We felt really safe. There wasn't too much traffic in most places. One of our most fun ways to travel in Asia. Thanks for watching, Cheers Chris and Jim
Thank you so much 😊 maybe not… I think there are many places that have not regained tourism as it was in 2019. Then are others that have been overtaken. It was nice to not have to deal with too many crowds. Cheers 🥂 thanks 🙏 for watching Chris and Jim
How were the beaches, almost every review mentioned trash/rubbish strewn beaches, except where hotel workers cleaned them up! Though your vlog gave a better impression, thanks!
Most of the beaches were not too bad, the worst one was the one we talk about on the opposite side of where we stayed. The ones by the hotel and up near the star fish were pretty good. I think on some beaches they are cleaning them up. Glad you liked the video, thank you so much for watching 🥂 cheers Chris and Jim!
Should have gone there 25 years ago when it wasn’t touristy as it is now which has completely ruined phu qouc, with only 1 main luxury hotel at the time all locals with a mixed Cambodian/Vietnamese accent, I remember riding on a bike around the whole island. Stopping at peoples houses flagging me to come in and drink tea or a cold beverage every hundred metres or so to show there hospitality . A shame how tourism has spoiled this place definately not even - fraction of what it was 20+ years ago I would say it was a hidden gem past tense and now a tourist gimmick.
Hi guys! Could you tell me how was the weather during your trip? I assume you visited the island during the summer rainy season with lots of showers and bad weather.
Hello, thanks for watching! We were there in February. It was perfect weather! Not sure about the Summer months. Such a beautiful island! Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jim

Hey guys, we're looking to understand how to work out where we should base ourselves on the island. We're looking to book 5 day+ nights as a family of 4, kids 9+10. Family friendly. Better north/south of airport? if we don't use scooters, how would you travel around island - grab/taxi?
Oh wow that sounds like an exciting trip for sure! We would suggest the West side we loved our place that you saw on the video, however there are loads of beach front options around the area. Mid island just south of the main town. We also liked this are because you can walk around the small streets, or an easy grab to the markets. There is a King Kong market close for any groceries that you may like. There are also loads of drivers to offer day trips from there. If you have any more questions let us know and we are happy to try to help. Happy planning! Cheers Chris and Jim!
