My wife and I went to San Antonio right before we got married. We now have been married 30 years. Have been to San Antonio at least 20 times. We live in Dallas/Ft Worth. Every time we go this is always on the list. Love it!

Just a couple days ago, Me and my family drove from Dallas to San antonio we went to the Biggest Mexican market possibly in the USA, And we went to the alamo along with the river walk including this restraunt I had the chorizo tacos from there

Back when the Spurs played at Hemisfair Arena you could often find opposing teams eating at Mi Tierra after the game and I guess the Lakers still do since a fan caught a video of LeBron cheering Taco Tuesday after a game against the Spurs a few years ago.
As a native to San Antonio. This would not be my choice. The food is mediocre. But it does have a very nice Mariachi bar. You go for the drinks not the food.
Mi Tierra is Tex Mex, not Mexican food and they’re pretty explicit about it. They do however have other restaurants that offer more authentic plates to Mexico proper. Try the Fish Filet plate at La Margarita during lunch hour. You’re welcome.
I hate Texas but I love all my Mexicans brothers and sisters especially I love Mexican foods and I gotta to check out that awesome restaurant Mi Tierra.
The restaurant atmosphere is great, but the food is not good. And the pastries are expensive and just ok. It’s for tourists who don’t know what good Tex-Mex food is.
I’m from California and here in California we have great Mexican restaurant but when I went to San Antonio for a little vacation a lot of people talk about MI Tierra saying it was the greatest Mexican restaurant. So I went to try it out, turns out this place is overhype and overrated the food isn’t all that great is just ok but not worth the wait or the price. This place is mostly a tourist trap for people who don’t know what Mexican food is or how it taste like, the only good thing about this place is that it has some nice decorations but that’s it. Definitely not worth going back.
There are thousands of other restaurants in San Antonio that I think serve better tasting and more authentic Mexican food than Mi Tierra. We locals don’t ever eat there. We leave that to the tourists. I’m sure it’s the same where you I’ve at too.
That’s because it’s not meant to be authentic Mexican food, it’s a Tex Mex cuisine unique to South Texas. If you want Mexican food, La Margarita (which is also owned by them) down the street has more authentic Mexican plates.
Im very picky about my Mexican food and this was more TexMex. Took the family for my birthday and it was a disaster. I might be biased because I had 1 shit experience but, I dont feel inclined to return.

I love San Antonio. It's always a struggle deciding where to spend more time--The Riverwalk or the Marketplace.
Go to the Rim instead.
Love them both i hit them both in one day sometimes
The River Walk has more to offer than Market Square, but Market is still worth a few hours of your time, especially for Mi Tierra.
