    Myst and Riven are amazing in VR. When I played them I got this feeling that this is the way they were always intended to be played. They were the same as I played in the 90s, but at the same time so much more. Amazing experience.

    Aluminum CNC looks a lot better than aluminum cold cast powder. I know you used to do molding, Bill, do you have a recommendation for a brighter, silvery casting powder?
    I've tried the Cast Magic powders too but that's sometimes hit or miss. They only coat the mold, not mix into the resin, and making sure the mold is coated evenly is sometimes difficult, especially long, thin 1 piece molds. Like for example, Blade's silver stakes.

    • @punishedprops
      @punishedprops  7 місяців тому

      My go-to for bright cold casting metal powder has always been aluminum, but I haven't tried everything that's available.

    Wasn't that Aluminum you were tapping threads in (on the blade), Bill? maybe I may give an advice I learned from an old german Master-Craftman long time ago, he said : Best and only working Cutting Fluid on Aluminum is Petroleum. It's kind of unfair that you show how things are designed/built with traditional methods, but when it's digital you just jump cut it. Show us what it means to get it ready and working for the CNC machine, not just "and then it was done". You don't do it with the other steps, why do it with software?

      When you're shooting a video on a project like this, deciding how much to get into the weeds with technical things like CAD/CAM is a real back-and-forth decision. The more we show, the fewer people watch the video, but the less we show, the less comprehensive value the video has. Something we're always tweaking. Thanks for the feedback.
