- This time I went to a store specializing in Daifuku, a popular Japanese sweet.
The price was a little expensive, but it was delicious.
Enjoy feeling Japan!
Thank you for watching!

These sweets are about the same price as a good French macaroon here in the States. You don't eat them daily, just as treats or to give as gifts. Japan is a big gift culture.
While yes, it’s very expensive (I see many comment on the price), it’s not just any random strawberry they use for these things, nor do people eat these treats (at that price range) daily. It’s very high quality fruits they use in these treats, and also a lot of work going into making these things. Of course there’s less expensive fruit in Japan as well, and from what I’ve heard, for us foreigners even a cheap Japanese strawberry is utterly amazing compared to what we’re used to elsewhere in the world. If you visit Japan and want to try these fruit treats but don’t want to spend out that much for each piece, you can even find strawberry sandwiches in convenience stores and it will most likely taste amazing even with not being the same quality as the one in this video.
Almost $5 for a strawberry is crazy, but would I try one if/when I visit Japan? Heck yes! I’d most definitely try some of the more high end Japanese fruits (though not the most extremely expensive ones) and compare them with regular ones just to really notice the difference. It just feels like one of those things that you need to experience when visiting Japan because their fruits are just that famous for its taste and quality.
Some people may want to explore the nightlife of Tokyo and spend a lot of money on clubs and bars, I’d spend that money on trying some more exquisite versions of fruits and traditional treats at least once, but stick to 7 Eleven and Lawson versions on a more daily basis
The fruit is beautiful, but it's not higher quality. I've been to Japan. The fruit is no better there than most anywhere else. You want AMAZING fruit, you go to Uzbekistan. Plus CHEAP. But you have to go to Uzbekistan. I don't personally recommend it. If you go there and regret it, I warned you.
Everything in Japan is expensive because the real estate is $$$$. Then they are fastidious so there's a lot of labor and packaging. $$$$.
You pay for the psychic "benefit" of consuming a beautiful, very perishable ($$$$) luxury good from a very cute shop with cute carryout boxes, utensils and bags.
You'll tell yourself that it's more amazing than any strawberry you've ever eaten, but it really won't be. But then how do most people live without psychic benefits and delusions? That's why we have Lamborghinis and Louis Vuitton.
I still rate Japan as one of my top 5 travel destinations. I think everyone who can spare the expense should visit. It's not about the food or the temples and palaces, but the people and how they live. It's very different. Not sure I could live like they do, but the Japanese get my respect.
Fruits are expensive in japan.
@@Rebotified it’s Japan, literally everything is expensive there. But it’s always worth a try!
Exactly! Nice and informative comment, everyone need to read this ^^
@@ampa4989 you're onto something. Psychic benefits and delusions eh😋 I'd still eat the mochi strawberry
I can't believe people are saying "It's very expensive" 490-690 yen is $4.02-$5.66 in US dollars. That is not expensive.
It’s ridiculously expensive for ONE strawberry.
It is very expensive
I mean yeah, If you are poor it's expensive i guess
Hmm no one ever seems to go for the kiwi. I adore kiwi! It's so good!
I hate kiwi it makes my tongue sting when I eat it maybe it’s just the kiwi that am eating but I used to hate it
@@Actuallygay might not be ripe yet, you could also try red kiwis, yellow kiwis seem to be more sour for me
@@Piggeu yeah I only like the red-

I love how simply and elegantly the daifuku are presented..
Such a beautiful culture. Everything in Japan looks like art.
Thank you from Japan🌸✨
Its a fruit cut in half, don't you eat fruits?
I like that he says each time, “I’ll try it” lol..too cute! 😁 Looks all so delicious! I can understand why each cost a lot. It’s just not a piece of fruit, it’s all specially made. Just like any bakery or candy store, people working there make it to look pleasing to the eyes and taste extra delicious. I’d buy a few pieces! Lol…. My mom lives in mostly Japanese community in the L.A. area, there’s several restaurants and specialty shops, and Daiso, one shopping area has a couple of Japanese bakeries and a Japanese grocery store, they sell a lot of Japanese merchandise, and also they sell American products, too. But when I visit mom, I stop by there and buy a few Japanese snacks and candies and they have a mini food court, all locally made Asian food. I haven’t been to the bakery yet, I’ll have to go and see what sweet desserts they have 😁
These were all so exquisite! You Japanese have such an appreciation of delicate, wonderful things. I admire you! Enjoying from 🇺🇲
Oh my goodness what works of art. I love it all, including the packaging and the strings, and the delicate little bags they are in.
Beautiful well packaged desserts that look delicious 😋
I got excited when you cut the fruit! That last tea and white chocolate sounds so interesting to taste!
Yum! Thanks for sharing!💖
Before I die I wanna visit and indulge in this culture profoundly .
Very beautiful and elegant.
Also, I love seeing the snow.
It all looked really good. Thanks for the video.
The crunching snow 😍
I love daifuku! But I’ve never tasted the ‘real thing’. 🥺 Maybe one day I’ll finally visit Japan and discover the original, tradicional flavours. 😁 How interesting the way to cut them in half when no cutlery is available! 😃 Thank you for sharing your experience! ❤️
Japan has so many delicious ways to get their vitamins
you are such an underrated youtuber high quality content i love your videos so much
Looks fantastic 😋
I would love to try these some day
You'll buy them as rewards or gifts. The unwrapping sounds are so tempting
amazing Asmr sounds
This video is so relaxing
I really enjoy this video! I hope to one day eat a daifuku like those.
If I can make a suggestion, putting outlines around the subtitles would make the text easier to read. Especially when the white text shows up in front of a lighter background/object.
As a person who lives in the tropics, it was very amusing for me to see wet snowfall at the start of this video
I love and miss living in Japan !
Me too. I doubt I can afford to live there now. Inflation has gone up. Salary for my job has not.
I want you to come someday🌸
I’ve always said that teleportation is the best superhero ability
Sweet. I cant wait to move there
I would buy those cakes because I love cakes. Great value and packing is nice.
Imo it's pretty damn expensive but gotta GOTTA remember they put time into making these plus the price and it seems veryy good quality but idk if I'd always go there bc of the prices but seems like a great way to treat yourself
Fruit in general in Japan is usually pretty expensive. So that's probably contributing a lot to it.
making mochi and wrapping a fruit with it is not very hard you can make it at home with almost the same taste also there are other places to buy the same thing but cheaper in japan it's just that this is a fancy shop in Sapporo
@@dundundun2383 I was thinking the same thing... it’s not like it’s even colored dough
素敵です🥰✨
Los pastelillos se miran muy ricos☺
やっぱり日本の和菓子って美しい☺️
見た目も味もどちらも妥協しない。
繊細さがある。
Miss Japan 😭
The story the store architect packaging... I would say the experience is worth every yen.
Not going to lie, that fruit looks amazing.
The strawberry 🍓 looks good and delicious 😋
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅I know.
You really had a sweet tooth that day 😁 what a great way to satisfy it, everything looked delicious 🤤
Everything seems so delicious 🤤
Yummy!!
I want to try it too 😆
wow snowy in japan..
these look so light and airy.if only I knew how to bake at such as a refined caliber..😄
The fruit cakes are so big!
That looks good wonder if they have it on the app weee
Wow you cut this in half so effortlessly strawberry and kiwi is my faves but if I’m in a citrus mood then orange and mandarin etc. I have never tried this, I tried mochi but it too soft and squishy. I hail from Scotland 🏴 and I watch Mikey Chen and Sas ASMR and I have been addicted to trying all these different foods. I have found a site called Japan city and I have ordered different sweets and cakes to see what they taste like. I have just joined your channel woo hoo bring it on, so excited. But what is a fruit sandwich, is it savoury or sweet???
If you didnt enjoy mochi daifuku wont be for you as its literally the same, only daifuku has a filling 🙂 fruit sandwiches are sweet. The japanese milk bread has a ever so slightly sweet flavour and then its filled with some kind of cream (whipped cream, custard, cream cheese etc) and the fruit. its basically a cake that looks like a sandwich 😄
Expensive. But, once in a while, it's all right to indulge. No regrets.
Daifuk...so that's white bean paste on the daifuku fruits?;) I thought maybe like a mochi, rice something or maybe something sweet...it certainly looks elegant
I want to eat those... :)
This is what I call "presentation." So much attention to detail. In America you would be lucky the worker didn't spit in your food.
thank you
車の中で食べるのかーいww
室内でJapanese Teaと食べて欲しかった😂
its sultan class snacks 😀
I kind of feel stupid right now. I saw those sandwiches and just how much stuff was in the middle, and couldn't figure out how you were supposed to eat them without squishing all the filling out and making a massive mess everywhere. Somehow, it never occurred to me to just hold it sideways and eat it like a hotdog. I don't know why, but I was dead-set that you were supposed to hold it and eat it like a traditional sandwich.
come to think of it there are many cream deserts I've eaten in my days where the issue of eating them without dropping 90% would have been to just turn it sideways i too feel idiotic
Thank you for muting the eating sounds!
What kind of bread is that and what tea is it
wait... in Japan is still snowing?
I would probably try each different Daifuku just to see which one was better.
Yay daifuku😂😂😂😂
Looks delicious! Where is this place? Mind putting the name and link to this place? Thanks
It’s in the description box! 😀
In Egypt the fruit Mandarin Orange 1 piece = $0.0625 / 10 piece = 1 $😉
Kalau pecel lele bumbu kriuk pakai sambel petis.. Enak gak? 😁
that is some nice looking wagashi and we all know how expensive wagashi can be .... that is one heck of an expensive food.
more like buying the art of wagashi + packaging than the food itself.
it's more affordable to get some mitarashi dango (or any dango/mochi) + actual fruits from the market/store, basically the same but waaaay friendlier to your wallet.
凄いですね、この、何といえばよいのか、薄皮大福とでも言うのか、始めて見ました、今度北海道に行ったら探してみます。
😋😋
The sandwich store looks like a high end jewelry shop
What are these things? What is the fruit wrapped in?
It is gyuhi ( a kind of rice cake made from glutinous rice or glutinous rice flour )
👍
stop you're making me hungry
バックグラウンドミュージックをロードすると、より風味豊かになる可能性があります。😋
sweet is in a wrap which is also in another wrap which is in a pack
ummmm...knife? or simple bite it?
I appreciate the captions but would still like to hear the person speak
Is the sandwich bread or cake? 🤔
I think it's more like a cake sponge!
Damn those are expensive
What part of Japan is this?
Description.
This store is located in Sapporo, Hokkaido, in the northern part of Japan!
When are you going to do some new videos? 😃
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
am i the only one who come because of the "thumbnail" ?
🍰🍰
I think so it's expensive.
From Japan
My take on Japanese desserts: it often looks better than it tastes. I like some desserts like Melon-pan and red bean pancakes, but Japanese desserts often are underwhelming. For one thing, it has too much whipped cream for my liking. I am not a fan of cream.
For me , most American sweets or toffee are overly sweet, sickeningly so . Lightly sweetened creamed and perfectly flavorful fruit seem like heaven in comparison .
@@kafkaontheshore9102 not a fan of sickly sweet dessert either. I just prefer to just eat the Fruit alone rather than these fancy desserts with cream.
@@lepetitchat123 I respect that opinion
I agree, I'm not a fan of whipped cream, in desserts or drinks so if I ever order something that normally has it, I ask for it to be removed lol
@@FieryFlamingFajitas Same! It's so good to hear someone else say that, haha 😄
fuku my day i watch this.
u should use cut with thread for thumbnail
$5 for a tiny candy is very expensive
Bauchspeichel made in nippon
😀🍭👍
A member of Big Mom pirates.
5:29 an incredibly stupid high price of 4.8$ for a single strawberry. These are probably easy to make as well.
I am happy to pay good money for a truffle because they are hard to come by or buy a quality bottle of wine for $100+ but i must say a strawberry wrapped in rice dough for $4.80 US is a little on the ridiculous side of things . would i pay it ? probably.
Die Japaner wissen was von Stil, Geschmack und wann das passende angebracht ist ,kann man was lernen ,
I’d give those boxes right back lol
In here for 8$ you stomach will full worth of all kind of sweets that you don't need to eat a meal that day
🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍👍🇰🇿
So expensive 😂
danger ⚠️
Lovely sweets, just so much waste
These sweets are so expensive compared to sushi which are so healthy
Tampoco es tan saludable pwro es mas rico
