This is the single most legit/awesome/amazing/euphoric thing I have ever listened to. My hat goes off to you, dude. You're not killing a classic, you're giving it a second life. Makes me miss Echoes even more than normal. Great video game.
9 years later, still one of the masterpieces of the Prime mixes.
Coming back to this song after over a decade feels bittersweet. The adventures i had on Prime 2 and how the original soundtrack was my driving force as a child. This one remix makes you think about all that, the past. When life was easier.
I hate how everyone says MP2 sucked. It wasn't as mindblowing as the first game. But seriously, think about this for a second. The planet was different, enemies all acted different, the areas were all vastly different looking, if you weren't literally retarded the ammo thing was nothing to worry about EVER, and most of all, the soundtrack to MP2 was better than MP.
MP2 was an AMAZING experience and I hate when people talk shit about it. This music is amazing. I love Metroid.
MP2 was my introduction to the whole Metroid series and I absolutely love(d) it. There’s flaws with it yeah, whatever.
The atmosphere is so fucking good and some of my favorite OST for all games. I could write a cpl paragraphs gushing so I’ll just say fuck the haters.
Metroid Prime 2 is easily my favorite in the trilogy.
I agree wholeheartedly. Everyone brushes past Echoes because Retro spiced it up a little, but the environmental storytelling was exquisite, coupled with the vastly improved scan visor you can learn everything about Aether and the Luminoth history. The subtle way the game rewards you for scanning throughout the game by listing the Key locations in the Keybearer's lore entries is one brilliant way that the player was rewarded for exploring the environment and delving into the lore that a lot of people glossed over. (GREAT MIX BTW I LOVE IT!)
@Paul B True, it was more difficult than most metroid games. That was one reason i liked it. It was a challenge, and I enjoyed that.
I think as far as my favorite pieces in the MP series go, this is one of them, but I love all three games for their soundtracks. For MP1, the Phendrana Drifts and both Tallon Overworld themes are nothing short of magical. That being said, I do like the world and story of 2 a *lot* better, and the only reason 3 is tied with it as my favorite is because I love being able to use the ship.

It's so beautiful. After a long day at work and gym it's just the best feeling to just set some candles, turn on the soundboxes and just lay on the couch and enjoy this masterpiece. Just laying back and listening.

Piano chill trance ;D. Favorite game. Blew my fucking mind as a kid with the graphics just like Turok 2. Funny how the creators of Turok 1 and 2 went on to live inside retro studios and get the license to make an incredible game for Nintendo. Never knowing that they did Turok 2 but always feeling and noticing their similarity's till one day you discover that it was always true.

the same dude who went on to find acclaim went on to create retro studios. after Turok 2 a lot of the employees left to go and join retro and supposedly rare ware. Turok 3 and evolution had very little to none of the original people that did 1 and 2. That's why they are so different.

In terms of music, no other Metroid game can come close to the music found in this one. They all have mind-blowing (or -soothing :P) tracks I can't get enough. I always find myself humming them.

I bought this on Bandcamp a few days ago, just to get this in flac. This is one of the greatest jazz fusion pieces I've heard ever. Scratch that; this is the best remix I've ever heard, of anything, ever. It's so good, it's spoiled the original version for me, and I thought the original was one of the best tracks from the entire _Metroid_ franchise! Well done.

I totally agree with you. It is, by far, my favourite game in the Metroid Prime trilogy. Incredible, unforgettable music, more challenging and unique boss fights, amazing storyline, and the screw attack. It also had the same feel as the original Metroid Prime but at the same time was entirely different if you catch my drift. To me, Metroid Prime 3 lacked that feeling, and didn't captivate or entice me the way the other two did. It surprises me that it didn't sell well off the bat.
