Same here, as well as an LED strip. Haven't tried the door sensor, but the motion sensors are EXTREMELY flimsy. Not only are they very hit-and-miss when pairing and working, they will not immediately go back to "clear", they only reset after about 1 minute after being triggered. Which for my use case is basically a no-go.
Judging by the triumphant return of the Lidl smart home in next week’s catalogue, I think they have made it a permanent part of their product rotation.
The ones I've bought (LED strips and motion sensors, though I returned the sensors, because they didn't work properly) paired just fine with a Conbee2 stick (the motion sensors were a bit fiddly, but I'm assuming that's because they're battery-powered), so if you're using one of those, you should be fine.
I think that this video can have a update. Since this video was made Lidl have been adding sensors to the productline. Also would like to know how you would add these products to your HA.
I was quite disappointed about the poor user experience. Everything I did took 5-10 minutes to be reflected in the app. For many things it felt like they are simply would not work. We have fast WiFi, my phone is a Samsung S9, so there should not have been the bottle neck. The home screen widget did not work at all at first and reported "failed to execute"- but suddenly worked the next morning. Did they really patch the software this fast, or is the delay a permanent bug? The journey to add users to your home/family is completely backwards. Normally you would type an email in the app and send someone an invitation, they open the mail, install the software from a pre-configured link, are automatically signed in with temp credentials, set a PW, and they are automatically connected. Here each user needs to first install the app, register and create a user, and then tell you the email they used. Only now, when the user already exists, can you add that email and invite them And now they just get a "you are invited, Accept/Decline" message that doesn't even tell them who is inviting them and to what. So you have to have to be close to the person you invite at the time you want to connect them. And, if all you need lights that switch on and off with a remote, this is not the right solution. The biggest disappointment was for me that the smart plugs cannot be assigned to the remote control- only bulbs. I only bought the starter kit, and not just a hub and plugs, because I wanted that remote. I have very little use for the smart bulbs. The remote does not however work with the smart sockets. Most our ambient lights are "dumb" led lights that are connected to smart plugs. They have been so far connected with radio controlled sockets and a remote, and the reason to switch was that those older sockets have their own limitations that I wanted to overcome with this solution. In hindsight it was a lot more convenient to use the remote when all I need is 95% of the time only "On" and "Off", than having to unlock my phone, open the app, etc.
Took minutes to integrate into my Tuya app, love the bulbs, better then philip and lot cheaper, front door bulb is set dusk to dawn. Reading on the latest in store magazine "keep an eye out for more smart home offers where you can expand the smart home functionality to more areas of the home". This (in Ireland) may mean the full range available in the UK, the ceiling lights for example aren't available here. Or it could well mean more products.

Please try and let me know. Here the second smartphone cannot pair unless I reset the hub, but that means that the first smartphone is now unpaired. And it only pairs one! Maybe the hub has a defect.
As always buy cheap buy twice so most likely more smart junk for landfill in a few years to come! It's a big 'if' they continue the product range, don't see why anyone would want to take such a silly chance. Brightness isn't everything either, CRI is far more important, as is strobing effect when dimming and proper integration with other products. None of this will come close to the quality of Philips as a company (they make commercial lighting products) or the Hue range. I've been bench testing hue since it's inception and it has been flawless and still going strong so worth the investment. In fact I only ever install Philips brand for lighting now as a result, even just standard LED GU10s, the quality is top with CRI of 90+ in the Master range (£5 each GU10), they are perfectly dimmable (down to 2%) and you can get all white temperatures in all beam angles... perfect. Also being first to market means it integrates better with more things and enhances your life rather than being just cheap rebrand tack that will probably screw up in 18 months will no support behind it... I call it Smart Junk
I bought two of the outlets and one of the power strips. All paired with smartthings, though the power strip required a custom device handler. One thing nobody has mentioned is the presence of a committee candle bulbs in the range. This is the cheapest price point for these on the market ever - even IKEA don't have one of these in their range. If they don't plan to keep these available long term then it seems like an unnecessary expense to produce a branded version of the app, so my suspicion is that we might hopefully be seeing these longer term. I would love to experiment with the door and window sensors people are mentioning, and hope they roll out here. I'm in the market for some.

Yeah I agree, no brainer!
@@j00h Thanks for that information. I've paired a colour E27 and a white bulb to a Hue gateway. The white bulb is fine and the colour bulb is ok in white mode but it's noisy and has very low light level (maybe 10% of the white level) in colour mode. I'd appreciate any thoughts please! I don't have any other colour bulbs to compare it to. Thanks
@@grahametobin5297 it’s much better with the lidl gateway.
Does Trådfri need any flashing before pairing together with that gateway?
Sorry I couldn't say for sure, I don't have a tradfri!
I can’t make them work with Ikea home smart. I can’t make home smart to work on lidl smart home either unfortunately.
Please wths name of application ?
Anyone know if the lightstrip can be cut & reattached with connectors, such as the litcessory ones?
You can cut them yes, only thing to watch out for is that it has a waterproof cover on these, but you'll just need to pull this back a bit further to get the bare strip.
Reading on the latest in store magazine "keep an eye out for more smart home offers where you can expand the smart home functionality to more areas of the home".
This (in Ireland) may mean the full range available in the UK, the ceiling lights for example aren't available here. Or it could well mean more products.
Oh great spot, hopefully it's the latter!
Svp c'est le nom de l'application pour tenter le produit ?
Hello. Have you managed to integrate this gateway with HA?
Hello! No I didn't but I didn't try to either, it may be possible using local Tuya
search for "Paul Banks Lidl Zigbee" for how to flash it for use with HA
Are those compatible with Ikea Tradfri?
From what other people have said, they are indeed
Will the Lidle Smart Products work with Alexa Echo Plus (2nd Gen) as I believe that has ZigBee built in?.
They should do yes, I can't verify though for sure
Zigbee hub is only on gen 4
Just got mine and integrated it with my Philips Hue app and Google Home. Getting more tomorrow!!
Awesome, must have made a good impression!
@@EverythingSmartHome For the price they are fine. They don’t support power on behaviour in Hue app. So far so good.
Just got two of the E27 colour and loud buzzing from them in the light fitting, so back they go! Philips I forgive you!!
@@EverythingSmartHome They are going back..loud buzzing from the E27 lamp! Quite audible from a distance.
Will the smart extension strip work with amazon echo ?
Unfortunately not natively, these are Google Assistant only for some reason
I bought the bulbs to lidl but I did not know I needed the zigbee gateway. Where can I find it online?
Hey Marco, you do not need the gateway if you already have a ZigBee gateway?
I don't have the zigbee gateway. Do I find it only in lidl stores?
@@piras90 no it can work with other ZigBee gateways, it depends on what you want to do
I bought 2 smart bulbs but I realised I now need the gateway. Where can I find it?
It’s on the Lidl website, they don’t sell it in stores (at least in Germany). I’m stuck thinking is the gateway the same as a hub and if so is this one good or is there a better one that also accommodates Z-Wave products?
Is it possible to pair 2 smartphones to the hub?
Should be because it's just WiFi!
Please try and let me know. Here the second smartphone cannot pair unless I reset the hub, but that means that the first smartphone is now unpaired. And it only pairs one! Maybe the hub has a defect.
I'm not sure what you mean by pair since there is no pairing because they aren't a Bluetooth device? Unfortunately I cannot test this at the moment
Lidl = nice job Tuya.
The gateway works on tuya app?
I'm not sure I haven't tested sorry!
@@EverythingSmartHome yes, It's tuya hub and tuya smart life app
*committee = coloured
@@mikeguest6307 what custom handler were you able to set up for your strip please? I'm unfortunately struggling to locate one for SmartThings 😔
They are made by Tuya and they have more partners then any device, they also can reprogrammed.
