Great video hey I got a question. Where can we get your books from? Please let me know if you have a PayPal and would you deliver them through the mail. Thanks, please let me know
I did not plan on watching this whole video, but it's incredibly well done and Estevan's story is compelling. I couldn't turn it off. Props to everyone involved.
I just stumbled across this on UA-cam… I’m a black man and I was born in East LA, Aliso Village. I have never ever forgotten my roots there… although we moved when I was 4 my heart will always belong to East LA. It’s a special place. Music and art is how we tell our stories. Thank you for this
This 17-minute video turned into an hour. Every single picture captures a story, and that's a gift not just anybody has. I hope he continues his craft and keeps recording the LA history through an eye of a true LA resident
Love that his father saw and encouraged Estevan to take pictures. It's important to help our children discover their gifts so that they can develop them and gift them back to the world. Thanks for sharing
As a true LA native, this the kind of stuff i can really appreciate and relate to. This was all normal to me growing up in south central. Glad to keep the history alive. We love our city
Estevan's body of work is unparalleled and he deserves much more exposure. His portraits are so good and you can see the trust he gains from the people he photographs - so respected. 'You gotta get the work first, first you gotta be good enough to get the work, then you gotta do the work, then you gotta hope paid you get paid for it" - been there and know exactly what he means. If your photos aren’t good enough, then you’re not close enough. Estevan gets so close and that's why he is so good. Thank you for this revealing video, Estevan is a huge inspiration for me.
Great episode. One of the most inspiring photographers for me, especially growing up in Socal. They way Estevan is able to tell the story of LA in his photographs is incredible, truly one of a kind.
I grew up obsessed wit LIFESTYLE C.C. and was later blessed to have been an employee at GreyOne & SA Studios in Pasadena in 2007. Spent the next 10 years following this man around from the SA studios near the 4the Ave bridge to the tattoo shop off Skid Row. Although I'm an insignificant speck on his timeline, Estevan changed my life. R.I.P. Big Trigz.
A remarkable photographic document of a world few have the courage to enter. Reminder for all photographers, that you should never stop documenting the life you see.
Estevan ive been following you for probably 15 years. im only 31. thanks for answering so many questions ive always wondered, in this video. everytime i see you in person i just ask for a handshake and a photo. thanks for everything
Damn seeing the few pictures of DP members bring back memories of growing up in Paramount aka Perromount good shit mad respect for your work capturing the L.A lifestyle
Beautiful account, amazing contents. Incredible well done documentary. I meet estevan oriol in two different tattoo conventions, florence 2016,rome 2019. Got all of his books,2 on 3 live signed. A nice genuine person.

Love this! I wish his books were more readily available. They seem to be out of print/sold out for the last few years. I don't understand how that is possible in today's age....
Been following your work since you and Cartoon came to CSUN in 2007. Talking about photography and low rider culture. Been a fan ever since. Still doing your thang Estevan. Putting it down for our gente. Respecto hermano 🎉
Beautiful work. This was an awesome episode. I was a teenager late 80s and 90s here in Southern California. Estevans work and photography resonates with me so much. The memories that he captured on film are incredible. This man is a living legend.
No one noticed how he cleaned and wiped down the table before setting down his books , a show of self respect and respect for others , respect for his artwork and his environment
he just cleaned his table, which I hope you do too...relax. There are children fighting for their life in Palestine. You Americans always take your celeb worship to idol worship level. Relax..
Estevan a legend in the street photography game. I remember we had a show at the Santa Monica Art gallery his work, Mr Cartoon f.n.a “ Flame “, Risky, My work,King Cre8 we was all in there!!! This was like 97!
I've watched 2 of your videos so far and the way you execute these authentic stories overlaid on the production is beautiful. From start to finish it's art in motion. *Chefs kiss

This is the video that turned me on to who this individual actually is. I've been seeing and enjoying his photography for years and years, especially now that I live and photograph in LA myself. Thank you very much for this video. I'm also a chicano who works in and photographs the entertainment industry, so I feel a unique connection with this man. Thanks again.
Buenos dias Mr Oriol I appreciate your work bro . We's about same age . I love the black and white shots . I'm always looking at old Noir movies. That's the shit . What do your books run for ? Good luck 🍀
A true legend . This man has captured the real life of our culture. The stories he could tell us . He feels like a tio that will always look out for you
This was soooooo beautifully put together, outstanding images and BEAUTIFUL car he owns. Wish he had spoken more about what camera system he shoots with.
So so good!! What an awesome story captured here, you can feel the passion and love emanating from his pictures, and this video has done justice to it all so well too!
Estevan, you are the Ansel Adams of E LA Street photography. Outstanding, museum quality work. I don't know if you have a chance to check out the Hip Hop exhibit at the Annenberg Photo Space Museum in Century City. You're work would have fit right in. Unfortunately, they closed during the Pandemic shutdown. You work could definitely could work at the Getty in W LA. They have all types of exhibits from the beginning of photography is contemporary LA artists. You work reminds me of the work of WEEGEE, a 40's NY street/crime photographer and also Diane Arbus. The LA County Art Museum had a full exhibit of Diane Arbus. See about a showing at the Museum of Modern Art, DTLA. Also, as an art collective, the Brewery Art Colony. You've done the hard work, time to cash in.
Man this really got me thinking ,and it hit home I been to L A in the 1992 3. 4. And I seen I bit of this I’m from Australia but watching. Something clicked in my head thank you ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🥲🍺🦘🇦🇺🇺🇸
