As shallow as that Marina is I would think they would get those obstacles out of there so that people don't damage their boats. But what do I know? I'm glad you got to your destination relatively on time and had a great wedding and reception. Thank you for the video. Wishing you safe sailing.
Hey guys, I just want to thank you for all the videos you put out for us all to watch! I don't know if you remember me but I told you guys I got a sailboat, and the work to fix it up has been intense and overwhelming at times but you taught me to stick with it because of the fun that comes after all the work is done. You taught me how much work it can be and what to expect and not to give up. That info you share has helped me see the work as "normal" and part of owning a sailboat. Fair winds 👍
Very good description and diagrams of the obstacles you had to traverse. Atticus ll has never looked better! And that ahaa feeling once she splashed and you were floating free....
Awesome episode! From the difficulties getting Atticus II out of the shallows and into a dock to the glorious celebration of an international wedding, you simply delivered a great voayage for us. I look forward to many more voyages on Atticus II.
Yeah I agree that marina needs to clear any debris out of the lanes.Great to see Atticus back in the water again..There is some yellow paint stuff to put on the prop but I’m not sure what it’s called. The Bimini looks great..
Like a soapie, P. Atticus has become the most qualitative sailboat show. Liked it when you'll changed out of the boot of a car...so used to the outdoor life- at odds with your regular plastic world. Desire looked stunning at function...P.Atticus has become addictive...always something Grand to watch
Hey guys… hang a pair of really big bumpers off the aft rail to keep the dingy from chaff. Also figure out how to avoid chaff when you tie diagonal lateral lines to stop swing over the tubes. Otherwise you’ll chaff the tubes as well. Just a friendly reminder… that’s a nice new dinghy and chaff happens quickly. Be well… Matthew SV wildflower Seattle
Fortunately all of the struggles and hitting of underwater obstacles was done at super slow speeds and sounds like known wooden objects. Not impossible but the chance for any real damage are pretty low. I thought you were all set once she floated clear of the crane. Weird the marina gave you that slip as they should have known you have a pretty deep draft on Atticus 2. Congrats on splashing and a great wedding festivity.
Just watched this episode and loved that you got to practice running that boat aground and out by using your heads. You guys must be super proud to have splashed Atticus II. Great work with some very interesting DIY videos. I also agree with sern8ty.
Glad you guys were able to get out without doing any damage. sounds like that Marina has some maintenance to do. I would suggest grabbing a pair of goggles though to take a look at the bottom of the keel.
Congrats guys! It looked like a stressful launch, but in the end it all worked out. Desire, I had to teach myself to stay calm in stressful situations by telling myself that I had to stay calm during and could stress after the emergency was over. It works! Safe sailing and can't wait to see your next adventure! The wedding looked wonderful and lots of fun! ❤️
Brings back fond and not so fond memories of the base marina at Keesler AFB in Biloxi. Fond, because I met my wife there and courted her on the boat. Not so fond because we were ALWAYS running aground in the back bay mud. Glad you made it out.
Fantastic to see you in the water. But what is the marina doing?? Why have they not moved those pylons to stop a major boat disaster?? Have you managed to check for damage on your keel? It always happens just after a major new clean paint job on your beautiful bottom! You have done some amazing work on Atticus.
The marinas in this part of North Carolina have been devastated by hurricanes in recent years. Submerged objects buried in the pluff mud is not something most marinas can afford to fix. It looks like the wind drove the water out of that area on day of their launch. It probably would not have been a problem on a normal day.
This is Marvins spouse Jessica! Walked by with our little man yesterday but didn’t see you guys out. Wanted to stop by and meet y’all in person. The boat canvas and additions look amazing, even better in person! So cool y’all are in Washington! We are near the downtown area so give Marvin a call!
Re-splashing your boat after a long while on the hard is like the running back blasting through the gap stiff-arming everyone until they break into the open and... unfurl the sails! Makes one wonder just how the boatyard could know of broken off pilings in the runway and not drag them out! When you get back from Raleigh, you need to haul the boat out again and repaint the bottom of the keel! But of course, you know that. We'll always know there is a scuff on the bottom of that keel until you fix it! 😄 If you are going to go down the ICW, hold off on that until you get past Maransas Pass around St. Augustine.
PHEW! What a stressball! Glad you got around those blockages, and hopefully they address what is sunken right there in their Marina, they need to drag that stuff up and maybe dredge that area better. Sounds tight. Ours is basically a 6foot draft as well, so we feel for ya and know what it's like= our own mooring ball is only a few yards away from an area to run aground on, and we had a close call once when we went too wide in bad weather trying to grab our ball on a return trip. (50mph gusts and bad currents all working against us), it sure is a trial by fire sometimes. hehehe
Whenever you two are on the hard it's like watching a caged bird sing. So glad you're back in the blue and can't wait to see where you set off to next! Thanks for all your hard work and tenacity. Love seeing you two happy!
I wonder why the marina hasn't had those pilings removed, or at least made it known that it's necessary to pass on the south end of the one in the fairway and to not use the slip that has the problem.
Great episode, great to see you floating again. You have still something on your to do list. Once you are in warmer and clearer water you might want to see how that dragging affected the underwater part An outcome as " we couldn't find any signs" or "good we looked one of the anti corrosion blocks is missing" are as welcome. One because no extra work is needed the other because more damage can be averted. But anyway it will make another great episode.
Talk about stress. All of the labor intensive work was literally on the line. Wow 👏 great job guys. Can't wait for summer and awesome warm inviting island videos. Oso, living the dream little buddy. Calm seas, from here on out.
Sorry guys I’ve been under the weather,Desiree you are so right,Jordan is very hard working individual, very smart,👀🤟You have the best husband ever,su amigo Chapin en Boston, los quiero mucho ❤️👍también capitán Oso 🐻
Outstanding job getting past the obstructions at the marina. WOW, Jordan stayed cool under pressure. Good deal. Great video. Wedding looked fun too👍🇺🇸😎...
Not a boater at this moment, however, I would expect the marine management would match customer boat types and depth of boat bottom to appropriate slips. Perhaps dredge the dock areas? I’d be a bit perturbed with what you went through … 🤨🤭🥴🤓
then you may not make it in and out of many marinas. the costs of what you are assuming should be done, is why it is not. 6.5' of keel is bigger than most marinas can afford to maintain at their shallowest slips/haulouts.
Keep in mind it isn't uncommon for entire marinas to be nothing but mud on a super low tide following a heavy northern front that blows the water out of the bay.
Can't help thinking all this dragging over things can't be good for the paint that you've done. Hope there isn't any more damage. Glad you got out of there though!
The max prop anode won’t last very long as is. One tip to help it last longer is to paint around where you put the bolts through the anode with spray on Trilux anti foul. That part of the anode won’t then dissolve as quickly . It is very thin in this part and the bolts rapidly become free otherwise. The other option is to buy the bronze adapter plate they sell which means you can attach the anode with a long bolt through the centre. Ours lasted October to August through the Caribbean and Pacific to Australia with this.
"Nothing like a good 👍 coat of paint" Applies to boats especially like yours in the seawater... Great that Jordan has skills to keep it up teamwork you both use to keep er up to par repairing much as needed Great job
I love you guys! Great video! It was nerve wracking enough for a viewer let alone what you must have been feeling! Yikes! I was rooting for you all the way! Couldn't wait to see you finally float your boat! YaaaaY!!!
Thanks for showing how to handle problem in action. Desiree you looked great on that wedding! :) How surreal it can be from banking the boat to a wedding in 2 hours, people wouldn't believe than 2 hours before you did whaaaat...
Wow- was not expecting it so hard to get out of the anchorage but so glad you made it. You glam up so well :) Looking forward to your sailing in your new home, best of from Paul.
"Brains over brawn" would wait for high tide and then float free. Brawn becomes necessary when the brainwork hasn't happened beforehand to clear the submerged debris. Glad you made the wedding!
Lightning protection is tricky business, one part science, two parts magic! Did someone tell you the plate needed to be replaced? Looked like surface corrosion that could been cleaned off easily with a brush. Replacement was a lot of work, maybe just playing it safe due to all the expensive electronics? Just curious, great job, as always.
After all that work, it must have been super stressful getting stuck, all the time wondering what it was doing to the fresh paint and any other parts below water.

Using the halyard in a controlled manner was good seamanship!
Big brain idea there - well played !
It sounds like that marina needs to do some dredging.
Awesome episode! From the difficulties getting Atticus II out of the shallows and into a dock to the glorious celebration of an international wedding, you simply delivered a great voayage for us. I look forward to many more voyages on Atticus II.
The wedding looked like it was a blast! Thanks for sharing.
Looks like that marina needs some major maintenance on their fairways. Brains over brawn! Good job.

I love how much you two share on the boats, and as you move forward! Still worry about you three in the water!
Thats called Careening...Deep Fixed keels are a bit of a pain inshore..
Marina needs to do some dredging out 😉
Dude, I work on my sailboat and do a lot of the work but, you sir are very good at repairing and maintaining your vessel. Job well done sir.
So glad to see you made it out of the boat yard!

What an odyssey getting out of the marina! Way to be persistent. Wonderful wishes to your friends.

Atticus II looks absolutely stunning! Great job folks, you did a tremendous job.
WOW, that was stressfull getting out of there! Glad you made it!
Ha, I have done the travel-like-hell-change-in-the-parking-lot-for-a-wedding thing too.
At last! You are free. I'm very happy for both of you. Godspeed, good winds. You are making my day every Saturday!
I am so impressed with you folks. The hard work (work on the hard) pays off while afloat. Good luck.
Luv you two, and Oso. Great job kids!

I am so impressed that in the chaos and stress of departing the marina you managed to keep filming and droning!
Quite a stressful start but glad you are on the water again
Wow that was something to watch after all you have done. Has anyone looked at possible damage? Looks like an awesome wedding too. Glad you had fun.
That was stressful to watch. Good on you for making it through with smiles on your faces!!
So glad you are finally splashed! Loved the episode!
Can't wait for summer.
Glad you guys made it out safe. Congratulations to the bride and groom. Safe travels.

Wonderful video, thank you! So glad you're back on the wet and got unstuck!
Whenever you two are on the hard it's like watching a caged bird sing. So glad you're back in the blue and can't wait to see where you set off to next! Thanks for all your hard work and tenacity. Love seeing you two happy!
What a great video! Excellent problem solving allowing for participation in a remarkable Indian wedding.
Last summer we got really really stuck. It is so annoying. Glad you are back in water.
I wonder why the marina hasn't had those pilings removed, or at least made it known that it's necessary to pass on the south end of the one in the fairway and to not use the slip that has the problem.
Unfathomable...
@@RappinIggyG Well, then I guess they'll all have to wait for a higher tide. OOh, that's DEEP.😎
Back in the water awesome! Sucks you hit things fresh out of the yard with a perfect hull. Is it dinged up badly? Are you gonna check it? Concerned?
What a nail biter! So glad you guys were able to finally get out. (That wedding looked amazing!) 💕💕💕

That wedding looks like so much fun!!
Excellent episode, balancing the stresses of getting out of the silted-in dock area with the celebration of the wedding.
Congratulations on another splash 💦 ⛵️
When you were stuck, I was thinking he muddied the propeller!!! Des looked beautiful for the wedding!
Never a dull moment-
Thanks for sharing
Life is good~
Very impressive figuring out how to get out of the Marina!
Great job you two. Much love to the newly married..
Looked wonderful. Respect and love to all..

I really enjoyed this video!! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you
I can appreciate now that the last boatyard I hauled out at was also home to a dredge company.

You handled the grounding well
Sounds like someone need to dredge their marina.
Love you guys and your awsom adventures
Wow! What a roller-coaster of an episode!
Congratulations , ready set check , fix do it again until liftoff!
Another great Saturday morning!
Nailed it … you have a great spaceship and a great platform to build on .
Such a great video...as always!✌️💜
Nice to see you under way again :)
A bit of nail polish around the screws on the zinc will prevent the zinc from falling off your prop.

I’m so so happy for ya’ll ! Keep it up.
Great Video ! Thank you
So much for the new bottom paint… I feel your pain
You are a wonderful couple
Great information
So glad it wasn’t a worse problem
make my day every video thank you.

Wow, glad everything worked for your guys, that was an intense episode.
so much for that nice new bottom paint
Looking forward to the next haul out to see what happened if anything.
In the water, yeah! Congratulations.

Real treat to follow you guys this morning! Amazing how you guys have prepped your boat for the next leg of your adventure 👍
After all that work, it must have been super stressful getting stuck, all the time wondering what it was doing to the fresh paint and any other parts below water.
Wow! You guys handled that well-- here's hoping that's the worst you have to face!
Awesome episode.
Awesome content as always.Atticus II is literally better than new. Such a sweet ride! Im excited for you guys!
