People won't rise out of their seat for Jesus. And that song says we will rise from our grave! Amen!❤ The word of (God) says we will rise out of our graves when that trumpet blows to be judged according to our works . ❤
I have heard them do a much greater performance of this song. I don't know if it's the atmosphere in the place where they were singing or what. It's a beautiful song with a great meaning and they ended it well. Worth the listen. Thanks
My very favourite Kingsmen line-up. Chris Collins tenor and Tim Surrett lead, Parker Johnathan baritone and the incomparable Ray Dean on Bass. Enough to make a priest kick a hole in a stained glass window yeehaaa!
I love hearing them sing. God's anointing is heavily on them. Indeed, that great resurrection will be on the last Day. At present, however, our dead bodies will be buried while our spirits go straight to be with Jesus, to await that special occasion they sing about for, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." James
I like it--BUT I must say that I will have been with Jesus in heaven long before my body gets reunited with me in heaven--at The Lord's Second Coming!!
This song is not saying otherwise. It is focusing on the glory of the resurrection with new bodies like Jesus, just as God's Word celebrates the resurrection of the saints more than being in Heaven before the resurrection. And it won't happen at the 2nd Coming but 7 years earlier at the rapture of the church. I Cor. 15:51-52 and I Thes. 4:16-17.
Jack Toney, who wrote this song, did not believe in soul sleep. Haven't you heard other songs that refer to the glory of the resurrection? " I'll Have a new Body"; "We Shall Rise"; "Saints will Rise", just to name a couple... This song is making the same point!
I have sang this song at many funerals, and after I sang it, people would compliment me on how it touched them.
I keep watching the late Hilton Griswolds reaction and you can see pure joy on his face.

Does anyone know what's the name of the laughing man on 1:25 ? Is he part of any group?
We sang this song at my mom and brothers funeral
I wished they would have shown Calvin Newton on during that song.
Gene McDonald had long hair 103
Those folks are dead they should have been up worshipping god.
Without listening to the video; just judging from the title, this sounds like a Russ Taff song
Written by the great Jack Toney from Boaz, AL. Former lead singer of the Statesmen Quartet
