- Another Welsh town tour with a whistlestop tour of Aberaeron. Including Welsh history, ice cream and of course cake!
Did you know Aberaeron once had a steam railway? Did you know it was a planned town? All this and more within this video.
HubNut's main channel is at / hubnut and you can support all of HubNut's channels at hubnut.org - thank you.
Love these mini tours of Wales - much more useful and fun compared to the official fed boredom - hope you continue with this series ! .
My 4yo's face lit up when you mentioned Balamory. It's her absolute favourite!
Oh that is lovely
I love Wales! Sadly, I've seen all too little of it, but I want to try to see more!
Lovely video Miss HubNut, but I feel that you were in danger of lift-off a couple of times! Looking forward to more! :-)
It was rather rough!
How you manage to be such a charming walking encyclopaedia of local knowledge with an ability to actually get viewers to want to visit whilst at the same time controlling Mr Hubnut's dietary aversions to good nutrition is beyond me but you do it so well! Thank you for another wonderful video and all that food does look so good!
Thank you - it has it's moments!
We usual go there end of May bank holiday for minis on the prom
Drive my classic 1983 mini from Derbyshire down through Devils Bridge on the way
Lovey drive, lovely people, lovely town.
Miss Hub Nut you have a wealth of information enjoyed watching your vlogs. 💕
Love the colour of the houses it looks amazing
I have not had treacle tart for years, I think a trip needs to happen.
That one was particularly good
Another great video Miss Hubnut. Impressive knowledge of the history well explained and put across in an engaging manner .
Sorry I am commenting as I watch, the railway was on that pathway, the passenger station was near to where the new AICC is now Aberaeron side of the old railway bridge from Jewson which I believe must be the old goods yard
Great comments, thank you for sharing
There's an old style "Aberayron" railway sign at the entryway to Jewsons. Nice little memory of the railway 🙂
That is such a pretty little town with all those colourful houses. I imagine it would be even more so in the sunshine. Will have to add it to my "must see places" when I get back to the UK.
You do realize that it is an unusual form of torture for us viewers on the other side of the Atlantic to sit and watch you eating those amazing desserts, right? That bubble waffle ice cream and the treacle tart especially!
Cheers, and stay well!
Really enjoyed this. I am usually not fond of planned towns here in the USA but this one is brilliant. The row houses are beautiful and maintain the density required to keep things walkable, while the green spaces give people a place to enjoy the outdoors. Very attractive!
It is rather lovely
What a great little town. I need a bubble waffle in my life now! Hehe. Lovely and informative video as always Miss HubNut!
Wonderful vid miss nut do like your local Welsh history videos! 😊
That square in be the middle of town is just gorgeous. Somehow it never got sacrificed to the automobile.
Remarkable.
The town was planned around the square field so thankfully it has been spared
Thanks Miss Hubnut for yet another enjoyable tour!
Love your accent nice and clear, with a passion for your towns.
Once again, a lovely vid. Lots of great local info and history. And ice cream . Thank you, Ms HN - a marvellous presentation. Keep on truckin’ !
My younger daughter and family were in Aberaeron today - thanks to your recommendation the Angelato ice-cream has my granddaughter's seal of approval!
That's brilliant, so glad you she enjoyed it
These are so making me want to explore more of Wales , both my mum and mum in law were evacuated during the war my mum to Ebbw Vale and mum in law to Waun Lwyd where she loved it so much she didn’t want to come back !
It’s a great reminder that we don’t have to leave these shores to find wonderful places to visit , have a holiday and eat multiple yummy ice creams !
Thank you. We are so lucky to live on an island with so much variety, history and beauty
I love Aberaeron too. The food, and of course the ice cream, is amazing. I wish the self propelled ski lift thingy was still there.
I do enjoy your travel videos on Welsh towns and beauty spots, very natural and entertaining at the same time.
Your meal choice was awesome Miss Hubnut!
That chicken liver pate was absolutely delicious
Love your tours, keep them coming.
Lunch and cake looked delicious. The row of multi coloured cottages a very nice touch. A very entertaining and informative video. 🙂
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Absolutely love your Videos Always great time love seeing new palaces hoping you have a wonderful week
Thank you, have a lovely week
Went on holiday to Aberaeron in 1970 i was 6 it rained every day, very soggy staying in a tent so we came home early,50 years on it looks a wonderful place in the sunshine.
Love the video's Miss Hubnut keep them coming!!
You and Ian are not helping my diet! Really enjoying the videos you are an absolute natural in front of the camera :)
Sorry about that! Glad you enjoyed the video
Thankyou Miss Hubnut another interesting wander through a small town steeped in history.
For what it's worth I think that path you were on could well have been the railway track 'cause
the amount we could see it looked pretty straight, where we are we have the Tarka Trail an ex
railway line that could have been drawn with a ruler, just a thought. Thanks again will have
the hobnobs ready for next time 'cause it will probably contain food and I don't want to be
caught out without something to nibble.
Yes it was a railway track further along is a station platform and ti building that was restored at some point in the past and use to go from Lampeter if memory serves me right. Ther is also the remains of a platform at Silian by Glen Denys.
@@glowskulls100 Ok thanks for that,
just a guess on my part but it looked
very much like it.
I enjoyed that lovely video. I have a passion for history and architecture. Thank you for making this :)
Miss HubNut and the HubNut Family Production Team showing us around the wonders of Wales, to add, an exquisite Gourmet Gallery, thank you, much enjoyed video 👍😎
I love how your videos contain meals, local produce should be supported
Great video M.H. 👌
Thank you. I'd rather show than just recommend.. Plus they're so delicious!
@@misshubnut and that's always a plus point
And it's purely for research purposes if course
Excellent as always Miss Hubnut ☺
Excellent Carly. You have a real gift for this.
Another enjoyable podcast. I really find these tours of Welsh coastal towns very interesting. I’m already looking forward to the next one.
Interesting video, engaging and well paced. Your love of Aberaeron really shines through. It definitely made me want to visit.
Great interesting, and informative where did you gain such knowledge with cakes as well what more could one want Love it
Another Great Video and tour, making me hungry now with all the food and ice cream. Beautifal regency town.
Thank you Carly another wonderful video
Yet another interesting travel video by Miss Hubnut. It is always so fascinating to listen to the history of each town that she visits. Also I did enjoy seeing the Smiley Face Ford Transit Ice Cream Van from 2000.
I was looking around that area when I was on my way to redundancy. It's lovely. I didn't get made redundant and am trapped in the SE for a while longer. ☺️
Thank you again for a great film 😊 I’m really enjoying these films and feel like I’m learning as well ! Please keep up the good work 😎
Delightful video thank you for that. Aberaeron is such a special place and it's lovely to see it all again.
Champion - always enjoy a Miss Hubnut walkabout!
Love the colourful houses!
Diolch! We've just returned from a long weekend at Aberaeron/Llanerchaeron - beautiful area. A bit too cold to try the local icecreams, but reminisced about the old aquarium (visited when our kids were small), and walked along the old railway line.(Incidentally we also visited Devil's Bridge). Keep up the good work!
Another top upload. Thank you.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series of videos. It's lovely to see other parts of the country you wouldn't ordinarily ever think about or venture to.
Miss Hubut tours, once you pass your driving test you could start your own sideline. Hehe 😀
Fantastic video as always 👏
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying them.
I could - Chauffeur folks around in Chemmy
My memories of Aberaeron go back to the mid 60's I was 2 yrs old when Nan & Grandad bought a static caravan at the Aeron Coast Caravan site next to the Petrol Station.
Spent many many weekends at the site. All the the kids got together and we played football and cricket. Happy days they were.
The highlight of the summer was the Carnival every August Bank Holiday.
I'm glad you mentioned the Honey Ice Cream too.
Did you know that The Constant Husband was filmed in Newquay and Aberaeron starring Rex Harrison it was directed by Sidney Gilliat in 1954. (Source: Wikipedia)
Looks lovely. I will add it to my list of places to go.
Another lovely video, top work!
Being a big fan of Wales and also of history, this was an interesting watch. Perfect.
Very picturesque Wales has some lovely places to visit.
Very lucky to live somewhere like this
@@misshubnut
Yes I'm on a peninsula in the North West, nice parts herw too very good links into Wales.
Nice job Miss HN. Love the Welshness.
I haven't seem much of Wales . Your videos have sparked my interest. And honey icecream well done
Miss Hubnut rules .Speaks good welsh too .Flaming heck , how did she know so much info .
More of these please ! Lovely and informative video.
Thank you, hope to make another soon!
I haven't visited since I was a child, I must return soon. Not sure about catching crabs though 🤔
Another great video always feel hungry watching , used to come to the square with the football team I was involved with the pub with the glass covered “well” in the floor. Keep the videos coming I had a shoe repair business in Llandysul so would enjoy a trip there. I am now back in Scotland but still miss Wales🏴🏴🏴🏴
Treacle tart! Oh yeaahhh. Another really interesting video. Thanks very much.
Thank you for this information, we was there today , going back to Harlow tomorrow. Great video 👍
Flippin Excellent. Thank You. These really are Very Very Good.
Thank you
Most Excellent! What a lovely place to visit. I've added it to my list....
Excellent, it is a wonderful place
I always used to get ice cream from a little kiosk in the corner of the harbour. I’m now regretting not spending longer exploring the town and harbour further.
Another thoroughly enjoyable video for which I am very grateful!👍
Edit- I should have waited til I wrote my comment because you just had an ice cream from the place I was referring to!!😂
Looks Beautiful
What fantastic local knowledge, and super presented, you should be come a tour guide, brilliant
Thanks for the tour!
Lovely little town. Great places to eat. Leaving tomorrow 🙁 the weather has been stunning (June 2022)
Another very interesting video.
Very enjoyable. Thank you
Hi, another great video and, another place I will have to come and visit that Bubble woffle looked so good, and I love all the different colours of the house, and I was thinking about ballamorey as well.
Really enjoying your videos, can't wait to see what you do next, all the best to you all..
It is a lovely place. Bubble waffle was so delicious! Thank you
Brilliant, more please.
Thank you, that was very informative. Looking forward to Devil's bridge, camped at a lovely site near to there.
Always enjoy your videos
The sound of the ducks in the background must have driven you quackers
Its a LOVELY change to hear the Welsh language being rsepected
It's a beautiful language and it's lovely to be able to share it
Now be careful, if you keep feeding Ian like that he will not fit under any cars in future and you will have to buy a ramp! As always fascinating tales of Wales, Aberaeron looks wonderful, a good place to visit when we are staying with our friends in Pembrokeshire. So glad you got on the You Tube circuit, I hope your channel grows and grows lovely lady.
Thank you. I shall try and keep him trim and under car fit
@@misshubnut I wish you every success with a man who, like me, loves a carb!!!
Hello Miss Hubnut. I am trying to loose weight, you'll be the absolute death of me yet! I have already suggested to Ian that you folks come and visit us in South Africa when circumstances permit.
Your videos are highly informative. I basically know nothing about Wales- very good
Spooky.
I remember the cable car in the early 90’s as a small child, also the honey ice cream I think we had 3 in one day once! Oh oh and the aquarium!
I don't blame you, it's delicious! I remember the aquarium!
I went there once on a camping holiday - the weather was no better and it was Sunday so it was closed. Couldn't even get a drink. To add insult to injury I was with the ex-Mrs but not all was lost as we made the trip in my 1978 Citroen GS - the poverty spec 11oo cc jobbie - lovely drive.
You can drink on Sundays now, I remember the vote for it.
Splendid 👍
love the video and love the welsh language
Truly Scrumptious - you snuck in an obscure car reference there... 😃
All the colours, Tobermory in Wales, i love it.
MacLeod, Son of Leod. that's our second name. Great video BTW; when we're out and about, one of the things if not the most important (according to what my wife thinks, i think is important) Is café's and restaurant's and where are they; so when you're including such delights in your videos it's highly appreciated, well to at least me anyway lol.
Great video Miss hubnut
I’m a new sub and I like miss hubnut, full of interesting info 👏
Really well presented. I’m impressed and will be subscribing. I already subscribe to HubNut. We are going to Aberaeron next week after a few days in Portmeirion so this has given us some good pointers. Unfortunately our timing is rubbish as I would have liked to have gone to the HubNut Social at Brooklands as we live quite close and I have started doing some volunteering there. We are Aberaeron for 2 nights so we can legitimately try two types of ice cream!
My parents live there and, yes, "Balamory" for sure! 😊
Oh my, that bubblewaffle thing, that is just utterly delectable looking, and I crave such a thing now, only I don't know if anyone does such things round where I am... :P
Fabulous , as always . Wish you were my neighbours 😀.
Been to abearoron, dident know they had a railway station, great history to learn and know
The church looks quite magnificent.
I am loving learning Welsh history but as a T2 diabetic just watching this is making my blood sugar spike.
Hi both I love the video and I think you could do a video on food 😊but thanks again and take care both 😊👍🏻
What a lovely town. I think you should visit the UK's smallest city next which is St Davids, which is also famous for the filming of a certain wizarding film.
As yes Dobby's grave is that way I believe
@@misshubnut apparently they filmed a scene near the cathedral as well.
The captions strike again 🤣🤣 don't think you really were in Avareron Croissant at 7 seconds in 😂
Great video Miss HN
Diolch yn fawr iawn. Love your films. The Welsh Tourist Board should be paying you!!
" you know when you eat something and you can't stop thinking about it"..... is an extremely Miss Hub nut thing to say.
Ha indeed it is!
Did Mr Hubnut actually eat the salad then? 😄 Great guide to a picturesque town.
He actually did!
