I just had a woman CHOP my hair off 😭 it fell out during homelessness... After I grew it out for two years ... I won a makeover! Now.... She was a "curl specialist" and cut my hair curly,. And because I wanted it flat ironed she did so... But it's like CHOPPY and uneven 🥲 I've been waiting and watching hair growth videos to start my curl and growth journey...... Because honestly I am the girl who absolutely hates my curls! I feel SO MUCH better watching this! Thank you so much! This is the shortest my hair has ever been and I was devastated at first... By looking at your wonderful natural curly hair. I now really miss my own natural curls and wavy hair ... I hated it so much and was extremely insecure about my curls back then. And decided to go for permanent hair smoothening . Even tho the results were really impressive but idk why i feel so regret of losing my natural looks.
I don’t have Instagram but I still wanted to share where I’m at :)
I practically shaved my head in late 2021 and as it grew out I dyed three times and the following year I straightened it every day, if not my whole head it would just be my bangs. March of 2023 marked where I realised I had at least waves (I had curls as a kid but they never got taken care of) and I didn’t want to cut my hair again because I was trying to grow it back out. I bought the products, got the diffuser and I could get defined waves and maybe a few loose curls, but nowhere near as defined or curly today (much like trulees sister) over the summer I went almost completely natural when I wasn’t in school, now I just try to keep my hair natural for as much of the week as possible. I have 2c-3b hair, it is low porosity, down to my armpits (but it shrinks to my shoulders) and I’m proud to be a curly girl :)
Edit: I got one trim haircut of just my ends and three layered haircuts since then, with the occasional bang trim.

If you don't already, get layers! I had hair similar to what you're describing and I got layers and my waves became so much more defined!

So, I have just recently tried the hair test and I’ve realized that my hair just floats. It doesn’t sink at all, however I have looser curls I believe. I still am trying to figure out what texture my hair actually is. This helped me a little more to figure out sort of what kind of hair I actually have. Thank youuu, love you ❤️

I can believe she’s planning on doing a giveaway!! When she said that I immediately listened very closely:) I think my hair is 3a/3b but I feel like it could be curlier, it’s like my hair is telling me I’m doing something wrong and it needs a little more help. I have tried so many different products with my mom(she has like 3a curls) and I still haven’t found the perfect things. I do use a hair gel that has protein in it, and so far that’s the best one I’ve tried meanwhile my mom hates it and it does not work for her. I’d love to be considered for the giveaway, since I’ve tried so many things and still can’t seem to get the right products for my hair and it might help my moms hair have more life too. I love Trulee so much, her personality is just great and her hair is so beautiful!! Idk why, but I’ve always wished that my hair was curlier than it is bc I convinced myself that if it wasn’t super curlier than it’s not curly. Which is not true! But I have thought that for a long time. I have a lot of problems with frizz and my hair naturally makes giant curl clumps. Which is great but when I try to pull them apart the individual curls don’t look very good, so I usually just have big curl clumps. THANK YOU TRULEE, love you!!💗💗
I did all the things, currently at that stage where I recognize I need help and I am actually trying to do something with my hair. I have pretty much always been a curly girl but do the quickest and easiest job just to say my hair is done. I watch all the curly hair videos but the plethora of information and sheer volume of products available turns out to be quite overwhelming. I end up just sticking to the same because I don’t know exactly where to start doing better. I occasionally have a good hair day but most are meh at best. I would leave my IG handle but it’s different than my YT name and I don’t want to put my name out for everyone.

I used to be the same way I used to straighten my hair every day and then I did do a really big chop and I kept like that for a while cause I loved my hair short but even then it’s still never curled like it used to. It’s like a lesser curl now and then when I brush it out, it almost goes straight.

You are absolutely gorgeous. I used to be a curly girl. I had ringlet curls but they were soft. In the photos you showed it seems your hair had a lot more curl definition than what I’m seeing now. I see some curl but mostly frizz. What did you do differently back then? Seems like you should be doing whatever it was in order to get better definition of your curls. I do like the red on you though!

I've been following you for awhile and you and your sister really inspire me to be kinder to my hair. So this is me giving this giveaway a shot !
I'm at a year after cutting half my hair off impulsively from not being satisfied by how it looked. Previously, it had been bleached and not taken care of. I never put anything on it (except gel for buns) for YEARS and it grew, shockingly. In fact, when I cut it, it was the longest it had ever been.
I unfortunately don't know if it was me having a bad day or my hair actually being bad because at that point, I was actually taking care of it.
All that aside, I just have a hard time figuring out products for me. I'm not really in a financial position to try a whole lot of things and potentially waste money. I do know that I have medium low porosity, I suffer from frizz, and have 3B/C hair (like Skyla's). I do still straighten my hair and always have, but I don't get affected by heat damage because my hair stays straight once straightened so I don't straighten it everyday (sometimes I do fix my bangs but on lower heat). One day I hope to get a curly cut. Until then, I do my own cuts, like Skyla did in a short, at home every few months.

Aw thank you!! I believe that having curly hair shouldn’t be unattainable or intimidating. Haircuts and repurchasing products are already expensive and when you have curly hair both of those things are somewhat frequent. I try my best to balance out the price range of the products that I’m trying out and recommending so that there’s recommendations for those who prefer something affordable or something to splurge on😋
Nature Republic's Aloe Vera gel is pretty good is good for the hair being 92% and helps keep my hair both defined and moisturized in the winter months here in Korea. But both Jeju's and Lalafolie's 100% aloe vera gel is 100% and slightly better for the skin in my experience.
I have afro like curls and I find it so hard to maintain to the point where I just stopped taking care of it and now I have locks in my hair and im absolutely ashamed of myself

I have tried to start my curly hair journey for so long but nothing has worked yet so I guess you could say I’m at the very beginning of my journey😅
hey trulee, so basically, i had a keratine treatment in 2021-2022 because my family convinced me of the fact that i had "unmanageable" hair. My mum also didn't know how to take care of it, like i was always in a bun, not even a ponytail. i got hair from my father's side which my mum often fought with so they didn't help much either. The only help we got was my grandma who died in 2019-2018. after she died i got the keratine treatment and basically i have 4A-4B and a lil bit of 3C hair. My hair came until my ass, like even longer. However when I got the treatment it all fell out and its currently about your length. I've gotten a couple of cuts in the last year and they kinda helped. However, not that much. Now, i'm tryna get my curls back to how they looked. But I'm struggling defining the top. Like the bottom is JUICY. but the top? I'm gen struggling. So, anyone tips?
Try adding gel to roots (this may cause hair to be flat but your hair will be defined ) also doing hair in shower might help if you have frizzy hair .

I personally do not have curly hair but watch hours and hours of videos trying to find new tricks in taking care of both my daughter’s hair… nothing seems to work so I will definitely be trying some of these tricks !!! My oldest loves wearing her hair out but it always seems to be so dry .. so we mostly just keep it in braids ! I hope this will help a lot ❤
My hair is kinda wavy like 2a and when I shower my hair easily gets wet . I thought my hair porosity would’ve been high like the one that sinks to the bottom and my hair is still floating at the top hasn’t sunk in at all … I’m so confused lol I thought if your hair wasn’t really curly that you would have high porosity hair but I guess not ? So people with straight hair can have low porosity hair ?
Also I just got outta the shower like an hour ago idk if that would affect it .. My hair is dry though so I did the test with dry hair lol

Hiya! Well basically ive had curly hair since i was a child but i hated it so much so i did get keratine treatment twice and had my crown/bangs relaxed to many times to count but i really regret it , basically my curls went from being tight to quite loose but my curl pattern is kinda all over the place now but ive been trying to heal it so its been almost 1 year since ive gotten it straightened, i do have low porosity hair its just i can't seem to find the perfect cut or routine it's always frizzy I'd love some tips tho or for you to help me that would mean the world!

I buy from so many different places!! Yes style, the detox market, Sephora, random beauty supply’s, Sally’s, chatters etc. I typically recommend shopping at a beauty supply first because they have the largest selection & usually the people working there have curly hair themselves and can share what they personally use. However some brands have hair quiz tools are their website that’s also helpful to see what might work for you!!
