Where I live in the US we call October 30th Cabbage Night- not sure why because it’s definitely a night for mischief! Great video!

@@LucyLoveCraftASMR No, they mostly smash Jack o’Lanterns or throw things at houses. I’ve had my clothes line cut to pieces and one year my children’s swing set was disassembled!

Cabbages used to be a divination tool for young couples to "see" the health and wealth of their futures... all the better if they were stolen from other people. And that kind of evolved over time into stealing people's garden veggies and making a mess with them. A predecessor to the Halloween egging and tp-ing traditions. It's possible your area was one of those places in the US that was "terrorized" by kids ransacking their gardens back in the 1800s- early 1900s!
