Bastion's story is just sad. Imagine that after humanity's extinction, you wake up propped against a tree in some forgotten place, and you suffer PTSD from Vietnam, your first friend is a songbird, and you see what you would have called abominations everywhere, replacing everything you knew. Your family is all dead, and they were called cosmic mistakes. That's essentially what Bastion experienced.
with this perpective Bastion heavy COD personality, is now more understandable, as it's all he has left.
It really is sad. But at least he has company. Even if it's a songbird.

Same here. The new Assault configuration is a genius move that should've happened sooner, but everything else is a direct downgrade that didn't need to happen.
And I do mean *everything.*
the new ultimate, his mortar, is pretty f'ing useless, the little grenade he can fire is also pretty useless but that's about all that's downgraded, everything else is the same or maybe a bit better
@@idkanymore6897 Actually, I found some great use with the grenade.
The problem with it is that it's being used as a replacement for the self-heal instead of something to go alongside it.
One might say having both at once would be overpowered, but I'd just say they can make both abilities reliant on the same fuel meter for balance reasons.
EDIT: Also, I don't see the new recon as equal or better. Sure, it's *technically* better at long range, but it sucks ass up close and isn't any better at mid range.
Seeing as "up close" was my favorite distance with OW1 Bastion and my aim stopped working after mid, this is a direct downgrade for me.

Bastion is such an awesome name for this specific character. Bastion (of hope). Which resembles his duality in having to choose whether he wants to let go of the past and move on or dwell on his past and how humanity murdered almost all his kind and celebrated. So hes a bastion of hope for the bridge between Humanity and Omnic's . Or alternatively it could be interpreted as the bastion of hope for either humanity (peaceful co-existence) or the omnic's (waging a second war on the humans.)

As a bastion main I can confirm that this is how it is every match I play. Everyone always wants me to get off bastion even tho I have the highest damage and the most kills in our team. And I never see anyone else play bastion.
