Great job to your guys parents. Two little sweethearts that are gentle, patient and sympathetic. It's so hard to see siblings being this nice to each other when teaching each other something important nowadays. Refreshing to see you guys interact.
Very patient teacher, bro and great pointers. Little sis has one heck of a successful first try, kick start tecnique. I agree, nothing like your first two-stroke with a clutch. Great video. KK
The fact that she was able to drive on her first go is awesome. Not many can go around a tree or any other obstacle on their first go. She wasn't afraid to turn that wheel and go where she wanted to. Nice!
Your a great brother, ain’t nothing better than leaning how to ride a dirt bike for the first time, you can tell she really digs it, can’t wait to see her on her own pink 125 Yami 🤙🏼
Very sweet video. You showed patience, encouragement, and kindness. You are a good brother and your sister seemed to appreciate it. She learned quickly, too. Impressive. Nicely done, Goat.
It’s great that your teaching your sister. Tell her to always pull in clutch for every gear including neutral. Goes in neutral a lot easier with clutch in. Show her rear brake too.
She did good for the first time , if she gets the concept, she will be racing in no time, thanks , please keep us up to date on her prog, ok thanks BigAl California
My process for teaching a newbie on a bike with a clutch. “Little throttle, release the clutch just to move like a foot, over and over. Each time going farther and farther. Once they learn that control, then clutch out and ride.”
PLEASE first explain the concept of how the clutch works FIRST. To first timers its just a word-concept. Teach them how a clutch engages the engine to the drive system.
you expect him to give her a 5hr course on all the working of the bike? its not a fighter jet. when we were kids we just hopped on with minimal explanation and we were good to go. shes not gonna understand all that shit on her first ride and she dont really need to. they did just fine here
Yea, they did fine. I wouldn't try to explain to much to fast. She might get overwhelmed. The most important thing you want her to remember is to not dump the clutch going into gear.
This looks pretty straightforward, but still a little intimidating. I just got to make sure not to panic. If your sister can learn in less than 20 minutes, I think I can too
It’s not hard to learn you just have to be willing too! I’m 25 years old and my husband just bought me a KLX140 ( a kids bike) and I can barely keep up with my 6 year old 😭😂 it takes time
If I'm trying to teach someone I like to idle it up a bit if I need to and let them ease out on the clutch slowly with no throttle and just idle around in first pulling in the clutch and stopping, letting out slowly on the clutch again and repeat that idling around stopping and taking off with no throttle a while before even getting into giving it gas.giving it way to much throttle and crashing usually freaks people out and they don't even want to try anymore.then I teach them how to work the throttle and shift and downshift and so on but you can't stress low speed throttle control enough, people who don't know tend to give a quarter of the the throttle if you don't tell them be very gentle with as soon as things get jerky they freak out and do all kinds of crazy stuff.but very gentle take offs and stops just keeping it upright then going faster and shifting later.
1 easier way for a beginner to start off with the clutch is, just give it a bit more gas than idle with the clutch in, then let the clutch out slowly until it starts grabbing (but not stalling). Then hold the clutch lever there and slowly (just controlled), give it more gas and you will start rolling. Then flow the clutch out the rest of the way, (and ready to pull it in a bit if it bogs), as you continue giving it the gas. It is not taught anymore, but we used to keep a finger or two on the clutch and brake lever at all times (one is probably good with the ease of the levers today). If we were looping out, for one example, (ever do that whiskey throttle as you fall off the back of the bike?), our finger is on the clutch to control/cut the power to the wheel. it is harder to keep a finger on the controls with today's high handlebar set up from freestyle, and level levers. Your wrists would be bent a lot, inviting wrist injury.
Always have your clutch in while you’re sitting still; for safety measures…then after starting engine..down shift to first gear and then give some gas; and then ease out the clutch.

Well done to both of you. You have good patience, and a good teaching method young man. 👍🏼. Sister picked up on the basics pretty quickly, because you let her do the things she needed to learn herself. 👍🏼 Keep riding, and stay. safe. ish. 😂
If you bike is not stock with that upside down twist throttle cable housing, you should rotate it back up, and make sure the cable is routed correctly. Many people have had a stuck/pinched/kinked cable housing, stick the throttle when turning corners. I kind of liked the set up at first. It is not as vulnerable as it is on top, but it would also hit the top of my leg in right hand corners with my leg out, and I would not want my leg putting force on the end of that cable housing.
Not bad at all 3rd times the charm👌 my first bike was a 92 RM 125 took me a couple of tries to get the hang of it too eventually it becomes second nature great job🤘
Well done young lady, 2 strokes can be a little troublesome to get used to at first. I owned two Italian two stroke racing bikes in my younger years, the Cagiva Mito 125 and the Aprilia RS125. The former I took naturally to it much to my surprise but the latter was more troublesome for me. The bike demanded more revs to get going compared to the Mito, I always felt like maybe I'd put it right through a wall at times, like 4000RPM just to get going but in the end it was all about finessing the clutch. It's all about the muscle memory, it'll come natural eventually.
She will get the goin just takes some practice two strokes, a little bit harder ride than a four stroke but when you learn two stroke I think it a lot better to me bc you can just hold the gas wide open and just clutch it
let me help u out a bit so when ur letting out the clutch dont tell her to let it out slowly its way better to teach her first about the clutch engage point so let out the clutch slowly until the bike starts moving when it starts moving slowly give gas without letting go of the clutch completely and when ur in moderate speed then let go of it completely im 12 and it only took me 2 days to learn how to ride my yz85 big wheel because my brother told me about trying to find the clutch engage point and mostly because i already know how to drive a manual car (im not riding it in the street i learned in my backyard) so its not that different its just in 2 wheels
Clutch is always a p-i-t-a. I have experience. I started to ride in -85 with those cute, red caramels back then (not anymore) called HONDA Z50E MONKEY, which were wonderful to torture in the forest smoking and hot under you. They had NO CLUTCH no fiddling irritating complexity but they were semi-automatic 4-stroke silent lovely little love bugs. Girls loved them too especially many girls on one poor thing that struggled. Today, everything comes from sadistic China (Jincheng Monkey etc) I recommend NOT to buy made in China if you don't want a CHinese future. The original Monkey was Japanese.
When I was 15 all it took was my boss to tell me this is the clutch, this is front brake and this is rear brake, 1st is down, neutral half up from first, the others up... Never let my dirt bike 125cc 4 stroke die once, always started smooth and was already doing donuts and burnouts in the next minute 😁 Anyway I was already pretty used to bicycles and how clutch and gears worked from my father's car and games...

If lil bro teaches you how to stop quickly, then you can go at any speed you're comfortable with coz you know how to slow down and stop. Have fun both of you! ❤️✌️
Nooo--front brake has very much most of the stopping power. You can race a bike with no back brake, but you won't be fast with out the front. The fact is, you can grab the front brake hard when you are not leaned over. You just let off a bit if it starts locking up and sliding out. You are still controlling the lever. Try this. When coming into a corner, and your straight, use the brakes aggressively, but pump the front lever like anti-lock brakes do. If you break traction a bit, you are letting off anyway. You can brake pretty hard in the beginning of a berm too, because your wheels are pretty perpendicular to the berm slope, but you are scrubbing your speed there. Leaned over on flatter ground? The more you are leaned over, the less braking you can do. But when you are vertical, you can get back and brake hard. It is usually best to use both at the same time, and downshift if needed.
i think a better way to teach how to get rolling is to show where the friction zone is by giving no gas allowing the bike to move on its own and then applying gas to go faster. its difficult for beginners to hold the throttle steady and simultaneously let the clutch out slowly
