Dont let your right hand know what the left hand is doing..... LOL 😀😁😂😃😄😅😆 you taught me more in a few minutes than I ever have known in 60 yrs concerning the piano.🎹🎹🎹🎵🎶♩ Thanks Ms Natalie Raynes ⚘⚘⚘
Thank you Natalie. I love this. And your Fundamentals in Hymn Playing course is absolutely wonderful. I watch it over and over. Worth every penny. And more.
As much as I want to avail your lessons, I still don't have enough money yet. That's why your free tutorial videos really helping me a lot! God bless you, always, Ma'am! From Philippines :)
Hello Natalie, I just want to thank you so much for sharing your knowledge to us. I'm learning to improvise Hymns to accompany our church congregational singing and I'm learning a lot from you. Godbless you Natalie!
It was great meeting you last night at the camp meeting. I’m beginning to regret giving my piano to my granddaughter when I watch you teach. I did call her and tell her to let my great granddaughter watch this (she has taken piano lessons for the past three years).
Thank you so much for this video and for all you do, Mrs Natalie! I was so ecstatic to be able to meet you in North Carolina earlier this year, and getting to hear you play in person was such a blessing and honor!
This is so helpful to me! I've taught myself hymn playing accompaniment through the years and heard this style but couldn't quite figure it out! You've explained it so well!! Thank you!
Thank you for doing these tutorial videos! I would greatly enjoying seeing more videos on different improvising tips and giving familiar songs a different sound.
Your tutorial has been immensely helpful. Your playing seems so smooth. I like the way you keep time even you are doubling the melody. Thank you so very much.
This is so helpful! In the past, to get that faster rhythmic sound, I’ve always tried (without much accuracy) to go for that double time stride in my left hand as my base pattern, which is so much more stressful! This is so much easier and relaxed sounding because you only need to do quarter notes in the LH as the base, giving much more room to add from there without being so fast as to be stressful. Thanks so much! Will definitely be incorporating in my playing! -Kevin H.
Thanks for sharing what you do I sing with a quartet The Cavilers and go to many churches and piano players are not around any more I play and people come up to me and ask me how to play you play like I do and you explain it better than I do so I’m putting them on your channel hope you don’t mind
I totally get what you mean when you’re explaining the right hand rhythm, but I have small hands, so I’m struggling to play some of the four note chords. Do you have any tips for this type of problem??? 🙏🏼 Thanks ☺️
This technique is called broken stride. Instead of quickly moving the octave on eighth notes as with stride as double bass - 4 note chord, we're taking bass doubles in the left and triads in the right while playing a straight melody on top. Ragtime would further add the feel of sixteenth note rolls.
I am working with piano instructor out of the royal conservatory of music, i am in book 6 out of 10.. And yes we work work on hymns. I would love to play the hymns like you do. Do you sale a piano method book for your approach to hymn and gospel music playing for pianist? That i can work threw
Hi! I just purchased some music from your website and accidentally purchased “He Lives” twice. Can I exchange that extra purchase for another hymnal sheet music? By the way, I love your music and improvisation of the hymns!
I would love a tutorial with tips for playing red back hymns faster. I prefer tempos like this, but our church sings ones like Heavens Jubilee, A New World, His Love Lights the Way super fast. Sometimes I get bored because I feel like I’m having to play so basic because there’s not time for anything else!
Natalie this is a sma ing demonstration of your mud is shop z keep this going g Thsnk you Josh for supporting magslirin this instruction what about eho is Josh n Natalie Reggie Natalie

Sister Nathalie, Can It be applied in any kind of Hymnal songs, the right Notes + beats?
Wonderful! I'm not nearly there, but thank you!
