5 years ago to this day I purchased my 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. I often get asked all kinds of question here on UA-cam and on Instagram on how my ownership experience has been so I like to use these anniversaries as a way to tell everyone what all has happened. The good, the bad & the ugly. To save y'all the time, I still love it! Here's to the next 5 years!
with regards to maintenance, is there anything that prevents you from doing the oil/filter change yourself? I'm weird and like to do that myself. btw I remember when you replaced your BRZ with this car (at least I think that was you), and I'm glad to say that I'm finally in a position to do the same myself in a couple years. either this or a camaro zl1 1le
Such a fantastic Mustang. I'm guessing it still as special hearing that Voodoo fire up as day one. Maybe even more with the exhaust mod. With the end of the V8 coming and the GT350 the only Ford to use this high tech, high revving Voodoo. You own a very special car. Thanks for sharing your beautiful 2017 Shelby GT350.
@@TheWhatYouNeed it's manufactured by Ford. Ford pays Shelby America for the licensing fee to use the Shelby name. It's not built by Shelby. If you read my comment. I called his Mustang a 2017 GT350.
@@TheWhatYouNeed yea it's a mustang built by Ford performance in the Ford factory. Alot of that is probably the manual trans I would wager you're a stick guy who truly enjoys the art of driving a manual trans like myself? Is there a rev matching on 17 gt350? I am a 20 bullitt onwer, I thought I was a good manual driver until I did a test driver on a 16 gt350 without rev matching.... I found rev matching is real helpful.
@@nobody6273 I've been driving Honda stick shifts my whole life and I don't understand why Rev matching is necessary. I currently have a 280HP Honda accord V6. I've been doing it the last 30 years, 4 different Hondas, and never had a problem with clutches...
@@ron9269 yeah, rev-matching prevents the clutch from going from a much lower RPM to a much higher RPM quickly. This overheats the friction surfaces and causes premature wear and unnecessary drive line shock. Quick throttle blip before you release the clutch after selecting your gear will prolong the life of your clutch. Street driving, that might not be a huge deal but if you try to pop the clutch out on every downshift when you are track driving a car it will overheat the clutch and the throw out bearing very quickly. On track, there's something called "heel toe" shifting which requires that you blip the throttle with your braking foot while simultaneously applying braking pressure so you can quickly downshift to select the correct gear for a corner exit. Cars equipped with autoblip allow a driver to focus on braking with their foot instead of having to work double duty and helps the driver by automatically revving the engine to make downshifts smoother during performance driving.

I'm stuck between buying this gt350r and slapping on a turbo vs buying the 2022 gt500. Is there any difference between the voodoo engine vs the Predator besides the supercharger?
I’d go for the 500. I believe it’s a cross plane instead of a flat plane. I personally don’t like mods like added turbos, and the DCT might have some issues but overall seems better. If you like manuals, that’s a different story
The 19 and 20 supposedly got the rods and stuff from the gt500 so other than the fact it's flat plane vs cross plane and manual vs dct otherwise they're similar. Voodoo is 12:1 compression as it was meant to make power na and gt500 is 9.5:1 compression. Otherwise i think they're pretty close. I'd do the gt350 just because I'm a manual guy I honestly think it looks better too just my .02
How the F did you buy that car at 19? Don't tell me your worked, we all work. No Fing 19 is buying a brand new 80k car unless good parents helped him. C'mon man!

He’s doing well enough to have several expensive vehicles and appears to also own his own home too. He’s looking successful.(At least that’s the appearance.)
I had a 2021 GT Premium with a manual MT82 transmission. Complete garbage! I could put up with the cheap plastic interior, engine tick and the glitchy electronics, but the drive train was garbage. Kept the GT for 2 months and unloaded it....was a pile of junk. Bought a real car from another manufacturer with a standard TREMEC couldn't be happier...FU FORD! BTW - if you did buy this POS with a MT82 you can join the class action suit.
You are clueless lol. Gt350s have a tremec and older gt500s have a tremec tr6060. Thr mt82 isn't the only option on the Ford side. Why do you say your trans was junk because others said it is or did you actually have problems? Much of the issues are clutch related and blamed on the Trans I see them hold up being raced in applications with forced induction so they must not be that crappy. You only had the car for 2 months so exactly what kind of issues were you having? Or was it like I said before you just heard others saying they are bad so you got rid of it before you had issues basing your entire life around internet hearsay like everyone else does? Which is it?

The 19 and 20 supposedly got the rods and stuff from the gt500 so other than the fact it's flat plane vs cross plane and manual vs dct otherwise they're similar. Voodoo is 12:1 compression as it was meant to make power na and gt500 is 9.5:1 compression. Otherwise i think they're pretty close. I'd do the gt350 just because I'm a manual guy I honestly think it looks better too just my .02
I bought my Shelby gt350 cash at 19 I recently turned 21 and man I love this car 😭 I got it with 10k miles it has 31k as of now
How the F did you buy that car at 19? Don't tell me your worked, we all work. No Fing 19 is buying a brand new 80k car unless good parents helped him. C'mon man!
@@failingup4907 everyone does it at their own pace and time sounds like u hating lol and I didn’t get no help from my parents
@@failingup4907 incase u were interested s550 gt500 on the way
Congrats on 5 years of ownership! Also, is the carbon fiber dash (near the AC vents) aftermarket? Or did the car come with it. Very nice.
Aftermarket, I forgot to mention that!
Where did you get the car on fiber dash? What’s the part number? Love the videos!
With all the vehicles you have now you obviously can afford ac in garage? 👍🏻😊
Is the 350r worth the extra 10k?
We should race sometime, I wanna get a baseline on where my fbo GT is at
12k miles in 5 years, you barely drive this thing, I would like to see voodoo engines reviews in the 60k miles, and see how reliable this things really are.
What’s your mileage now?
I hope you get a phone mount for you car lol!!
awesome car tho man. i love it. dream car.
great vid
I got to buy one
I’d love to be able to have that car and just keep it for as long as possible it’s a dying breed almost like driving a dinosaur.
S197 💪✊🏁!!
Damn you make a great case for mustangs, Ford should pay u
Or just sell me a GT500 for MSRP…
@@TexasRevving thats a bridge too far 🤣
I'm glad it was a daily driver I don't wanna buy a car like that and not drive it
You can drive them plenty and enjoy them without it being an every day car. It's not garage queen or daily nothing in between lol.
Dream car
Why do you own a cheap ford truck and not have a TRX
He bought the car when he was 19? 😂. That car new is like 80-90k. By the time he's 25 he has a Raptor and a GT500. Dude was 19! It's not like your making 6 figures at 19. You Judi got done with high school. How is no one calling BS on this?
If he was a trust fund baby, I'd believe it.
I love all these young guys with multiple $100,000 cars. Please someone tell me what I'm missing here..
Bro wtf do you do for work lol
He’s doing well enough to have several expensive vehicles and appears to also own his own home too. He’s looking successful.(At least that’s the appearance.)
I sold my gt350 for a way better car Lexus Lc 500 and Porsche s4 did your engine blow up yet .
Mine has 32k miles on her and she's running fine : )
😍
Bro only 6000 miles in 5 years ? I know it's your car and it's your choice and you do you man but goddamn what a waste
When did I say it only had 6k miles?
@@TexasRevving on the screen 7:15
@@pinkpanther6443 LMFAO he tried to make you look dumb and you caught his ass with the mileage. That's good stuff.
That's from his old videos few years ago...
GT350s have a tremec
