When I was a senior in high school we sang this during the graduation ceremony. There were 15 of us that sand this without the music in front us. It was wonderful
I sang this 50 years ago and when I listen to this and close my eyes, I'm back in the choir room. Priceless times for me back then. Our choir was picked for Concert's Abroad that year... Lindenhurst High School choir.
Muchas gracias.
@@anastasiyasychova494 I actually met Randall Thompson when I was 16. He came to Tampa, Florida where I lived and listened to us perform his Frostiana. Thank you for keeping his music in front of the world.
Ditto Rozlin313. Tears of joy. Sang this in high school nearly 50 yrs ago. One of the most beautiful pieces. Mrs. Sychova did a nice job. Us Sopranos can so overpower the other 3 parts which are so very important here.
This was outstanding We did not perform this in this tempo however We did this very very slow Adagio Why are they singing so fast like that ) I sang my entire part right along with them Alto 1 But for this Mezzo/soprano was uncomfortable so Ms Levine placed me in Alto 2 section And that was in the 70’s God bless you for posting this My face is wet and I am overcome I thought I might never hear this again I simply could not remember Randal Thompson and it’s amazing how many do not know this piece Why so unpopular Or a y of the Gregory Chants ( Mozart) for that matter Learning this impressed me so much at times I world dream of this and my sheet music and sing in my dream I think this is why I rem it now in my 60’s no less that last 12 grade performance Mastering this was required to pass It was our final Rip Ms Levine Choral Director I adored Her ! They sound fantastic But fir me simply to fast We sang this so slow lofty profoundly serious adoring the LORD and to HIM BE ALL GLORY TY
When we sang this in high school (50+ years ago), I had no idea how hard it was to sing this song well. After singing it other amateur groups I soon learned, a lesson reaffirmed in a plethora of YT videos. This performance was very good, maybe one of the best on YT, but even so, it could have been better. Not a reflection on this choir, rather a confirmation of this song's difficulty.
I sang this in 1977 at my highschool graduation......my heart is SO FULL!! This and The Lord Bless you and Keep you..most beautiful pieces for me
Thank you
I sang this almost fifty years ago at Michigan State University. This is a marvelous interpetation of Thompson's work.
Thank you🙂

I like her conducting and the chorus is wonderful. This is a beautiful piece of music.

I've listened to a lot of recordings of "Alleluia," and this one represents all that Thompson wanted it to be. Bravo! Incredibly well done.
Thank you very much!

We sang this when I was a senior in high school. It won the Best-in-State prize in Florida in 1970. Thank you Mr. Copeland.

I found that the most difficult part of singing this piece was mastering the text.

I would follow that conductor through the gates of hell.

dA onde é este coral?
Randall Thompson "Alleluia"
This is the way Arpad Daraz taught it.
Excellent both conductor and choir. However, i would prefer a little slower tempo and not that "metronomic".
Thank you!
