Nice, I finally got on my first ever laker this weekend. It was not as easy as you made it look lol! My first action camera was a go-pro back in 2013 and it gave me nothing but problems in WNY's extreme weather. I've used other brands ever since.
Glad you got into one. It’s a unique bite and a cool fight in the river. I’ve had good luck with the GoPro 10 and an old session I use as a second angle. The batteries were a problem until I found the cold weather battery they sell. So far so good. Thanks for watching!
Same here. He works hard but has a hard time catching them. I give him credit for the hours spent. He’s not giving up, in the video we dropped this morning he has his day!
How long of a rod are you using for this? A have an older 8'3" light rod i was thinking of rigging up to just try this but i know others use longer. Its my fathers old steelhead rod so i hope it holds up
Yeah, try and get more hook ups on film you’re always cutting out and then you come back when you’ve got a fish on show some of the hook ups too and I’ve never typed one of those double rig for beads. I’ve always just use a single body explain to me how you do thatthat would be great like you just nodding another leader lying onto the other hook or is there a little clip or clever you’re using?
Thanks for watching! Always tough getting the hook sets. The double bead rig is a section of line tied too the hook eyelet and then the second section of line going too the second bead in the rig is tied too the hook shank. The second section section of line is not as strong as the first so the entire rig usually won’t break off when snagged, hope this helps.
@@willsworldoutdoors I'm always opposite to you guys, and rarely see anyone pulling in anything including myself, unless from a boat. Seems alot more net jobs happening from your side for sure. The current is in every direction from shore on our side, you can watch your bobber drift away then it comes right back. Yours seems consistent. 🇨🇦 Makes it difficult to fish anywhere purposely anyways, and 🇺🇲 seems to promote it. Will have to cross over and give it a try I guess. Love your videos either way.
I'd say Oct/early Nov based on the foliage on the trees. Steelhead generally aren't in (in larger numbers) until late Nov/early Dec. Laker bite has slowed substantially in the past week or so.
The hook-up rate from boat is generally 20:1 compared to those fishing from shore. Some boaters were landing 20-30 lakers over the course of an hour or two during the Oct/Nov time frame. Lakers are also not in season until 12/1.
Nice Jumbo Lakers 👍👍got to have sore arms after a morning like that but worth it 😁
Those fish put up a crazy fight for sure.
Great video.
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
Man i think its time you let Tom stand on that rock and get a fish 😂 Awsome time
I would but he has his name on a different one. lol Tight lines!
the trout master on the net!! LOL
Best net man ever! Hahaha
Yep mvp of the day is definitely Tom!! He made this all possible

Great video was really cool meeting you that day I ended up landing my new pb steelhead at the power plant later on that day too.
Nice job! Good to meet you as well. Tight lines!
Did Tom by chance net it for you😂
@@joecuillo5005 not sure lol but this vid was recorded like a month before
I really like watching you guys but I Wpuld have liked to have see Tom catch some
Fish.....

Yes let Tom in their for a swing or 2😂
Great video. What lb. Test are you using for your main line, and leader?
Thanks! The mainline is 12 pound and the leader is 8 or 10 pound floor depending on water color.
That was awesome thanks
Glad you liked it! Tight lines.
Buddy is dialed 👊
It’s been a good year so far!
Lakers are fun, remember catching monsters on the ganny years ago, they seemed to disappear.
Big fish are always fun!
I remember being spooled when I was a kid and there was nothing I could do about it. My father in-law said that must've been a laker
i hate drift boats its nice too see you guys getting them right in front of them wtg
On days when the water is a little dirty the fishing is actually better from shore. It’s tough for the boats to get in tight. Thanks for watching!

My centerpin rod is 14’ and my dad’s spinning rod is a 12’6”. And 8’3” would work though.
If you don’t mined. I’ve been looking for this location for a while. Where is this location? Any info is appreciated. Tight lines and good job today.
Thanks for checking out our videos! This was filmed in the Lower Niagara River. Good luck!
Thanks man keep up great videos.
What’s setup are you rocking?
My rod is a 12’ 6” Fenwick HMX UL with a Lews Mach Crush. Thanks for watching!
@@willsworldoutdoors Right on! Thanks for the tip. Tight lines

It's crazy the difference in amount of fish from your side of the river to the other side where the camera is looking at 🇨🇦 😢.
Are there fewer fish on your side of the river? I have always envied some of the drifts I see over there.

We filmed it in November. Tight lines!
@@willsworldoutdoors Great fishing!
Are the boaters always that disrespectful?

The boaters are just doing the drift. No disrespect for the most part. They pass pretty quickly with the current.
It’s only bad when there are a lot of them or like if 5 in a row come by
