"Gamblers at a roulette table looking to double their money traditionally face the choice of putting it all on black or red. And on Black / Red, their landmark 12th album, Feeder also go for a high-stakes double: 18 tracks, two “discs” and one raised middle finger to today’s supposedly TikTok-ravaged short attention spans.
Luckily, if there’s any band that could be described as a sure thing, it’s probably Feeder. There’s barely been a misstep across those dozen records and while this trilogy-concluding follow-up to 2022’s excellent Torpedo is certainly ambitious, Grant Nicholas and Taka Hirose emerge with their high-rolling reputations enhanced.
The ’Black’ disc continues Torpedo’s hard-rocking renaissance, the tightly wound classic rock riffing of Playing With Fire and the expansive, cinematic landscape of ELF striking a charming juxtaposition with the irresistible pop rush of Hey You. ‘Red’ isn’t quite as heavy, but it’s just as intense, stuffed with Feeder’s ’00s trademark: melody-drenched, emotive alternative-rock anthems such as Sleeping Dogs Lie, Unconditional and Here Comes The Hurricane.
Feeder are still more than capable of springing a surprise - lord alone knows what odds you’d have got on the poignant Soldiers Of Love sporting a bagpipes intro, 30 years after they first blasted out of South Wales. But as that song rails against a world 'When you feel nothing is real', you’ll realise that - whether you have time to hear these songs all together or listen to them in splendid isolation - Black / Red is an authentic representation of a great band in full, long-distance flight.
And, if you’re looking for a band to keep it real in a world of fakes, you could do a lot worse than to put it all on Feeder."

Definately, if ever a band should have the attention it deserves it's Feeder. This re-make is spot on so hopefully it might push them to a great Glastonbury spot once the world gets back to normal!
One of my best gig memories is seeing Feeder live in Glasgow with this weird wee band called Muse as the support act.

I miss these days of being a teen listening to Kerrang.
I always sat watching it for hours waiting on this song circa 2003. Although last time I watched Kerrang fairly recently the big hits from those days were still in heavy rotation. Can't decide if that's awesome or incredibly depressing.

This was my little brothers favourite song who passed away when he was 2yrs old 19yrs ago, always brings back good memories of him. Even at that age he had awesome taste in music! Miss you little guy! 😭🤙

even after such a long time, my condolences. i remember my little brother playing ps2 games with me when he was a little boy and it makes me incredibly sad to hear about that. he's 23 now and while he's studying abroad, his ps2 is just a few feet away from me. really, really horrible just to think about it...

I am listening to this in my forties. When this song first came out I was in my twenties and at university. I feel this song hasn't aged a single day in the intervening years and I still listen to it when I need an emotional pick up. but my god: seeing the young girl with the guitar as an actual adult and the guy who now has a kid was a shock. A good shock. but still a shock. Keep it up guys!

My other half sent me this "want to feel old?" I'm having a rough time atm, my mum passed away Thursday and I've been beating myself up about it, but the original video always cheered me up and seeing this done for the NHS has made things 10x better, I cannot thank the paramedics enough for everything they done on Thursday, including the guy that gave me a big ol bear hug because "I've been told I'm good at hugging" when I turned everything else down he offered, they do not get credited enough for what they do and I love feeder for this ❤️

Last year I got 27 songs tattooed on my arm for the 27 years I've been alive... this was the song that I chose for 2001.. I was 10 years old and remember watching this on cable TV (UK). First concert I ever went to, and every time I hear their music, I remind myself why I love them so much. Seeing a retake is incredible. Amazing to see! Much love guys!

Oh my freaking wow, it's weird seeing this being remade in HD, but actually almost in the sense of an actual remake! I had go go back and watch it to confirm! Legends right there! I was weary that it may have been choreographed a bit more than the original but, it's just as good with a shout-out to the NHS too which is great. Well done Feeder, you have done it justice!
