I've been playing CotW since launch and I can say: YES The simple fact that this game has genetics and animal lifespawn is a clear winner for me. Sure, the amount of variety is low (for now) but WotH is catching up.

I've really enjoyed WotH, playing in Ranger mode for a more realistic experience. Happy hunting! Edit: The animals spook much easier on the harder difficulties. Those deer at 34:40 would be long gone 😂
But even on adventurer, WOTH has highly unrealistic, too severe spook mechanics. Bow hunting without a stand is practically impossible. Even when you hunt against the wind, call an animal and sit still in cover, animals spook like 150, 200m far. COTW has that more realistic.
That's not been my experience, but I've only played on Ranger difficulty. If you're not moving and are downwind they won't detect you even up close. If you're downwind while not moving and they're spooking 200m away that's a bug @@AnimaTriste
You can use tier 4 or 6 weapons to hunt class 5 animals, with grandpa's rifle just come closer and with tier 6 keep your distance. It's all about the kinetic energy

It's a great game if you want a more realistic hunting experience.And while this is what the player's base likes about the game, it's way easier for content creators to make videos about the diamond simulator aka CotW. It's way easier to create a hype train for CotW, than for Way of the hunter.
I don't know if you saw the latest "contraversy" but one of the big UA-camrs admitted that he and others cheat to get the diamonds for their videos, which I always suspected.

And EW is catering only towards that specific play style, because that's what creates the hype.
Hey ! Those are real wheels I have a Jeep with those they are 35” and yes you do need to raise the suspension , they are the best you can get for off road
I love playing Cotw and Way of the Hunter, I do enjoy the both of their different paces and what they have to offer. Overall if you are on the fence on getting Way of the Hunter, as a COTW player I would highly recommended it.
If you want faster gameplay and more variety in maps, guns and animals, call of the wild is the right choice. If you want more realism in herd management, gun handling, and animal behavior then Way of the Hunter is the game for you. If I could have only one, it would be Way of the Hunter.
Now that they've got an Africa DLC, I don't understand why we are left with diminutive cartridges. I would love to see some new guns starting with the 375 H&H, a 416 Remington Magnum, and going up from there. Real life Cape Buffalo are not effectively harvested with a 300 Win Mag. Personally, it would be nice to see some slug guns too for those of us who are used to hunting IRL at less than 100 yards.
You buy them from the store page - then you go into the equip menu (where you pick your guns) and you scroll right - There is a section where you can equip up to 3 callers.

I just picked It up Its amazing game deer and animals seem alive ,I play COTW a lot and It just kicks their ass so many ways,Its alot better than I ever thought it could be.
WOTH has some really unrealistic stalking mechanics. You see an animal 300 m far, you check the wind, it's good, you use cover, go slow, there is no theory, that animals would sense you, and suddenly 200, 159 m far they flee. This is not so even in real life, I've been on some hunts. Or I'm sitting in a bush, calling a deer, wind is good, they are coming from a direction where there are some bushes 50m before me, I'm still, but then they stop and flee. COTW has that better, more realistic.
Now, I have never hunted in real life, but I do know that the deer in my back yard stand at the fence while my dogs run back and forth barking at them - and they just stand there and look at my dogs like 'shut up dude".. So I can see that COTW may be better at the stalking mechanic. I am currently hunting in Africa right now on COTW. Having a blast.
The comment of a 40-30 not being used for deer hunting is bullshit.i use to hunt with that very rifle for many years back home in north dakota.i hunted in very heavy brush and it is at its best in that kind of hunting.pleade pass my comment on to the developers
My bad Brian, I did a bad job explaining - You can use the 30-30 for Deer Hunting in the game, no problem - just be sure to keep it around 100 yards or less.
this game came out and it was a mess playable but things just werent right they worked on it and fixed things and broke things multi-player has never worked and wish they released it as a single-player game but i feel they used the multi-player to bring in more revenue i played the game constantly till they did the halloween update that for me broke more than they had fixed had to re start several time from the begining story wise i lost saved games twice i just couldnt do it again so soon after so ive left it for now but will look into it again in a few months
CotW is goofy and jank… but it’s fun. WotH has better mechanics and higher production values. It’s just missing the hooks that CotW has with the rare animal types. They added rare fur types but that’s not enough. Also shotguns suck.
If They had bows in game, I would have gotten It. Game still has lots of problems. Its still new should even get better in another year. Ultimate Hunting Is coming In six to eight months. COTW Is improving Its game they are not going to go down without a fight Its a great game hunting animals are a blast, BUT the bird hunting Is so much fun no game Is as good even this game that's just the way It Is..............
I mean, maybe - if you are moving fast, you are making noise. The slower you move, the less noise you make. As long as you keep it slow under 150m then you are usually fine.
@@Vbluguitar I'm crouching at snail pace with wind in my back trying to keep to bushes hidden from view, the mule deers still get spooked. FYI: I'm just started the game coming from Call of wild so have a bit of learning kerb.
I picked this up when it came out, and saw it had potential but wasn't initially sold on it and refunded. I'm now looking at buying this over the new Australia map on CoTW as the constant little bugs, such as sound being backwards. The 'tripod hopping' seems to be the main hunting style they are going for which I do not like personally. I prefer to wander and and see what I can see and then call in the thing I'm hunting, which I can do in CoTW but seems to be far less effective as it was in tH:Classic. I loved classic but there's so much missing in CoTW that classic has that made it enjoyable for me. So, I might just pick this up instead of the new map in CoTW

Why is FOV a problem. I will never understand such complains. Take it as the developers want it. Same liek those players who alter colors to druglvls and then play in competitiv pvp with is thinking its fine.
Some people (like me) get motion sick on games with low FOV's, easy enough to understand. It's easy to add to a game, expected in 2022 and there are no drawbacks to having FOV customization. It seems you think a higher FOV would be "unfair", but it's a singleplayer hunting game? That should clear up any confusion, but I'm also not sure why it bothers you so much.

Call of the wild is utter garbage the try and bring there pc one hunter classic to console 😂 the hunter classic is the best hunting game out beats all by miles

One of my favorite games, graphics are amazing. Maps are huge but with little patience and experience it sucks you in.

You should be fine with this game - just make sure you pay attention during the tutorials and keep in mind that animals spook a lot easier.
I love playing Cotw and Way of the Hunter, I do enjoy the both of their different paces and what they have to offer. Overall if you are on the fence on getting Way of the Hunter, as a COTW player I would highly recommended it.

I wish they would have tree stands and a tent you could throw down to sleep but yea Way of the hunter is rocking it

How do I unlock a caller i give up,I don't know what to do . i have killed and sold many animals but no callers are available...

Yes, I feel like blind hunting in WOTH is kinda pointless. Walking is the best way to catch stuff by far.
this game has passed up cotw now, only thing cotw has better is more content but its been out for 5 more years

FOV cann cause fairly bad motion sickness for people, same as potion blur etc
