I never feel stressed, I love heading out to the next place. Even if my GPS takes me the long way, I just go with it., enjoy each min. Life is so short why stress.
You are so lucky! It seems like the majority of people really struggle on travel days. Wishing you continued Happy travels! And congratulations on being the first to comment!
I do love getting lost tho..long as I know I'm heading the right direction I'm fine..found the Harriet Tubman hwy by accident bc I got lost..let me say..our state is one main hwy north n south for 80 minutes end to end, 50 minutes east to west..no major freeways n hard to get lost but I'm good at it, on purpose..
Stress? We LOVE travel days because it means we're going to a new place. Prior to RV'ing, I lived my life spending 200 nights in a hotel traveling and flying across the country. RV travel day 'stress' is nothing compared to cancelled flights due to winter storms during Christmas and every hotel within 10 miles of the airport is booked solid.
I found you a few months ago Liz, your video's are fun To watch, love the scenery, you were meant to travel in that RV Liz, your a Beautiful Lady with a lot of bravery, stay safe out there Liz!
Fantastic video, Liz, please keep them coming! My biggest stress reliever is the day before a trip I do a virtual drive to our destination---maybe not the whole drive but from the exit off the Interstate to the RV Park. Just go on google earth and you can see everything just as if you were driving, and then you will be so relaxed, it won't feel like your first time. You can make mental notes, like, "As soon as I take a right off the exit ramp I should get into the left lane because the next left turn comes up really soon at the corner with the drive-inn theatre". This is especially helpful when we are urban glamping and driving into big cities like Philadelphia, Ocean City, NJ , San Diego, etc. Happy camping!
I so agree. And I also am very weather aware for a day or two before leaving. I don’t want to pack stuff wet if I can avoid. So I might actually pack outside items a little early.
Got home yesterday after 2 months in Florida. We stayed our last night 90 minutes from home. That kept the day before a little shorter drive day. We knew we would have to winterize before we got home, so we did it yesterday morning after we dumped. When we got home we still had the energy to unpack the RV. I just have to clean the inside today and then Hubby will move it to the barn until our next trip. Oh, by the way, we use printed lists and a whiteboard on the frig . I also use the whiteboard to write down the names of our neighbors. I like to be able to address folks by their name after we have initially met.
Smart idea about winterizing before you get home. Good one for sure. I like the whiteboard idea, I've been using post-it notes. Thanks for watching Carolynn and keep warm.
Another great video, Liz! Your advice about having a checklist is critical to having a stress-free trip. One thing I do, in addition, is to run a 2nd GPS. They are cheap enough and offer the security of having a backup in case of a failure. One I have "zoomed out" to include the destination, and the other is "zoomed in" for more immediate detail. I also have a 3rd for the copilot, so I can request special info, or for their enjoyment ... bcs there are always questions ... like "how far to wherever", LOL. Finally, I'm glad you have a TPM tire monitoring system ... bcs that inner tire on the drive axle is very important to watch. If it goes flat, it will rub against its sister and at highway speeds can cause a fire from friction against the adjacent tire ... and in a short period of time! I also carry a "few" fire extinguishers ... just for "added" peace of mind.
I “have” ptsd but help control it by allowing things to be part of the lifestyle. I am a full timer and just do not make any reservation where I have to hurry. Lists are part of my lifestyle but I find I can be easily distracted using the printed one. For set up and break down I use a mini flip cards/ chart that I keep in my phone holder on the dash. It happens to have multicolored pages and is only about 2 1/2” x 2”. One item per card. No flip until its done! Recently I was going 9:03 to skip checking my sewer hose tube during my walk about bc I had only stayed at a Cracker Barrel. I do check that no glass bottles have “rolled “under a tire but who would mess with the tube??? God said check it! Sure enough, while the cap was secure, the 2 (two!) extra bungee cords were gone. Take your time ( doing day before is a great idea!) it’s all part of the lifestyle
Hi Jean! Wow, that flipchart sounds really interesting. Thanks for sharing that, it seems like a good way to do i that will also help others. Good for you that you checked everything at that Cracker Barrel. Thanks for watching and for your kind words. See you on the road.
Good advice Liz, I agree with you on everything you have said! I hope everyone takes your advice on the pre-trip list and checking it twice. We’ve kinda learned over the years and I hope everyone takes your list of things to check and writes their own list. As we know from years of travels your knowledge is priceless! Safe and “stress free “ travels
That is when you can have troubles, when someone comes over to say goodbye or chat, when you are packing up to travel, You get thrown out of your usual set routine and lose track of what you are doing. I hooked my boat up to take it up to the servo (gas station) to fuel up for a fishing trip and the neighbor came over to talk boats etc. I went up and filled it with fuel and came home to reverse it into the yard, then the trailer came off the tow ball and slammed into my tailgate. I had forgotten to latch the tow lock. Enjoyed your video, as always. safe travels, Liz Cheers from Oz.
Yikes! So sorry that happened to you. You can't blame the neighbor, but yet so frustrating bc it seems whenever people go to hitch or unhitch at a campground, people always come over to chat. Thanks for watching and cheers to you down in Oz!
Good video Liz! Our list is on BRIGHT colored paper, and laminated. Many times stuff in the camper gets moved and piled etc… bright colored paper can always be seen sooner than any thing else. Also it’s done with Bigger Font which is a great help. I take care of inside, hubby has the outside…. Then we switch! I check his list & he checks mine. We have been RV’ing since ‘93. We are on our 4th rig. Our list and style has changed a lot over time. When we had all four kids, the list was great for them to follow as well. Safe & blessed travels Liz!
That's a great way to do it, thanks for sharing. I love how you check each other's work, too. Excellent! Thanks for watching. And I've been RVing about as long as you. I bet we would have much to talk about around the campfire!
Never have any stress waking up in our 2022 Jayco 310 NP RLTS. Hybrid Kingsize bed is a game changer. Helps to be mechanically inclined to work on these rigs.
Thank you Liz, All great reminders. I am planning a trip out of state this summer. I am already working to avoid travel stress as my destination is over 360 miles from home. While I know I could do that drive, I am also driving through a major urban area that could add to that stress. So I am researching a mid-point extra night going & coming stay over with pull thru so I can stay hooked up to my tow vehicle. This is a new territory to me so I definitely study maps and Google Earth maps too.
I think you are simply amazing! You are brave and fearless!! I suffer from anxiety just in the car. I have had cars even new ones break down on me. Hasn’t happened in years, except for flat tire driving over a nail. But sill have travel anxiety. So you are one amazing woman.! I could never do what you do. As much as I’d love it! I camped for a few years who in college in a VWPop UpCamper. Thank God it never broke down and we had so many fun college girl weekends. Broke my heart to sell it at five years new. But a new graduate job awaited in the Deep South. Somehow lost that girl. Now 72 with heath issues, well I have my memories ❤
I would just add… the night b4, I notify friends and family about my travel plans. Then it’s easy the next day to send a quick text that I’m on my way. That way, if they have any questions or concerns, I can address them without distraction.
Some good tips in there. I drive a small motor home (21' Class C) which is about the size of a Class B van or truck camper. If a person can do without all the luxuries of a large complex Class A and dinghy, I feel that this is way to go to reduce stress. We sightsee enroute, top off with gas before checking into the campsite, and pack up the campsite before going to bed. Retract the awning, pack up the chairs, etc. , unless you intend to have a leisurely departure and sit out again having coffee in the morning. Even then, I stow the chairs overnight. In the morning we only need to clear the countertops and unplug. We don't need to dump every night. We make sure we are being proactive with watching tank levels and planning ahead so we don't end up at a park that has the dump closed, or if there is a storm rolling in and we have to unplug and leave. One time in Florida I had to unplug in the morning and there was 2" of standing water everywhere due to an overnight storm; yikes! I have heard of campers having to evacuate in the middle of the night. What if you had a medical emergency and had to leave? My wife and I set up quickly and break down camp quickly. To each their own, but we don't see the need to have a massive camper and set up an elaborate campsite and decorate. A person can control the degree of complexity by simplifying their rig setup. I would also add that we can fit in a normal parking spot, can make a U-turn on a 2 lane road using the shoulder, and rarely have to worry about low bridges.
Hi Ernest! You are bringing back memories of my five months fulltiming in my 21' Class C Chinook camper van. It was super great for long trips. For me, it just didn't work for fulltime. After a while, I found I could not enjoy life to the fullest in such a small space. My hat is off to people who can live small! Happy travels to you!!
Great information & advice. I'm glad I don't stress about travel day...I look forward to it! I have need to be prepared ahead of time which probably reduces anxiety 🙃
Love that list suggestion - with the plastic cover for ease of reuse! Even for non-rv'ing, the list for travel day is invaluable. When I'm going on a trip - even for just a day or two, I start making a list the very first time I think of something I don't want to forget, even if it is weeks in advance - then build on to it right until travel day. I get ticked at myself when I put an item in plain sight and don't write it down - because how could I forget it: it's right next to everything else! Yep. I forget it. :-). Anyway, all excellent well-thought out suggestions!
Fully agree. Lists like Liz has we do as well. For our non-rv trips, I have a paper bag in the front hall with the trip written on it… when I think of an item I put it in right then. Even when we had all 4 kids at home, that system worked really well “Mom, I want to take…” (xyz’) I would just say put it in the bag, many times I heard “I did!” 💁🏻♀️ And having a bag in the bedroom has been very helpful indeed !
Hi Liz. I stopped travelling this year due to some of the reasons you mention here. After 7 years, I might add that it feel great to be pulled over for awhile. Again, thanks,
We always prep the day before so we can get going earlier. My husband takes care of the outside and I do the inside. We also go to bed early in hope of a good sleep. I also prep food, puppy snacks, water and put in our cooler in our truck so we don’t have to worry about buying junk food along the way. So, if we stop for a bathroom break and/ or gas we try to plan that around lunch time. Makes the trip so much stress free for us. Your list of stress free things are something everyone should do.
Hi Deb! Thanks for taking the time to comment. Sounds like you two have a good system on travel days! Wishing you happy and stress-free travel. See you in my latest video right here: ua-cam.com/video/75sEH2f6s-8/v-deo.html
Thanks for another great video Liz! We are retired occasional RVers, but we are gone for 2 weeks at a time when we go. I print out lists by category and keep in a pocketed folder of EVERYTHING I want to make sure and take (we do have certain things that stay in the RV). That's where my anxiety comes in. Fortunately we keep our RV in our driveway, so loading up can be done over several days. I do have a day-of list that can't be done ahead (garbage out, adjust heat/ac, etc). Once we are on the road and I'm confident nothing really important has been forgotten, I can relax!! We have a 25 ft Class C and don't put much out at the campsite other than a rug and 2 chairs, and very little sitting out loose inside, so we can easily unhook and go in about 10-15 minutes. After hooking up campers for a few years, we love the freedom of the Class C. Super easy for a quick hop into town or on to the next campground. I really enjoy your videos, even the older ones, but lately they are so well done and professional. Keep up the great work and happy camping!
Hi Karen! Thanks so much for your kind words. Your encouragement keeps me going. I owned two Class C's and there is a lot to love about them. So much storage! Sounds like you are organized and ready to travel. See you on the road.
great info we have suffered many of the same issues in the past we have split the chores of travel days makes full timing so much easier enjoy safe travels
Thx for the list reminder Liz. I always mean to prep one before my travel season. Then forget it. Gonna put this on my rig prep list! Just finished cleaning my outside ac on the roof. I’ve cleaned the roof. Today I’ll start extra cleaning the caulking seals. Then dicor where needed. At 73 it will take me at least two days doing my little 24’ rig. But I’ll know it’s done right. Safe travels and maybe we’ll meet some day.
I always feel stressed getting ready. I'm driving from Texas to Northern Minnesota next month. It's for a work camping job at digikey. I tow a 33 ft travel trailer and have 3 large dogs. I have lots more prep and planning to do. So many RV parks don't allow large dogs or 3 dogs. That adds to my many planning challenges. I plan my rest stops for the dogs, and google gas stations that face horizontal so I can fit my truck and trailer through. Also wind, like you said is a no go for me. :) love this topic!
Eye on the weather heading north so early. They are pretty good at clearing the snow off da roads up dare.. but cha never can tell.. eye to the sky.. travel safe
OMGGGGGG IM SO ABOUT "A LIST"...... Looking for one to get me started with my new upcoming life UNTIL I get my own routine down. Thks Liz.....YOUR THE BEST!!! Better to OVER DO than to end up with POO POO!!!!
Excellent advice. I agree with the checklist on your phone/tablet…we haven’t left yet (14 mos!) and I’m already frustrated with the gadget going to sleep. Plus, if you forget to charge your paper copy the night before, it still works!
Great idea about a checklist. I have an Excel spreadsheet list for every type of trip- bike trip, cruise, hotel trip, camping bike trip, etc. I have a small box on the spreadsheet with today’s date and my travel date to count down. One last box for my to do list- pack car, buy snacks, wash car, pedi, etc.
All good advice. If I plan on leaving early in the morning I’ll hook up my tow vehicle the night before. I also like to keep setup and tear down as simple as possible. I have a small rig so that’s not to hard. Most of the time I limit my distance traveled in a day to 300 miles or less. If I want to stop somewhere mid trip I don’t feel rushed. If I’m traveling consecutive days, I try to get a pull through site or a site long enough to keep my truck hooked up. I really don’t find travel days that stressful unless I try to bite off more than I can chew.
Great reminders, to be totally honest I’ve found myself on a dead end road lost looking for my Harvest Host location. It cost me a new blue ox tow bars and part of my exhaust system! Lol over the last few years we’ve learned to take it easy and slow down.
Great content and so true about travel days! I do everything you mention to keep my stress level down…. I call ahead, ask about my site, we do the liquid thing too! I print out the route and go over it with my husband because GPS always wants to take us another way…. we travel no more than 9 to 3pm…. we’ve noticed when we come in early we get a better site and watch everyone coming in around dinner time…. and we have time to drive around the town and check it out and pick up dinner or dessert! It makes it so much more enjoyable to travel! The folks that come in late are always leaving early, early too! I’m glad we are not on that schedule anymore!! Keep up the good work….. love your videos!
thanks for your comment, Marlene! Excellent point about arriving early. It really pays to sit back and relax and enjoy some of the day versus arrive late and leave early. See you in the next video, and thanks for your kind words!
I do not have a list for setting up or tearing down, I have my format memorized and am very efficient at it, I follow the same procedure each time, if something changes I stop, figure it out, fix it and then continue onto the next step, this way nothing is overlooked or forgotten, when all the steps are done I recheck each step in order and then relax at the site or move onto the next adventure! If someone comes by to talk while I am doing this, I just smile, wave and say hi as I walk away and take care of business at hand, if they find this rude that is their problem not mine, I am very good at politely ignoring someone who cannot see the obvious and just needs to talk for some reason😎
As always thanks for this reminder video. I am getting ready for a two week trip to Florida to visit family and take in the Ocala RV Show. Great timing, thank you!
We are long time RV Trip Wizard users, and often find the GPS version that gets pulled up on the phone for travel day is subtly different from the desktop version. Now we try to check and compare both routes the night before and choose one, helping to avoid any confusion on travel day.
Yes, indeed. I use RV Garmin and a truck app and my phone and I compare. It takes a extra time but it is worth it. Thanks for watching and thanks for moving me closer to 100,000 subscribers!
Great tips! I have a travel day "move" checklist on my phone. I'll take the minute or so to look it over before pulling out. I do the "outside" items and my wife does the "inside". We do fine. I'm a big supporter of pre-planning the fuel stops too. Many Flying J / Pilot stations have the separate fuel islands for RV's. ( I think Loves does the same...). I'll use Google Earth to check the station layout. No "fatal funnels" where you pull in but have a TOUGH exit or even have to back up. Nope - not gonna do it if I can possibly avoid it. We'll try to get that fuel stop every 2-3 hours just to keep everyone happy. Travel dog can find a tree too. We are also "daylight" drivers as we both don't see as well at night. 6-8 hours of driving would be a good day for us. We love your channel!
Hi and thank you for being here. Good for you that you can even go for up to eight hours. I'm sticking with the Rule of 3: Three hours or 3:00, whichever comes first. Thanks for watching and for bringing me closer to 100,000 subscribers!
You are right on about stress. Planning ahead goes a long way. One suggestion for your videos. My wife and I often watch UA-cam on our TV. We get interested in the video and want to like it but we forget to do it before the video ends. Once the content ends, the stream closes and a commercial starts. I have to go back, reopen the video, and like it. Just a few seconds of music, theme song, or something would allow viewers time to get the menu up and like the video. Keep up the videos!
This is a good idea, thank you! I will always end the video with my catchphrase so when you hear that, go for the thumbs up. THANK YOU so much for your support. Your encouragement keeps me going each week. Hugs to you both.
We do everything you mentioned, specially getting it done the day before. We also follow the 3 3 3 rule. Don't drive more Tha 3 hrs at a time without a brake. Don't drive more than 300 miles a day. And don't drive past 3 pm before looking for a camp spot.
I have always pre-packed outside and before going to bed I batten down the hatches indoors so I only have a few things to do in the morning. I don’t mind travel days at all, I get excited about the new place that we get to visit. But I totally agree with your info.
We always do everything the night before for outside items. We take our night time shower and the bathroom gets ready for travel. The only stress we feel is the fact that we have to leave and move on to our next destination! Lol Bit you got some good info there!
Wedding Photographer good training for stress. I’ve been asked to do assignments for the Warbird Museum in Paso Robles. I declined I don’t do that I kind of work. Enjoy your videos
I always map my way like you mentioned. I also use google maps to see the paths of the campsite I am visiting. Great video with lots of things covered. I learned a couple things watching your content. --chris
I find people now days just are not mentally strong anymore. What happened with rolling with the punches. I was told worrying never helped anything, I believe in being prepared but lets quit all this feelings crap. Get on with life and enjoy it. Stay safe and enjoy life.
Yes. I find getting as much done as possible the day before makes a world of difference. One concern my wife and I cannot decide on. We have a tow dolly behind our Class A. Putting the car on it the day we leave is very tiring. Last week we loaded the car with the levelers down. To say the least, I was scared. To bring up the levelers prior to loading the car, I have to bring in the sides along with other prepping. By loading the car the day before gave me much more stamina to drive. Can't find anything on that practice and I wonder what others do.
Hi Brad. That is a great question. I would call the makers of your tow dolly to find out for sure. You could also go to a forum for your motorhome and see what there is to know. Thanks for your question.
Once again - another step by step to being able to enjoy the moment by preparing ahead of time. I love it! As I am also a sailor (during the hurricane season I can enjoy RV life) just started an RV logbook where I keep notes on everything: Engine, fuel, food, destination etc. To your list I prepare a midway point to my day destination following your maximum daily travel suggestion (past episode). Just in case of unexpected events or points of interest! One more prep while I am connected on the previous day, I prepare a meal so when I get to destination, I can start relaxing sooner! Stress free! You are getting closer to your >100,000 viewers :) Many thanks
My Ex husband tells me how much he misses our traveling together cause I ALWAYS made a picnic basket for the road (we had a 35 ft 5th wheel) and I'd make cheese n crackers, sausage, jersey, candy, sandwiches, etc n feed him. We only stopped to potty or when the fur baby said to stop. Bitter Sweet to look back. ✌
@@marybourgeois5235 all I can say Mary is I hope he appreciated your “picnic” that was more like a buffet! I just feel as a solo traveller preparing ahead makes it so much more pleasant :) being on the road is all new to me, have learned a lot watching Liz’s channel and all her pearls.
I am a single female with a fifth wheel. My fridge is inaccessible once the slides are in. I discovered that I wasn't preparing any drinks, just so focused on getting everything travel ready. By the end of travel days I was dehydrated and often had muscle cramping. Now i make absolutely sure i have plenty of water and iced tea for my truck.
Great advice as a always. With my work schedule it’s 7 on 7 off. I work 12 hour shifts I am always planning to leave for my week off. A check off list is a must. It clears my mind and keeps me able to sleep. Plus I won’t forget anything. Sleep is a prescription at our age. Lol. Happy Trails. Michelle Greenville Fl😊😊😊❤❤
You are not alone! I hope this video helps. I do think knowing your rig, and even going to a parking lot and practicing can help reduce the anxiety. Wishing you happy and safe travels.
Great video Liz! You covered everything! One of my worst moments was when we decided we were gonna stay at a Flying J for the night. When we pulled in there wasn’t any line at the diesel pumps so I decided it was a great opportunity to fuel up. The pumps had DEF and diesel but I couldn’t figure out how to select diesel. Let’s say it was a pump problem. I went inside to ask and the clerk said he switched it to diesel and I was all set. So after filling up we found a spot to park for the night. As I was laying in bed I started thinking about the DEF. Am I sure I pumped diesel? Did I pump DEF by mistake. I was so stressed about it I could not go to sleep. Then I started tearing the camper apart looking for my receipt. I finally went back in and asked them to print out another receipt. I was so relieved to see that the receipt said diesel. By this time it’s 2am and now I’m stressing cause I’m gonna be tired driving the next day. Lesson learned! Never go to those pumps again! Be well and safe travels.
I have a camping preparation list. But I photo copy a pile of them and only use each paper list one time. Then throw that paper away after I've crossed off each entry with marker. Not sure about the paper in a plastic sleeve idea. I suppose that could work too. No way most people can remember in their head every small minute detail. There is just too much to remember. Three cheers for lists.
Been following u 4 yrs liz! Im a list gal! I have tons of lists in my phones memo pad! But Rather than wipe & erase, I woud print a bunch of templates up! And mark them LIVE by date! Only keep the last "3" pitch the dead ones, unless it has notes on that place to camp with definite Pro's or Con's!!! I always thought I'd want to be a Full-Time RV-er, when I started my research in 2014. Turns out, I Love my bricks & sticks home! I Love My THINGS. Turns out, I wanna "travel light" & bring more things to my bricks & sticks home from my adventure travels! Im not down-sizing my life or my things, unless "I" decide to do so! I'm not doing anything anyone else tells me I have to do. I put up with shit for years, by others & I'm DONE! From now on I'm going to do, what I want, when I want, the way I want to do it! Everybody else can go scratch!!! Done with hearing, " No You Cant" my entire life!!!! I am shouting from the rooftops & top of my van... " YES I CAN!!!!! " And I make lists & I like lists & I will use lists! I'm organized & refuse to be Rushed, Bulied, co-erced or disrespected ever again! Power to "list" people! & George Carlin & his skit on "Stuff!"
Hey there! You sound like my kind of gal! Good for you for knowing what you want and going for it!!! Looking forward to seeing you out here on one of your adventures. And thanks for watching.
@@LizAmazingluv ur vids! Just bought a 2003 VW Eurovan awaiting its arrival next week! Hope to get a teardrop for an RV... We shall see. Van is good for now!
Very good tips! I really like the plastic covered printed list you can check off. Do you have a copy to download for newbies? Do you have a recommendation for a place to get one? Thanks for sharing! 🖖🏻😘👍🏻🙏🏻
You have to make it for yourself. It's the only way. Every rig is different and you may have something specific that needs to be moved or packed that others don't. Write down everything it takes to get your rig ready for travel. Type it up, print it out and put it in a page protector on a clipboard with a dry erase marker. Happy and safe travels, and thanks for watching!
Seems many people who really stress out on travel days it's because they have a big rig that they are not 100% comfortable with driving or towing, but they don't move as often so they want to maximize living space. That would stress me out too.
Exactly! I'd recommend driving more or taking a driving course or just going to a parking lot and practicing. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend.
Hey Liz. Great info in your vid. I also do most of the trip prep for my 5th wheel at lease 1 or 2 days in advance. I use a list for the interior but use rvminders for the exterior. They slap on my steering wheel and get removed when the task is completed. Hope to see you on the road. Going to Thunder Canyon, in Al in March. Safe travels...
@@LizAmazing I was on the Founder's call last night and J&M said hello back. fyi. You should make it to the Easter or 4th of July events. Safe travels...
So she was a wedding photographer… that makes sense I was wondering where the production skills came from… not often you see an RV channel with production value/hosting skills.. that’s what really got me to subscribe actually.
I never feel stressed, I love heading out to the next place. Even if my GPS takes me the long way, I just go with it., enjoy each min. Life is so short why stress.
I'm jealous. 😀
Good point!!! So glad you are doing RV life now after all that. Thanks for watching.
I found you a few months ago Liz, your video's are fun To watch, love the scenery, you were meant to travel in that RV Liz, your a Beautiful Lady with a lot of bravery, stay safe out there Liz!
Aww, thanks for the kind words, Bill! See you in the next one.
That's the way to do it. Thanks for watching.
All good a tried and true advice. Thank you
Thank you for watching Jackie!
Yes! Glad to hear this Tom. I do the same thing with GPS looking at it through different apps. Thanks for watching.
My hope, too, that everyone makes their own custom list. Thanks for your comment!
Enjoyed your video, as always. safe travels, Liz
Cheers from Oz.
I keep intending to create a trip list. Thanks for the motivation- I’ll get on it!
Thank you Beth! Glad this video helped. Have a great weekend and see you in the next one.
I absolutely agree, especially when driving a large RV and with a vehicle on the back. Not much room for error. .... Better to prepare. ...
Thank you. glad to have you here!
Never have any stress waking up in our 2022 Jayco 310 NP RLTS.
Hybrid Kingsize bed is a game changer.
Helps to be mechanically inclined to work on these rigs.
It sure does. As they say, if you aren't handy, you'll either become handy or go broke! Thanks for watching.
Thank you Liz,
All great reminders.
Sounds like a good plan, John. Definitely do the research to plan it out and reduce stress. Thanks for watching and enjoy your trip this summer.
Sounds like you could write a book about your adventures. So glad you have those good memories. Big hugs to you!
I would just add… the night b4, I notify friends and family about my travel plans. Then it’s easy the next day to send a quick text that I’m on my way. That way, if they have any questions or concerns, I can address them without distraction.
Great tip, thanks for adding this! See you in the next video.
Some very good ideas here. We usually pack up the evening before. Just do the dumping etc. In the am.
Glad to hear! thanks for being here, Kathy. Have a good week!
Great advice liz, your videos really help understand that a little planning goes a long way. have a nice day.
Thanks for watching, Kathy! Glad you enjoyed the video. Have a nice day as well and see you in the next video.
This is great. Love the stress is caused by explanation as we're in the process of selling our house!
Glad this was helpful. Feel free to share this video, and thanks for watching.
Yes, indeed. That's the way to be. Glad you've got it figured out. Thanks for watching.
Yay, so glad you believe in lists like I do. Sure appreciate your kind words and for being here. Have a great weekend and see you in the next one.
Fully agree. Lists like Liz has we do as well.
For our non-rv trips, I have a paper bag in the front hall with the trip written on it… when I think of an item I put it in right then. Even when we had all 4 kids at home, that system worked really well “Mom, I want to take…” (xyz’) I would just say put it in the bag, many times I heard “I did!” 💁🏻♀️
And having a bag in the bedroom has been very helpful indeed !
@@arbonneladyTN great idea, too!
Hi Liz. I stopped travelling this year due to some of the reasons you mention here. After 7 years, I might add that it feel great to be pulled over for awhile. Again, thanks,
Yep, I can see that. Totally. Glad you did it for seven years, wow! Thanks for watching.
These are all great tip..! The most stressful thing for me was hitching up the 5th wheel..LOL!
Yes, that can be very stressful - especially if people are watching or talking while you do it. Thanks for your comment and see you in the next video.
RELAX. Use the checklist and never get in a hurry. Thats my advice. I enjoy your content. EJ in Baton Rouge.
Absolutely. Thanks for being here and happy travels.
great info we have suffered many of the same issues in the past we have split the chores of travel days makes full timing so much easier enjoy safe travels
Thanks Allan, hope you have a great weekend! See you in the next video.
Wow, look at you. You are getting it done! I look forward to seeing you on the road Beverly and thanks for watching.
Yay! So glad you found this video. Helpful, Luann! Thanks so much for watching, and wishing you stress-free travel days!
Eye on the weather heading north so early. They are pretty good at clearing the snow off da roads up dare.. but cha never can tell.. eye to the sky.. travel safe
I’ll let you know when I find one. But one of my favorites stress relievers is a back massage machine or a hot tub with jets!
I just had camping neighbors with a portable hot tub, so fun!
@@LizAmazing that’s cool! 😎
OMGGGGGG IM SO ABOUT
"A LIST"......
Looking for one to get me started with my new upcoming life UNTIL I get my own routine down.
Thks Liz.....YOUR THE BEST!!!
Better to OVER DO than to end up with POO POO!!!!
Exactly this!!! Thanks Mary! See you in the next video.
Excellent advice. I agree with the checklist on your phone/tablet…we haven’t left yet (14 mos!) and I’m already frustrated with the gadget going to sleep. Plus, if you forget to charge your paper copy the night before, it still works!
That's right, it does! Thanks for saying so and for watching. Looking forward to seeing you out here.
You sound like you are very organized, glad to hear this! Thanks for watching.
Such great tips, Mark! Thank you for adding a valuable comment to the conversation. And for watching!
Great reminders, to be totally honest I’ve found myself on a dead end road lost looking for my Harvest Host location. It cost me a new blue ox tow bars and part of my exhaust system! Lol over the last few years we’ve learned to take it easy and slow down.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. I know it happens. Yikes. Thanks for watching and see you in the next video.
Love the checklist suggestion, especially the lamination and dry erase part!
Yay, so glad you enjoyed this, and thanks for bringing me closer to 100k subscribers! See you in the next one.
I luv the weather check and checklist idea. Wealth of info. T.u.
Excellent advice!! Hello Liz! Hope all is well and you are having fun :) Stay safe out there!

Great advice! Thank you for putting all that together.
Thanks Amy, glad to have you here! See you in my brand new video right here: ua-cam.com/video/mvmWu8z1ugQ/v-deo.html
You are a rare bird that you can do it without a list. Good for you. Be safe and see you down the road.
As always thanks for this reminder video. I am getting ready for a two week trip to Florida to visit family and take in the Ocala RV Show. Great timing, thank you!
Awesome! So glad this video helped. Have a great trip and enjoy the RV show. See you in the next video.
This is so helpful. Thank you for another great video. Anything to prevent unnecessary stress is beneficial.
Exactly this! Thanks for your comment and see you in the next video.
Great advice! Travel plans can and DO go wrong. Checking on reservations is always a good idea!
Yep. You don't want to find out the hard way. Thanks for watching.
Lots of GREAT advice for RVers, Liz! 😊
Thanks Chris! See you in the next one!
Good advice even for people traveling by car for a road trip. I like to make a list and have as much as possible packed up and ready the day before.
That's the way to do it. Thanks for your comment.
We do everything you mentioned, specially getting it done the day before. We also follow the 3 3 3 rule. Don't drive more Tha 3 hrs at a time without a brake. Don't drive more than 300 miles a day. And don't drive past 3 pm before looking for a camp spot.
Yes , indeed. The Rule of 3s is great. Glad you follow it, too. Thanks for watching and see you in the next video.

Thank you Pattie, glad to hear you are organized and prepared on travel days. See you in the next video.
I have always pre-packed outside and before going to bed I batten down the hatches indoors so I only have a few things to do in the morning. I don’t mind travel days at all, I get excited about the new place that we get to visit. But I totally agree with your info.
Thanks for this! And thank you for bringing me closer to 100,000! Happy travels to you!

You have deep knowledge on this👏🏻
I do! Thanks for watching.
@@LizAmazing yeah, I really want to do that but it could be an expensive mistake.
Always good to review. Thanks for taking the time to do this video

You are getting closer to your >100,000 viewers :)
Many thanks
Hi Bernard. Great additions, especially having that meal all ready to go. And I am -- 100k here we come~!
Good awareness. Glad you got it figured out now. Happy travels and thanks for watching.
Great advice as a always. With my work schedule it’s 7 on 7 off. I work 12 hour shifts I am always planning to leave for my week off. A check off list is a must. Getting on the road and driving is my biggest anxiety!!!
Oh my gosh, Warren. I would have been worried too about that DEF. Scary for sure. Thanks for sharing and for watching. See you in the next one.

Stay safe and happy traveling to you. Very good information.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching Randy.
Turns out, I wanna "travel
light" & bring more things to my bricks & sticks home from my adventure travels!
Done with hearing, " No You
Cant" my entire life!!!!
I am shouting from the rooftops & top of my van...
" YES I CAN!!!!! "
And I make lists & I like lists & I will use lists! I'm organized & refuse to be
Rushed, Bulied, co-erced or disrespected ever again!
Power to "list" people! & George Carlin & his skit on
"Stuff!"
Love this lady's videos!. What a beauty! Have fun Liz!
Thank you! Welcome to the channel and see you in the next video.
Sounds like you have a good system. Thanks for watching, Tim! Looking forward to seeing you out here. And tell J&M I said hi!
@@LizAmazing Lol, I will with all the chickens. I think she is up to 40 plus. Poor John...lol
@@LizAmazing I was on the Founder's call last night and J&M said hello back. fyi. You should make it to the Easter or 4th of July events. Safe travels...
LOVE this video Liz!!!
Thank you so much! Sure appreciate you watching and I will see you in the next video.
So she was a wedding photographer… that makes sense I was wondering where the production skills came from… not often you see an RV channel with production value/hosting skills.. that’s what really got me to subscribe actually.
Why thanks, Chris! That's high praise for sure. Feel free to share my channel, would love to reach 100,000 soon! And thanks for being here!
Excellent video, Liz.
Thanks Michael!!!
