- Join me today for a fantastic journey on the Vistadome coach of the Yeshwanthpur Mangalore Karwar Express. Our journey would take us across the western Ghats with some breadth taking views from the Vistadome's viewing Gallery. Indian Railways introduced Vistadome coaches to promote train tourism. These coaches offer breathtaking views of Western Ghats, specifically the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Ghat section in monsoon with even more beautiful scenery.

The 2 Vistadome coaches of this train are attached at the Rear end of the train Each vistadome coach has a seating capacity of 44. Seats are rotatable 180 degree, wide large windows will offer a clear close-up view to the passengers. The Vistadome coach has been manufactured by Integral Coach Factory, Chennai on the LHB (Linke-Hoffman-Busch platform/technology). There are glass rooftops which offer views of the sky to the passengers. These rooftops have anti glare screens too. The viewing Gallery has full 270 deg awesome rear view.

Just traveled from Mangalore to Bangalore in Vistadome. Well kept coaches, carpets do make cleaning an issue. Food particles do remain on them despite efforts by cleaning crew. One big issue is the speed and number of stops in this train. We stopped over an hour outside Yeshwantpur for two trains to cross!! The travel time can be significantly reduced if such delays can be avoided. And that would make this travel even more fantastic:) . Few suggestions: use of RO water instead of plastic bottles; a Tip box rather than cleaning boy asking for tips.
Nice coverage. The vistadome coaches really look plush. Travelling through ghat section on such a coach would have given you a heavenly feeling. How about the noise factor in the coach? Is it silent as compared to other modern LHB coaches?
Yes, you are right. This also a LHB Coach manufactured by ICF. The noise level inside the coach is very palatable.

It is better to take Ypr to Majn. Because from MAJn to ypr ,bankers are attached at the rear blocking the rear view..
MAJN to YPR - The Vistadome coaches are the 1st & 2nd from Loco. So anyway the view from Gallery is Lost. The Bankers are attached at Subramanya RD at the end of the train. So Bankers are NOT the isse, the Locomotive in front is the issue. Wait for my Video of Travel between MAJN to YPR.
