Additional information:
- If a boxer becomes champion or interim champion they are removed from the rankings of all other organisations, unless unified.
- If boxers don't pay their fees they are removed from the rankings of that organisation.
- If a champion leaves the division or retires, the interim champion is elevated to full champion.

@@lrockyfan5106 nope, the WBO should have always been a real belt. the WBO and IBO actually enforce their rules and contractual obligations for champions, unlike the WBC and even IBF.

The WBC Interim Belt doesnt necessarily mean you are fighting for the “actual” belt, cause Benavidez was mandatory for 2 years and didn’t fight Canelo.

I've got the lot including the international version of the IBF, regular and super in the WBA, Ibo, wbo super, ring for canelo and fury version. But the very best I've got is the Lonsdale belt by a mile. It's a beauty.
No problem with 4 belts. If you follow the sport it's pretty easy to understand but when they started bringing in interim belts and silver belts and international belts etc it's just too much
I would rather only have to remember one champ per weight class instead of 70+ across all classes.
Imagine if the NBA or NFL had an MVP for each division and conference, no one would care about that accomplishment anymore

I think there should be continental, interim and world champion. With continental champs having that belt as a ability to challenge interims or atleast get up in the ranks and seen in the scene. Then fighters should be ranked on all promotions and not being removed after having a belt in another one. This whole extra belt stuff should all be removed

UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, & One FC could come together to actually make a true Undisputed MMA Champion
NOPE. respect the IBO belt, champions like Anthony Cacace have made a living off of defending and unifying that belt with others in the division. the IBO is underrated- they also use the most objective and unbiased ranking system in boxing because it's done by computers.

why not just have one belt for a champion of a weight class at each weight class. the best would have to fight the best to become a champion. ain’t that one of the biggest problems in boxing? champs being can crushers instead of fighting the best other fighters in the divisions

Boxing should go back to 1 title…. But they won’t because of money. It answers a lot of questions. Why? Money.
The answer to “why are their so many?” Is simple; sanctioning fee charged by the organisation who owns the title.
The IBO…. Not worth wiping your butt with compared to the other 4.
“Super” title is a polite way of saying “unified title holder” and now we can add another and charge 2 sanctioning fees. The WBO is no better, they’re put out “international championship” titles which are worth…. Nothing

1 belt would be bad for the sport. think about all of the people who are in contender status in only one of the 5 sanctioning bodies. how would you handle that vs. people ranked in all 5?

I hate the UFC’s belt model. It somehow is ends up more corrupt than the 4 belt model.

@@Dabobertno it doesn't. take heavyweight, for example. Jon Jones is the HW Champion, while Tom Aspinall is the Interim Champion. Jones refuses to unify- so Aspinall is forced to defend the Interim belt against competition Jones should be defending against instead.
@@mikebipping6166 Bro, that is a exception to the rule. Overall if you actually look at the one belt system it really is the best. Especially because when you only have one belt everybody has the same goal and so the best has to fight the best and it is really hard to duck opponents even though there are exceptions. So yeah sometimes even the 1 belt model doesn't work that well but compare that to the cesspool of boxing titles and the ducking of boxing champions i would MUCH rather take the one belt system.
