What Tekken 2 and 5 openings got right for me, was that they included all of the characters in the opening, while giving more spotlight to the newer ones. In tekken 6 and TT2 they only gave screentime for fanfavorites and new ones. While the music and the action is pretty cool in this one, they should have given every character that small scene in. I was so disapointed when I bought this in 2009 and the opening didnt live up for its predecessor.
Miguel's story prologue says her dress was "stained with blood" when Miguel found her, but you can't show blood in a Tekken game so... invisible blood I guess :P

It's pretty much stuff like why Soul Edge's intro is still so fondly remembered because it had a great flow while still telling a story. Basically make a music video, like how the 2nd half of the Tekken 5 intro was XD
Yes!! lol The Tekken 5 intro did everything right, even the music was way better than this score. This intro just looks like several short cutscenes crammed together and then a musical montage. IMO, they got it right again with Tag Tournament 2. I just want some badass CG, fight coreography and cool music. xD
Yeah exactly, literally just rewatched that right now before reading this comment XD It was pretty much all just one scene for the original TTT2 intro but you still had lots of different camera cuts to different characters, bits of story (like Lili and Jun's part) and then a great final scene with the camera panning up to the high five. The console intro wasn't as good in that regard, but it still stayed together thanks to the song playing although it all than the very start so it still flows good. But it's not like it replaces the original TTT2 intro anyways, it's really just an intro made for fun. Plus the bonus ending makes up for it well XD

XD For sure Angel. I have a friend that's never seen the original and when he got the game on consoles he felt so confused watching the the console intro. I had to force him to watch the original arcade intro because he wasn't convinced it was different, and boy is he happy he saw it now, him being a Heihachi fan.
lame stages,small roster and that put you in the corner eish,it seemed jin was the toughest and heihachi and jin were bosses dude if youre a fan since tekken 1 you would know this
I have been a fan since 2002 / 2003, I played Tekken 1 back in 1999 I think, so I have pretty much been a fan since. It's your perception of the game that is causing you to have that opinion on T4. I haven't played the normal version of T3 though.
As awesome as tekken 6 can be the intro to tekken 5 was much more action packed. I wish most games today would get more intros like the old games used to.
One thing was missing from this opening (Actually many :D): They only showed few characters, what made Tekken 5's opening so awesome to me was the music of course and the fact that all of the characters were shown :)

Miguel was the highlight of this intro. Bob seems just random in a nice way to me. Leo seems like she was an experimental character. Lili seems just bratty. All is enjoyable in the end but not like its predecessorm
