French viewer here. This is from the 60's and it was no longer for sale during the 70's. But I was offered a very similar model of the Mirage IVA 1/50 th scale with the same retractable landing gear and movable rudder etc... on top of that, you had 2 x complete atar jet engines with openable access panels. Sadly I was a beginner and I ruined the delicate articulations. There is also the Jaguar A at the 1/50th scale along with the rare M variant prototype. Nice to see that such boxes reached the other side of the pond!
Bon jour! Thanks for watching and your comment! I have a second one of this kit, the second issue box. I think I will give a try at it. I am intrigued by the landing gear set up.
A Mirage lll, well who does not like a Mirage? I first saw this aircraft on TV back in the early 70’s, when it featured in the French TV series ‘The Aeronauts’ (the series is on UA-cam. A beautiful Heller release, wonderful box art and I’d say a joy to build.
I have good recollections of these Heller kits, particularly of a fantastic 1/72 scale F6F, made of first class plastic, very light and accurate paneling, no flash and no sinkholes at all. For a late '70 kit it stood on a par with those much more pricey (here in Italy) Tamiya, Hasegawa or Monogram kits.
I remember in the late 1960s the hardware store about a mile away from where I grew up in Park Ridge, IL stocking re-boxed Heller kits under the Buzco name.
Scalemates shows Buzco only importing the Heller kits for a year or so. Either they brought in a ton of kits or no one built them because I see them all the time at model swaps.
This is a beautiful kit from the golden age of plastic modeling! In many ways, it reminds me of the American 1958 Revell 1/49th scale Convair F-102A Delta Dagger kit, (some versions even came with ground equipment to help make a proto-diorama,) with all its working features. I also like how this early Mirage III kit features the SEPR 84 auxiliary rocket motor to increase its rate of climb. But it's odd that this kit comes with bombs instead of AAM's, as the Mirage was mostly an interceptor at the time. Thanks for sharing! 19th Like.
@@CelebratingVintageModelKits I'm looking forward to that one! The Revell 1958 F-102A has been one of my "holy grail" kits for a very long time. Because of their rarity and cost, my current plan is to use the 1990 1/48th scale Monogram (now Revell) 2016 issue with the Case X Wing, the 1987 1/48th scale Hasegawa US Ground Crew Set A, and some parts from the 1978 1/48th scale Esci Aircraft Support Group, to 'clone' the basic concept. Again, thanks for sharing these old kits with us!
That was fun. I've always loved the mirage III lovely aircraft. Something about a kit with working features, always cool. I built the big Revell 1/32 and the italeri Kfir..that kit was a pig...lol I just get a grin looking into kit boxes..thank you!
@@CelebratingVintageModelKits I tackled a lot of crazy kits as a kid, the renwal visible V8, ..lots of Tamiya motorized armor.the giant Revell Saturn V..tube glue and slow drying enamel paints were a hindrance but ,it was all we had. @@CelebratingVintageModelKits I had the entex Wankel also..that one defeated me... Can't wait to see the T33! Flying flapjack..with flapping wings? I gotta see that..never tripped over that one.

I think the Mirage is the quintessential french jet fighter! Not only is it good looking but got the job done!

Hello Italy! We got a couple of 60s Italian kits coming up soon. Very interesting kits. Thanks for watching!

I've built the 1/32 Revell Mirage before. A very basic kit with simple details but captured the design of the craft pretty good.
I recall making a Revell 1/72 Mirage V. Not a bad little kit!

This is about as complex a working feature as I have seen. I can’t imagine a kid in the 60s trying to het it to work!

The box artist is Paul Langellé. Newer box art was/is done by Francis Bergèse. Cheers!
@@MrTelecasterIV Thanks! I know someone out there had the info. His work was very vibrant and painterly.
@@CelebratingVintageModelKits Indeed his work reminds me of aquarelle paintings wich fit the vintage aesthetic very well.
Big fan of Heller kits, but their decals back when were always lacking. Even new, they seemed to arrive pre-yellowed.
I think it was from the Gauloises all the factory workers are issued! Thanks for watching!
Really enjoy your channel. Head over to eBay after your videos and fight the urge to splurge on kits. I sometimes do give in .
Still some deals to be had on there. Shipping costs usually negate the deal though.
@@CelebratingVintageModelKits some of the shipping prices are outrageous.
