Your horizontal shimmer gradient blew my mind. SO STUNNING!! Kaleidos is such a brand that makes really beautiful products. I really WANT it but I really don't NEED it. I already have these colors, I just really love the way Kaleidos presented and packaged them!
I’ve heard many brands are and have been having trouble getting their normal pigments and having to mess with pigments they aren’t used to. They should always be upfront with that though before it’s available to purchase and I wonder if that’s what happened.
Hope you won’t hate me for saying so, but I’m so happy you changed your background. Don’t get me wrong - I have a regular old couch and some old pillows too. Part of me liked how relatable and chill it was for you to just sit down on your floor and talk to us like a friend. But sometimes I felt like you looked so glammed up and pretty, and that background didn’t measure up to be behind you or do you justice. This new background is curated and nice. It does you justice!
The lavender looked kinda rosy to me and the purple seemed to be a similar depth of color/tone as the lavender. Whatever rabbit you pulled out of your kit, you ended up with gorgeous eye looks😊
I was thinking on getting it but now I think I don't really need them, the looks I'd get from them I already have palettes which I could achieve this with. Thank you for your honest thoughts and review
The way you have described these is exactly how I feel.about the first 5 Futurism palettes. I find the shadows are difficult, don't build well on each other, tend to get patchy unless I'm super careful and ultimately I'm rarely happy with the outcome. Also looking at your Astro Pink it doesn't seem to have formed oil rings around the shimmers like mine have. So may they have changed the formula ...
Yaaaaaay! I'm so excited for your first impression/review! Purples tend to be harder to work with especially that have a white base. At least for me. The sashimi palette is really pretty. Looks like a nice neutral palette for someone who likes a more colorful neutral palette. Like me! So pretty!

I have really only just started considering purple eyeshadows and ngl i kind of really want this bc it’d be the perfect little pop of purple in my collection. I just love the tones.
The Sashimi palette is basically my ideal palette. I have a palette of singles from colourpop and clionah that give of the same look. I have slowly made my own palette because I’ve never seen a brand release what I like until now.
That was me with the escape pod! I’d created a similar color story with singles (hot pinks and purples, olive green and orange) but the escape pod was just so beautiful and unique I had to get it!
I'm so excited, my Kaleidos collection should be here tomorrow! I cannot wait. I also got the entire collection with the case, and everything. I was so happy because I wasn't able to get the Escape collection with the case (I got all the other products, though).
I would love it if Kaleidos came out with a small-ish all-shimmer palette! Or make their shadows available as singles. ❤️ The purple look is gorgeous, buy it’s a good reminder to me that I have several purple palettes, and I could definitely do the same look with things I already own. Woah! As I move the red dot through the time line each section is titled by what it is, like "swatches"! Never saw that before.. So cool. I love both looks tho Lauren. I watched someone else use this lavender palette and they used a clear eye primer.. I think it was the Anastasia one. It worked well for them it seemed.

Rebecca Lyn Oberstadt they seem to have a great Customer Service in general! I preordered the sashimi palette (I’m still excited tbh), the charisma contour, a few highlighters and some of their brushes, and I had questions regarding which shade of the charisma should I buy as I’m light skinned with warm complexion, but I was scared that the warm and light would look like a bronzer on me, and they were kind enough to send me a quick comment resolving my doubts! Then I asked them if they could change my shipping address to a different country (yay for lifting traveling restrictions!!!) and, once again, they happily obliged! And meanwhile I’m still waiting for credit store from Juvia’s Place from 3 months ago! 🙄 CS matters! Kaleidos has a fan in me!
I’m pretty bummed that they have been messing with the formula. Their original formula is amazing. What I loved most about them is how creamy they were, so hearing that they are more powdery makes me sad. I heard the Escape Pod palette was different as well. Thank you so much for the comparison swatches. They are so helpful. Seeing your Lunar Lavendar look made think of a look I created with the Astro Pink Palette, but the swatches help me to see they are not as similar. I already bought the Sashimi City palette and the Warm contour palette, so I'm keeping an open mind until I get them. Hoping they work on me! I've gotten the Astro Pink palette, but it left a mixed impression. Lauren's impression of the Lunar Lavender palette is similar to mine with the Astro Pink. I like my end results, but the process is what gets me. Maybe my hopes were too high since so many creators love Kaleidos, but the only thing I loved right off the bat from this brand was their face products.
I love the comparisons! I got the 3 palette bundle last year with the bronze, pink and teal palettes and there's just enough similarities to scratch my itch for the newest thing. I might just rearrange them and see if the magnetic packaging will fit some of my lavender shades...
i ordered both of these and based on the struggles you had im still excited to try them because i think theyll work well for me doing basic looks- im really excited :)
Other people have commented that the shimmers are much more like the escape pod shimmers rather than their original more opaque shimmer shades from the first 5 futurism palettes.

I think the sashimi is a beautiful basic neutral palette but I do wish they had done a little pop of color instead of the two browns. Like keep the darker brown and add a wasabi green or a tuna red/pink, just to have it stand out more to me. Or go really crazy and add a multi chrome white topper, like a yellow tail. For the giveaway I'd be the fair/cool one and @oddishmash
I'm soo into the purples, but I gotta say I wish they were as cool-toned as they look in the pan. I was looking forward to have more lavender shades in my collection, so I'm glad I waited to purchase! Your looks turned out amazing even tho you had to work harder than usual! I know I’m in the minority here, but so far I’ve loved the futurism palettes even more than the escape pod. I ordered these bc I just prefer the 6 pan format over the larger palette. I guess I get overwhelmed by so many shades. I don’t really contour either!

I am glad I waited to watch reviews on this - after Tina's, Annette's, and yours, I think Imma pass. Which is a bummer bc I 💚 Kaleidos. And even though your finished eye look is beautiful, it looks very similar to every other 'good' look folks have made with that palette... which basically just means it's good at making that ONE look. It has been my experience that when a MAC paint pot gets old if affects the performance of the shadows you put over it. I just recently purchased a paint pot at a CCO and because the PP was older than it would be if I had purchased it at a department store or directly from mac I didn't like any of the looks I did with any brands of eyeshadow I used it with. Can you try using these palettes again with the Kaleidos eyeshadow primer? Or if you don't own that one try another formula of eyeshadow primer that is similar to theirs?
I noticed that both reviews I have watched have had trouble with the dark purple. Both times the lights were used first and then darkened. Wonder if these shadows need to used dark to light. Can't wait until mine gets here so I can try. I usually go dark to light anyways
Is it bad that I wanted the suitcase and the bow more than the makeup. I think the escape pod was much more vibrant. I feel like the formulation was different in this collection. The facy face, she couldnt get the matte colors to play well at all, but loved the shimmers.. The packaging seemed to have more care and attention than the product. I feel like kaleidos is still trying to find thier "sweet spot" in thier formula
Okay I'm kind of glad I didn't pick these up, I've really been loving the electro turquoise and have wanted the sci-fi greens and vr neon (RIP to that one), and these seem to perform so differently! Also warm+med, ig vkgmakeup
In a six pan palette I really can't understand why they'd put two near-identical matte browns. In such a small collection every colour has to COUNT people!!

I haven't tried anything from Kaleidos but their brand intrigues me...the packaging, color stories, and theming are all up my alley. I don't own a ton of makeup but even my modest collection covers a lot of ground, so products have to have a little extra oomph to tempt me. Your eye looks are always so inspiring! I love that you're not afraid of one-shadow looks or slapping a shimmer in the crease. If I'm lucky enough to get chosen for the giveaway, the lightest palette would probably work best for my skintone. @adjblair

I want to try this brand in the future, I'm still sad I was broke when they had an amazing sale. Plus they kill it on packaging and the fact they sent reusable pr packages. You don’t need to set a primer as eyeshadow is a powder product and you’d basically be putting powder on top of powder. Primer is supposed to be a little tacky/sticky, it’s what helps the eyeshadow “stick.” It might perform differently over the wear time with a paint pot but it shouldn’t make a difference on application.
I'm a purple aficionado. I own WAY too many purple toned palettes and honestly, I haven't pulled the trigger on this yet after looking at it on the website. The tones are too close together for purple. Everything leans blurple in the pan, a gradient or two away from each other, which always ends up murky & indistinguishable in my experience. In your final look, it leans red--likely because of the brown. So you have a six pan palette that is functionally two 3 or 4 pan palettes (with the browns) because the shimmer & mattes in purple are too close to play together. The browns--something I have a lot of--are left to bridge the gap, shift the tone between the purples you use. It's very meh to me, sadly. Cool & light for the color, instagram: Kimberlysparkles

Still waiting for my preorder to arrive, and I'm a little concerned about the performance of the purple shades. I have similar ones in my Violet Ink palette from Menagerie that work flawlessly, but I'm not typically someone who likes to dip into multiple palettes at a time. I enjoy getting to use the full range of a color story for one look, ya know? We'll see once they get here, but I'm definitely excited about the shimmers. Hey! Email them they can help you. I have ordered on the 29/09 but they would ship the package till the 07/10 bc holidays in China that week. After I emailed them they responded quickly and helpful. They send me a link where a can track the package. I’m from México and the company that they chose to work with it’s a little difficult to work with, anyway Kaleidos said that if it takes more than 35 days they will refund me 30% and if more of 42 they will refund me in full or reship the packaging.

Yep. I don't like that. Purple doesn't mean going pink.
Skin tones and undertones or bases can change the outcome of what a shadow will look like out of the pan

This is their version of two neutral palettes, that's why they're not colorful

Sashimi is just raw fish alone. Sushi is fish over rice with seaweed strip. Maki/roll are seaweed surrounding it. Its aptly named, actually.

Depends on the futurism palette. For example the Turquoise has the glittery shimmer instead of the regular ones

I had issues with the purple palette as well. It def doesnt feel like their normal formula for some reason

I'm soo into the purples, but I gotta say I wish they were as cool-toned as they look in the pan. I was looking forward to have more lavender shades in my collection, so I'm glad I waited to purchase! I wonder if they changed the formula older palettes as well, or are they just experimenting with each new launch?
Your looks turned out amazing even tho you had to work harder than usual! I know I’m in the minority here, but so far I’ve loved the futurism palettes even more than the escape pod. I ordered these bc I just prefer the 6 pan format over the larger palette. I guess I get overwhelmed by so many shades. I don’t really contour either!
I would love it if kaleidos did individual pans with their special shades😍

The purples really did look the same when you first applied the darker one over the top of the lilac one. The metallics are amazing and the packaging is everything though!

I am glad I waited to watch reviews on this - after Tina's, Annette's, and yours, I think Imma pass. Which is a bummer bc I 💚 Kaleidos. And even though your finished eye look is beautiful, it looks very similar to every other 'good' look folks have made with that palette... which basically just means it's good at making that ONE look. I don't really need that in my life... Ah well.

It has been my experience that when a MAC paint pot gets old if affects the performance of the shadows you put over it. I just recently purchased a paint pot at a CCO and because the PP was older than it would be if I had purchased it at a department store or directly from mac I didn't like any of the looks I did with any brands of eyeshadow I used it with. Can you try using these palettes again with the Kaleidos eyeshadow primer? Or if you don't own that one try another formula of eyeshadow primer that is similar to theirs?

I noticed that both reviews I have watched have had trouble with the dark purple. Both times the lights were used first and then darkened. Wonder if these shadows need to used dark to light. Can't wait until mine gets here so I can try. I usually go dark to light anyways
Is it bad that I wanted the suitcase and the bow more than the makeup. I think the escape pod was much more vibrant. I feel like the formulation was different in this collection. The facy face, she couldnt get the matte colors to play well at all, but loved the shimmers.. The packaging seemed to have more care and attention than the product. I feel like kaleidos is still trying to find thier "sweet spot" in thier formula
Could you compare these two to the ofra eye pallets? That would be amazing. Would so respect your thoughts!!!

In a six pan palette I really can't understand why they'd put two near-identical matte browns. In such a small collection every colour has to COUNT people!!
Wow I was really close to getting that purple palette with the hype and the cute packaging but I was on a low buy this month so talked myself out it. Glad I did, I'd rather get their Futurism V deep down. Great video!

Oooo I love that look you created with Sashimi City! I've never seen that placement of shimmers before! So cool! I'm sad these aren't living up to our expectations of their past palettes. It's such a pretty collection.

I haven't tried anything from Kaleidos but their brand intrigues me...the packaging, color stories, and theming are all up my alley. I don't own a ton of makeup but even my modest collection covers a lot of ground, so products have to have a little extra oomph to tempt me.
Your eye looks are always so inspiring! I love that you're not afraid of one-shadow looks or slapping a shimmer in the crease.
If I'm lucky enough to get chosen for the giveaway, the lightest palette would probably work best for my skintone.

I want to try this brand in the future, I'm still sad I was broke when they had an amazing sale. Plus they kill it on packaging and the fact they sent reusable pr packages. *Hey, does it make a difference if you set your eyeshadow primer since you're using a paint pot?*
You don’t need to set a primer as eyeshadow is a powder product and you’d basically be putting powder on top of powder. Primer is supposed to be a little tacky/sticky, it’s what helps the eyeshadow “stick.” It might perform differently over the wear time with a paint pot but it shouldn’t make a difference on application.
I'm a purple aficionado. I own WAY too many purple toned palettes and honestly, I haven't pulled the trigger on this yet after looking at it on the website. The tones are too close together for purple. Everything leans blurple in the pan, a gradient or two away from each other, which always ends up murky & indistinguishable in my experience. In your final look, it leans red--likely because of the brown. So you have a six pan palette that is functionally two 3 or 4 pan palettes (with the browns) because the shimmer & mattes in purple are too close to play together. The browns--something I have a lot of--are left to bridge the gap, shift the tone between the purples you use. It's very meh to me, sadly.

Still waiting for my preorder to arrive, and I'm a little concerned about the performance of the purple shades. I have similar ones in my Violet Ink palette from Menagerie that work flawlessly, but I'm not typically someone who likes to dip into multiple palettes at a time. I enjoy getting to use the full range of a color story for one look, ya know? We'll see once they get here, but I'm definitely excited about the shimmers.

How long did it take for you to get them? I ordered a few things from them on 9/24, still haven’t arrived and no word on shipping.
Hey! Email them they can help you. I have ordered on the 29/09 but they would ship the package till the 07/10 bc holidays in China that week. After I emailed them they responded quickly and helpful. They send me a link where a can track the package. I’m from México and the company that they chose to work with it’s a little difficult to work with, anyway Kaleidos said that if it takes more than 35 days they will refund me 30% and if more of 42 they will refund me in full or reship the packaging.
