- The US has revealed formally that the hitherto unnamed Indian government official who is allegedly responsible for a plot to assassinate pro-Khalistan activist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is Vikash Yadav, an operative of the Research and Analysis Wing. Meanwhile Canada has said it has “irrefutable evidence” that the Narendra Modi government has used Indian diplomats stationed in Canada as well as the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal gang as part of a campaign of systemic violence on Canadian soil. Both countries have expelled six diplomats each, as otherwise friendly ties have taken an unprecedented turn. External Affairs minister S. Jaishankar has become the first Indian minister to visit Pakistan in nine years in a visit that was not marked by the usual verbal sparring.

To add to what Amit said, it is the manner in which Canada dealt with Nijjar issue is in stark contrast to how the US dealt with it. the US dealt with quietly with Indian officials whereas Trudeau went to town accusing India openly and vociferously as if to intentionally rub it in while ignoring India's own accusations against pro-Khalistani elements sheltered in Canada. There is also the history, Trudeau senior also ignored India's warning about Khalistani terrorists in Cnada plotting against India which ultimately led to the downing of Air India plane with 329 casualties for which Canada took more than decade to prosecute a peripheral player while downplaying Khalistani threats. There is decades long bad blood between India and Canada over Khalistani issues.
