It may be provocative answer but it is Truth, and India doesn't care! India is not going to please any one at the cost of her interest! India came out her silence and shy mode to bold truth speaking nation! India is now world largest populous country & largest democracy and has to maintain it's majesties - Jaishankar is gift to India to represents in the world stage and give a bold diplomatic answer to the world! It is pity and foolishness for US & West to expect India to support them blindly anything, like Pakistan and NATO countries - once they ready to attack India (1971) supporting Pakistan whereas USSR-Russia protected India!

It's trying to square the circle for the US because the US only sees things in bi-polarity, which is either you're with us or you're we those we don't like. India has the ability to view things much better than in bi-polar terms. The Indian mind is much more developed in building constructive relationships with two parties that don't like each other; remember that India or Bharat as a civilization has survived and thrived for 10,000 years in which they will have collected some wisdom than a country that is 240-odd years old (a newborn or an infant at best in terms of millennia of existence)! And, the relationship with Russia will probably survive longer than the existence of the US in time to come.
