We know they are not immediately from Africa but we love and feel connection with them all the same. In our languages, the curly hair they have on their heads is called an Afro. So we still say these are Afro people although we know they don’t reside in and have not recently come from Africa. Also, just as they call themselves Melanesian, Negrito, ect. these things all means Black or with melanin so we usually call them Black in our languages. We are more alike than we are different even though our genetics are not the same. The same way the genetics of West Africans is different than East Africans, we’re still family ❤️

We all came from Africa. Most of my ancestors left there probably 100,000s of years ago but still from Africa. We are just one big dysfunctional family. Christ tells me to get functional again.

there are 30 Negrito tribes throughout the Philippines and they're called different things depending on the region- Ati, Dumagat, Agta, Mamanwa, etc. They number over 400,000 total according to the census. And the majority of Filipinos have Negrito admixture according to the PNAS genetic study. So they're not a separate people. They are part of our heritage.

Also according to the study Philippine Ayta possess the highest level of Denisovan ancestry in the world
      Summary
Multiple lines of evidence show that modern humans interbred with archaic Denisovans. Here, we report an account of shared demographic history between Australasians and Denisovans distinctively in Island Southeast Asia. Our analyses are based on ∼2.3 million genotypes from 118 ethnic groups of the Philippines, including 25 diverse self-identified Negrito populations, along with high-coverage genomes of Australopapuans and Ayta Magbukon Negritos. We show that Ayta Magbukon possess the highest level of Denisovan ancestry in the world-∼30%-40% greater than that of Australians and Papuans-consistent with an independent admixture event into Negritos from Denisovans. Together with the recently described Homo luzonensis, we suggest that there were multiple archaic species that inhabited the Philippines prior to the arrival of modern humans and that these archaic groups may have been genetically related. Altogether, our findings unveil a complex intertwined history of modern and archaic humans in the Asia-Pacific region, where distinct Islander Denisovan populations differentially admixed with incoming Australasians across multiple locations and at various points in time.

They're not "Afro." Afro means related to Africa. They're Melanesians. They're related to Australian aborigines and indigenous people from Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Fiji, etc. Yes, they sort of look like Africans (you can call them black) but genetically, they're the most distant from Africans.
Edit: A lot of you are saying, "but they migrated out from Africa." Well, so did everyone else. In that sense, you should also call Europeans and Asians as Africans. They were one of the first groups to leave Africa. And, yes, genetically, they're closer to Polynesians and South Indians than present-day Africans. African Americans, Haitians, black Brazilians, etc., are all Africans because they have a connection to contemporary Africa, but these guys have been far removed from African cultures and customs for thousands of years just like Europeans or Asians or indigenous Americans.

This is such a stark contrast from many Filipinas who would only date a white guy with thin lips and blue eyes. From the video, and I could be mistaken, it seems that they have this Society that's fairly happy..... And they're not worried about them lips Blue eyes straight hair, who looks wide enough, who doesn't... Imagine a world where you didn't have to even grow up thinking like that. It would be like breathing a new kind of air.

This is pretty much the same all over the islands. People are living free and do their own thing mostly farming. They have their own tribal leaders and yes they're being protected including their lands. They stay away from the drama politics and the other fair skin Filipinos. There's 100+ tribal groups in the Philippines. We all belong to one of them. You all just don't see it but we ourselves know. There's Ilonggo, Cebuano, Waray, Zamboangueno, tasaday, Lumad, Ilocano etc. We have Sea people too that live in the oceans more in the south.

How about the Aeta leaders, what are they doing in the community? The National government gave them special status then. They're living inside the province of Pampanga, and that is a rich province. But it would go around killing and eating everyone’s animals. And there was also a spirit of a man with a white shirt they say everytime someone says they seen em they pass days later and I’ve known this to be true myself with my grandmother friend miss Rita she moved into a house in my neighborhood that’s haunted I lived that lady man but she said she seen em an passed a day or two maybe three later then her sister died a day or two later. Then more ppl moved in and someone seen the spirit and this other lady died. They're Indigenous people of the islands and being protected by the government like the Indigenous native American Indians. But there's a 100+ tribal groups all over our islands. In history they said there were already 5 million people in the islands when Magellan found us. With your vlog hope the politicians wake up and put electricity, build roads, bridges and yes toilets for schools and community. For private houses all they do is dig a hole in their backyards. God bless and have a happy, safety new year to you.

They may be black but they’re not African, “Australo-Melanesians” is probably the correct term for them unless I’m mistaken. Calling them Afro-Filipinos makes no sense given that they’re indigenous to that land and came to the islands before the austronesian peoples(the majority ethnic group of the Philippines). Imagine calling the Inuit peoples of Canada and other native Americans Asian-Canadian or Asian -Americans🤦🏾‍♂️and it might be even be worse cuz the Aeta have been there (🇵🇭)for longer than the Inuit in Canada and USA. Putting “black Filipinos” in the title might be more appropriate but then again idk.

@@DianahDaisy yes no problem, it’s all about learning more everyday. From my understanding it’s the difference between race and ethnicity. Racially we’re both consider“black” but ethnically were African whilst they’re Australo-Melanesian. Also if the populations like the Amazigh of Algeria are considered to be indigenous to Africa then that would mean that not all Africans are black, however since we are the majority racial group in Africa then it makes sense as to why these words are used interchangeably.

They're not necessarily "Afro" (in the "Sub-Saharan African and those closely related to them" sense)
They're actually most closely related to other Negrito/Melanesian/Papuan ethnic groups and Sub-Saharan Africans are actually one of the most genetically distant from these groups, in fact, a Chinese person would be more closely related to an Aeta than a Kenyan person
The pinned comment also says this but there's arguments going on in the reply section so I'll clear things up
    1. No, it's not "colonial education" genetic testing has proved that the 2 are very distinct groups
    2. They look similar due to something called "convergent evolution" they stayed long enough in a certain environment where these features were best suitable to survive
    3. To state these facts is not hatred towards Africa, different does not equal bad, we're all brothers and sisters of humanity, it's not forbidden to bond and love them just because they're different!

    • @crenshawgrinder4725
      @crenshawgrinder4725 5 днів тому

Please stop it. This is not convergent evolution. These people had those traits when they migrated from Africa. They are connected to some of the first people who migrated out of Africa to populate the rest of the Earth. The environment did not change their genetics much as those who migrated to colder climates.
