Brilliant video....cant wait for part 24. As a Liverpool fan I didnt have much knowledge of Leeds in the mid to late seventies but this channel has changed all that. Jimmy Adamsons buys were woeful and the comments in the local paper were spot on.....replacing champions with lower league fodder while alienating the fan base. Keep up the excellent work.
I’m no Leeds fan, but I love football history and these videos are brilliant. So much great archive material. Just sad that I binge watched the all over Christmas and now have to wait for each new one to come along.
This Chanel is one of the true hidden gems of UA-cam .....truly EXCELLENT work ....and I’m not even a Leeds fan.....I just got into this game 5-10 years ago .

I remember after the final whistle in the home game against Valletta, the Maltese team walked up to the Kop and we all chanted Valletta. They celebrated their 3-0 defeat like they had won the European Cup. After Leeds had won 4-0 in Malta, everyone was expecting a record cricket score, but Valletta but up a good account of themselves, and the Leeds fans appreciated and recognised how well they played, by chanting their name, as the Valletta players approached and clapped the Kop.
Brilliant again...but this is painful reliving of that time. I suspect the next episode features the Aston Villa game at home which resulted in more 'Adamson Out!!!' chanting under the boardroom. I was there that night. The grimness of all this is fascinating. I wonder what the likes of Eddie Gray, Trevor Cherry and Paul Madeley were thinking at that time having been through the great years.
How quickly we fell from being the best team in the land to ultimately being relegated. After Johnny Giles didn't get the job & the wrong decision of giving Clough the job, we should have stayed with Armfield longer. Losing Tony Currie was a big loss. Some of the woeful signings & the club losing money meant we couldn't possibly compete, bar an odd cup run.
Brilliant video. I was born at the end of 89 and this series has really helped fill in the blanks for me regarding leeds. Great to see so much footage I have never seen.

I hadn't realized what a clean player Eddie Gray was. Just goes to show that you can be your own man no matter what team you play in. I wonder if he got stick from Bremner, Yorath and the other less "savoury" players for not getting stuck in enough.
Bremner, huh? Once saw an interview with the late & great Bill Shankly who, when asked if he would name his greatest all-time XI, replied that the first thing he'd do is put Bremner in the no. 4 shirt... perhaps that's why Eddie Gray, even if he did get "stick" from his club captain, as you happen to suggest, probably didn't gaf.

I was 13 and Forest away was my first match. It was all ticket and my sister and I were outside ground and a copper let us in for free and we managed to find my sister's hubby in the crowd. Bolton away was my next game.......hooked ever since.
Brilliant. Never seen craiova away before, unfortunately saw the 2nd leg. Unusual for jasper putting his penalties to his right. Did he ever put one anywhere else, apart from over the bar obviously. Great memories of wonder, anticipation and excitement of what was in store. Shame we had to watch the game before leaving for the west stand car park. Keep it up

I was at that home game against Valetta. We went 1-0 up in the first 20 seconds or so and looked like we could score at any time. Should easily have been by a lot more but the players just relaxed and went through the motions. As a young kid I was a bit pissed off, but professionalism took over as the tie was won.
I wonder if the Valetta players got £40 'pocket money' each, or had to share it?
This is the season it all started going the shape of the pear.

I'm not a Leeds fan (Chelsea) but if you can't see that the story of Leeds in the 70's remains completely fascinating then you're either culturally illiterate or incapable of fascination.
