Ahh so lovely to spend time with you at the retreat! Your Ressac is amazing and I just love how that zip up came out! The fabric is just gorgoeus! Loved the sewing room tour!! The glass cabinet is very art deco! It looks gorgeous ❤❤
Thank you for the sewing space tour! I remember when I was a young mom and money was very tight for us, my sewing table was a board placed on top of two boxes. It was tucked in a corner of the living room. Good memories. Decades later, the kids have grown up and moved out, so now I have a dedicated room for my sewing. ❤
Love your sweatshirt and the joggers you made your husband are really fantastic, the side panel looks so cool! I’ll miss your cheerful vlogs in Dec! See you in the New Year! Have a blessed Christmas ❤️😍
Ooh I've had my eye on that new Maison Fauve jumper- it looks great! I love a sewing room tour too, that art deco looking cabinet you inherited is gorgeous, and the box on the legs is so practical, it looks like it holds a lot.
Glad you had a good weekend away. Your makes are lovely. I notice your husband is assuming there will be a next pair! 😂 You do an amazing job in that space. Makes me ashamed that my whole sewing room is such a mess!! Thank you for a year of interesting and entertaining videos. Have a great Christmas and New Year and look forward to seeing you soon.
@@annesullivan1171 Thanks, they are a bit pricey but I think most indie patterns are around that price. I think the level of detail on this one makes it worth the money 😊
I've seen a few of those Ressac sweaters and I am tempted, but I feel I have enough patterns, including some for sweatshirts, although it does have some nice unusual features. Hmm! I would love to try a sewing retreat, but it depends how far away it is, as I don't drive very far on my own. I am lucky that I have a whole room to use as my sewing room, but I am intrigued how people manage in multi-use spaces. It looks like it works well for you.
@@Yorkygirl59 I know what you mean, I have a raglan sweater pattern already but the extra details really caught my eye. Give it a go 😉 Perhaps you could organise a retreat? I set up my sewing sewcial as there wasn't anything near me.
I admire your use of your sewing space and how you use it. I always sewed in the dining room and cut out on the floor. I have a board. Those days are long gone and I couldn’t crawl around on the floor now. It was never easy when I was young, Recently I started laying my board on the kitchen table and have found that is working well, as I get the width. I was considering buying another table that has adjustable legs but they are very narrow. I set up my sewing room about 8 years ago in sons downstairs bedroom( after he’d left home obviously )and have to confess it’s a dreadful mess😩However it’s a job I haven’t got time to tackle yet so Ive made umpteen sewing projects in that mess! Ive just got too much in there. I really like your sweatshirts. How did you exactly match that ribbing? I’ve just bought the Paige hoodie pattern so that should really be my next garment. I’ve used the Billie a lot but mainly as a dress. Your retreat sounds fabulous. I’m lucky enough to go to Derbyshire every April with my love sewing mag pals. There were 10 of us in a photo shoot 6 years ago for the magazine and we’ve done this ever since. In between I had a stroke but I can still sew! It was a main goal for recovery and to do my ballet classes. Well done for sewing with a young family and working. I tended to stop sewing in my busiest years as a teacher. 😊
@@ruthlanwarne8978 Hi Ruth, don't worry about your sewing room, looking at it as a whole can feel daunting and demotivating. I matched the colours by luck, the fabrics are fuschia pink and luckily they came in very close even from different stores. What a lovely history behind your sewing retreat, I expect you're all very close friends now. So great that sewing has helped your recovery, it's therapeutic in many ways 😊
At some point, you might want to consider a different sewing table option. In my last home, I built something like what is shown in this video (only deeper) for my sewing machine. You can also have additional shelves underneath, basically it would be like a bookcase with a folding table in the middle. Just an idea 😊 Love the pink sweatshirt. ua-cam.com/video/mi3gHl1S_2U/v-deo.htmlsi=yMljoMxEib-M-iKw
