Do you receive the movie in layers, or do you have to roto everything yourselves?
Please upload fighter, RRR, 2.0, race 3 VFX breakdown.
I'm waiting.
This movie definitely looked like the studio gave DNEG neither enough time nor enough budget to do it. CGI on quite a few shots (particularly the lighting) looked out of place.
Not all of it though.
You also have to remember that the budget for this movie was not as much like the ones before, add on the fact that this movie included more screen time for the monsters which took even more from the budget
@@Burrvev247 A lower budget doesn’t exactly excuse inconsistent VFX. Let me give an example with Dawn of and War for the POTA.
Dawn - $170 million, 1000+ VFX shots
War - $152 million, 1400 VFX shots
Yet War looks as good, if not better than Dawn
Yeah… what was GXK’s excuse again?
@@kotm2021It actually does hinder it, reason why the planet of the apes movies looks good is because they were shot in real location which helps with realism and visual interest(lighting) which is a big factor for CGI. GxK mostly used a digital environment which is costly. Another big factor are the character movements, they don’t move or react to their giving weight which makes the CGI stick out like a sore thumb-take the 2014 Godzilla movie for example:Movie was shot on location which helps with lighting as mention above and the monsters move and react to their size and weight. If you were to take the 2014 movie and add the speed that the monsters in GXK have it wouldn’t look good, not to mention the style each director has. Not trying to make an excuse or defend the bad CGI in GxK because there’s no reason to. So relax, take a sip of water and enjoy the VFX breakdown for these movies
@@Burrvev247 Fine. There is good to have. But let’s not use lower budget, and if we are, that’s still the fault of the studio, meaning the film would be stumbling from the start
