- This latest film shows the honest challenges of stalking the elusive Japanese Sika in the Wicklow Mountains of Ireland, when weather was our biggest challenge!
We hope you enjoy this recount from our time with Norman Mulvany of Irish Safaris from early November 2023. If you want to book a trip similar to this contact Norman at: irishsafaris.ie
We aim to always bring you our own independent films that show the REAL side of UK fieldsports, deer stalking and trips abroad. Any small contribution would truly help to cover costs that go into maintaining the production level of each project that we bring to UA-cam. You can kindly do so by following this link: buymeacoffee.com/cervusuk
Lastly, if you could KINDLY like, share & comment it would greatly help us with the distribution of this video into the big wide algorithm world of UA-cam! Thanks & see you in the next one! 🙏🏼
Cracking video chaps, always well made!
Glad you enjoyed it, appreciate the support. 🙏🏻
Fantastic film as always, that looks hard, hard ground.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! It certainly was hard and the Sika + weather weren’t playing ball either making it even harder.
Congrats
Great video as usually 👌.
I had similar situation with wild horses in Foothills of Alberta.
Great Video 💯 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Maybe a 'Wicklow Black Ghost Continued' in winter 2024? Beautiful shot on the hind though.
Saludos desde Argentina amigos !! Muy hermosos el cuervo Sika acá en argentina no lo tenemos
Norman looked proper pissed off at the start 😂😂😂 .
First👌
Another great video.
No thermal spotters being used ?
❤ your cap. Please which model is that?
Great job 👌 What make of rifle is that you used in the video?
Is there an issue with the sound when out on the hill?
Love the Sika and would love to go there.
Yes apologies for that, the wind ripped through the side of the mic out on the open hill, so it’s messed with the audio levels 👎🏻
Is that the same as the course deer here in the states
Couse deer
No, this species is Cervus Nippon, native to East Asia, but introduced into Ireland in late 1800’s . The Coues deer you mention are a cousin of your typical Whitetail deer (Odocoileus virginianus) 👍🏼
There’s some sika in Maryland USA, maybe you’re familiar with those deer
It looked like to be you had the barrel resting on the loaded area on your sticks??? not a good idea.
Correct. Not a good idea. Thankfully the barrel wasn’t resting on the sticks when I took the shot. As I’ve looked back to talk to camera/Norman after the shot, the rifle has slightly pulled back making the forend slip off with barrel resting on sticks instead. 🤦🏼♂️
👍👍🦌👍👍🦌🦌👍👍
It would be nice if silka replied to my emails regarding a faulty bino pack which let go on a hunt in the lake district causing my thermal to exit the bino pack lower strap gome away hopefully i might get a reply
Which brand is this? Sitka? Harkila? Hope you get it fixed. 👍🏼
