That is a marvelous Stag. I hunt on the Maryland Eastern Shore in the USA and have never seen a Stag bigger than a six point at the check in stations. I have never seen one while hunting but they are around. My brother killed a button Stag ten years ago with a muzzleloader and it was prime eating. We hunt the Whitetail deer here but the Sitka is a regular in the swamp land.
They might be the toughest you have in the UK but if you want to hunt tough deer come to Victoria Australia and hunt our mighty Sambar Deer in our alpine country the Deer are tough and so is the country they live in ,It's hot as hell in the summer and covered in snow in the winter and it's the best place to live in the world
I do wonder if thermal and new technology is taking away the magic and natural aspect of hunter v animal from stalking. Do we really need aimpoint acquisition systems on top of a 2k scope? And thermal I fear will only have a negative effect on the population with the animal no longer having a fair chance. I've used thermal and soon sold it after as the stalking became too easy and I started to loose the love for stalking. Since going back to basics it's become a passion once again.
Hi just asking How much does it cost to hunt in England or Europe. Do I need to go to hunting school. I am willing to learn from You Folks. You All are Awesome shots. Thank You for what You do 🦌
Thanks for this. It can be as much or as little as you like, depending on what you want to hunt. An outing for a big sika stag like Roy's can be pricy - from £100s to £1000s. The BASC wildfowling permit scheme is just a few £s. If you don't have a gun licence, you can go out with a deerstalker who will lend you a rifle (as long as you shoot straight). Best thing to do is ask around for a local professional stalker or gamekeeper and see what they charge. Hope this helps. / Charlie
You know people like you piss me off because you are probably the type to complain about people shooting small deer and then come and complain about people shooting big deer. It is a legal deer that’s why he took it.
I don’t have a problem with any deer being shot so long as there is good reason. It was more a question for my own knowledge. But thanks for your irrelevant input. There’s enough things in the world to complain about already before complaining about a sport that I love, such as “why on earth would some one call their child Trayson?!” 😂

Absolutely - am going to buy a single shot and a 6x40 for deer, what more do you need..
Great country!👍
All are blessed.❤️

What make and model rifle was used ?
Nice spot to hunt that's for sure and well shot as well

Whats a gold medal stag in the uk im from nz
1:43 " It was a little more Irish than I'd have expected" 😂 We have excellent Sika over here also for your information 🤌🏻😂
They are realy beautiful animals.
But don't you have in Britain any native deer species?
Roe and red are our native deer species.
Are they haunted too or preserved ?
@@Akarnf2 they are hunted. None of Britain’s six deer species fall under protected status and all have an open and closed season.
Looked like a good hit
Roy ,as a life long falconer, have you ever thought of not pulling that trigger?
well done bro.
Roy try removing the rubber sleeve over the sceery caller you were using. Gives a more realistic call
Nordic Sika Call much better sounding, brings them in like a train.
my dad had the deer shooting there before elliot

Buenos ejemplares para cazar
It seems he was in his prime, why would you take that one out of the herd?!
You know people like you piss me off because you are probably the type to complain about people shooting small deer and then come and complain about people shooting big deer. It is a legal deer that’s why he took it.
Plus I’m sure he has given out his genes to plenty of other deer

Great stag but that bloke needs to either quit the durries or do some cardio. Sounded like he was struggling as he was waddling along
Mate the fella has had serious hip problems and multiple operations, it’s a miracle he’s walking let alone stalking! All power to him I say.
Sika are dead easy to stalk. Roe take some sneaking up on but no way are Sika difficult.
Do you actually stalk? Roe are the most predictable deer I’ve ever seen. Are you shooting park sika or something?😂
Dude come to New zealand and say that they arnt easy deer here and they are alot bigger
Don't agree with the use of thermals at all. Very unfair on the animal.
No different that using a fish finder on a boat
You have no idea how deer hunting works
Roy calling in wild fart cushions.........
If you shot the beast in the neck in the first place , then you could say it was a perfect shot...
🇪🇨
If you can't carry your catch don't effing kill it so disrespectful
For gods sake, get a freaking life and leave these beautiful animals alone. What the hell are you on?
Don’t watch it if you don’t like it
Maurice go take your make up off
