I've been scrapbooking for about 25 years, and my completed scrapbooks are my favorite things I own. They make me so happy and they're worth all the work.
My only advice to you is to keep in mind that there is no wrong way to make a scrapbook. You don't need fancy tools and supplies to make a scrapbook you will love. Some of them look unapproachably complex these days, so you don't need to concern yourself with making yours as fancy as other ones you see. Make what you enjoy, and what makes you happy.
