Hey buddy! Cheers for the comment! Man the tuners is such a great idea! I honestly think the stock ones may be the only thing I'm not crazy about on the guitar! Locking tuners definitely an upgrade! We're the D'addario a straight swap with no mods? Cheers
I love the statement. Yes, we buy new guitars because we have phycolgical problems...So I am interested in this guitar for solo performances. I currently use an acoustic guitar with a pickup. I loop and solo a good amount so I think this might be a good fit. I haven't seen many people try to achieve an acoustic sound like you did. What are your thoughts?? Thanks
The G2410TG is no longer available--a pity because it's a great way to get into a true Gretsch hollow body, albeit from the Indonesian factory. I found one (NOS) in Village Amber. The pickups are surprisingly good; however, it seemed to have a 3-way switch issue in the mid-position--erratic signal loss from either pup or sometimes both. Long story short--it wasn't the switch--it was miss-wired volume pots, set up as if for a single pickup rather than two pickups. Turns out this can be a common mistake that can frustrate most repair techs at first glance. Nor is it an isolated case; it's popped up in a number of models in the Streamliner line. It's fixable but it's fiddly, as are all hollow bodies. I downloaded the appropriate wiring diagram from Gretsch support, which corroborated my conclusion of miss-wired pots. So, I replaced the pots w/full size alphas, rewired using a new orange drop capacitor, a treble bleed on the master volume, and a gold Tru-tone dual-clamp jack. I'm still into it for under $500. It is definitely a keeper.
I have the same guitar in Village Amber. I put gold Gretsch knobs and gold d'addario locking tuners on it and it is an Absolute Beast!!!
Wow great upgrades

@@SoulStringChannel I have to say ... the tuners suck.
