You guys have no equal when it comes to reviewing air purifiers. You are objective, detailed, comprehensive, clear, and extremely helpful when it comes to sorting it the various features and performances of these devices. Well done!
Far too kind, thank you! We will keep striving to make improvements with every review but these words of encouragement are very much appreciated. Hope you stick around as have lots more review planned for this year and next.
Thank you for the review. I am in the EU market, and they do refer to the filters as HEPA. Do you know if they use a different filter over here, or is it just that the legal issue in the US hasn't impacted the marketing over here? I'm curious how would you compare this to the Coway 150 or 250 for dust and mold (old home)?
I have heard this and am not sure why they would still use the term HEPA in the European market but I would imagine the US is the primary market as they are based in the US. Maybe its a risk of class action suit that they don't worry about as much in EU? You get a little more power with the Coway 150 and a lot more with the 250 (Although I haven't tested this device yet but it is on my list to look at soon.) Hope that helps!
@@HouseFresh Regulations in the EU are much more strict than in the US. They would be sued by the EU's consumer protection lawyers if the marketing was incorrect. It's likely that they are only selling HEPA filters in the EU. The EU has been rather obsessed with air quality in recent years.
Love the review, I have 2 of these for bedrooms and i love them. My biggest complaints are that you cant use pet mode without the app, and it may be a “me” issue but my Alexa has trouble setting the modes over voice
They need to have buttons for pet moded! No got Alexa but will have to get one for testing. Thanks for your kind words, had issues with the mic so this video took longer to get published.
That would be for 2 air changes per hour but a much better estimate is for 5 air changes per hour as per CDC: www.cdc.gov/niosh/ventilation/prevention/Aim-for-5.html#:~:text=hour%20(AHC).-,When%20possible%2C%20aim%20for%205%20or%20more%20air%20changes%20per,%E2%80%A0)%20to%20your%20existing%20ventilation.
You get a small bump in performance over the 300S which cleaned our test room in 45 minutes and the Vital 100S took 38 minutes. The other benefit is that you get a removal pre-filter with the Vital 100S which is a little easier to keep clean vs removing the filter like you have to do with the 300S.
Great videos about air purifiers ! Can you make a review for the Dyson TP-09 ? It’s strange Dyson never refers to the CADR. I’m curious about the performance of this because of the premium price !
Hey I do have a review of the TP07 which is likely very similar performance but it’s only a written review housefresh.com/dyson-purifier-cool-tp07-review/ I did discover the CADR and you will see why Dyson don’t use it in their marketing much 😀
I haven’t but I have been offered an 18% commission to push it. I normally only get 3% so this makes me a little suspect that it’s not a good unit as otherwise why would you need to give affiliates such a big chunk? I will look to test but my spider sense makes me think it’s not a good unit.
Not tested for this particular model of air purifier but when I have tested for other brands/models , the generic filters perform as well as the OEM for removing particles.
I have filmed 2 videos this week focusing on air purifiers available in the UK, the Winix Zero S/Se and the Philips 3000i. Have also made sure to quote prices in £ and $ but as many of our existing reviews are based on US energy prices I have still kept that so we can still compare to the other 80+ devices we have tested. Is there anything else you want me to include to help UK customers?
New to the air purifier arena. We recently bought two thanks to your channel, so thank you! I noticed the app measures air quality. Is it normal to almost always have an "Indoor Air Quality Very Good" reading? It has read "good" or "moderate" air quality before but only for about 20 seconds or so. Does this mean it is cleaning the air that fast? By the way, thanks for the tip on cleaning the senor every couple of months.
All dependent on the air quality in your area so might be very good in your location. I still like to have them run on medium speed to provide benefits of reduced exposure to viral particles from other people or continually remove allergens.
Levoit has now removed the term HEPA from their marketing material so we can assume the filters are not HEPA grade. Whilst this isn't a good look for Levoit, the use of non-HEPA grade can actually improve performance in air purifiers as they will allow for more airflow than what you find with HEPA grade filters so they can actually remove tiny particles faster. This guy did a great video on this: ua-cam.com/video/gaQTYrisieA/v-deo.html& So whilst it's not good for their brand reputation, this is still an effective device.

hmm why is it on the official website it says it is for room with 52meter square

Is the performance of this Vital 100S better than the Core 300S? If so by how much? Would you say its worth paying a bit more ?

Is that a big advantage that it has pre wash filter compare to levoit 300s? Thanks bro❤
Yeah and the fan motor is more efficient compared to the core 300x.
