DIY Indoor Shutters for under $200

This was an easy half day project that turned out great for the room it went in. You could adapt this one easily to make them tailored for your window at home, work, church or anywhere.

I like this idea shutters with the barn door sliding .
Now if only I could build them with the function of opening and closing the shutters like typical interior shutters

That’s a good idea! We actually were trying to create shutters that open and closed on the rail and also open and closed like a normal shutter. It’s doable, but it would take more time than we were willing to devote. Lol

Lol just watched the outdoor video. The indoor ones are much like mine. But we stained them to match the wood trim in the house... I've seen other videos where people used shiplap. I should have done that. After putting them up, my boards have shrunk a little bit. And left small gaps between the wood...

When I paint bolts or screws, I get an old shoe box or box so the hardware is virticle and they don't stick to the board.

Amazon. Just search any barn door hardware. I don’t think we’ve ever bought from the same one twice. Lol. All of them have been good. We’ve done several barn door projects.
