My biggest question is would it be possible to drill/tap all the way through the scale so that you could fit the old clip with no forehead screws on from the inside??? I wonder if the holes line up with the old clips??
I bought and returned the street. It was too pokey and just felt too constraining in grip size for my slightly large hand. I’ve got the 229 ordered now & can hardly wait! I’d been waiting a full year to find a new 229, as I know that bit of extra length will make all the difference I need to truly love everything about this knife design. Just know, that if you’ve a smaller hand, the Street is an amazing high quality knife manufactured by Reate. The quality will be top level and the acoustics while opening & closing will be special! Fingers crossed that 229 will check all the boxes!
I used to have one of the older street versions with the micarta inlay and it had the clip with the hidden screws. I honestly prefer the gen 4 with the screws showing because that's how Chaves' customs and mid techs are.
