    You are the only one I've seen get the premise of the skit. Every other reaction video I've seen doesn't mention that the teacher I from the inner city, where there are more unique names. Black people tend to go with unique names that stand out, at least in my experience, and it's a pretty common trope for comedy in the US.

      It’s also a play on the braindead 7 million movies about a white teacher going in to “save” the inner city and having to put up with disruptive classes but then finally being accepted. Bill Burr did a really great bit about it. ua-cam.com/video/rjJlE2BxQfA/v-deo.html

      Black parents born after a certain time period (say last 30 years or so) are a lot more inclined to name their kids with "unique" spellings or names. This was probably more of attempts to "differentiate" their kids names from what they consider names that may have been associated with "plantation" names from a long bygone era.

    They're just called inner city schools. He says it at the beginning. This implies that the kids he was teaching were mostly black who often do have that kind take on names and if you've ever been to an inner city school, the kids do tend to try to get one over on the substitutes when they can, so his reaction of being confrontational to them is accurate.

      Why do the blacks in USA have such strange name spellings

    • @theoblongbox4909
      @theoblongbox4909 4 місяці тому

      @@Jayhow90 It's just a cultural practice. They just like to make names more unique.The same way they have names that may seem odd to some (even other Spanish speaking countries) in a place like the Dominican Republic. I have actually started to see the same things happen with certain White Americans as well. They will give the child a name like "Carleigh" or other unique spellings like that.
