Snap turning may seem janky, but it's supposed to lessen the nausea caused by turning in vr. It's not an issue for everyone who uses vr, but it definitely does happen.
Smooth movements in VR games can cause severe nausea and dizzyness that can last for hours for people like me who are sensitive to motion sickness. This feature is by any means not perfect and it is annoying to watch, but I'll take it over clutching a toilet bowl after play sessions. *and sorry for repeating some info that others have mentioned, I just wanted to emphasize that it does have a good purpose and looks like ass for its intended users as well, but it's better than nothing ^^
@@siegwardinspirit okay sorry, I genuinely didn’t know this. In all of my experience with VR, this is the first time I’ve seen snap turn. For me, the whole point of VR is making it feel like you’re “in the game”, and in real life my head doesn’t just snap left and right instantly, it’s a smooth motion. That’s what I meant by “why would want that” because to me it just seems to defeat the purpose of VR. I had no idea there was an accessibility component to it, now it makes much more sense
