Make a workbench from scrap wood!

  • I’ve been working in this garage shop for about a year and it was high-time for an upgraded workbench. It had to be cheap because I knew I'd mess some things up on the first try. Luckily there was a bunch of junk 2x4’s, 2x6’s, and MDF in the rafters and I salvaged some wood from the bench that came with the garage. I’d say it turned out to be a decent starter workbench. Someday I’ll make a sturdier shop table but for now… this is what I got.

I think you did a great job upcycling what you had on hand. Keep up the great work. I’m interested in the work you are doing. The idea extending the clamp was brilliant.

Project Suggestion: what about making a fold down workbench for inside the garage that is attached to the wall using French cleats and something that’s not super heavy with storage cubbies inside the panel with a drop table and legs…maybe make the fold down work table using a pallet or two.

Great idea. I have another car camping project in the works but need to fix up the shop soon.

Good to hear Jeffrey! It’s hard to know if the jokes will land when I’m talking to myself in the garage.

I was wearing a lead rated respirator but admittedly was not fully protected with goggles and gloves. Next time I’ll be a little more decked out. Thanks for the concern.

$40 is totally expensive.. But great job!! Since you asked....waste less glue.. I have a set of casters somewhere I saved from another project.. Dowel rods.. Shoot. I dont have any anymore.

Easily one of my favorite things to do is to take a bunch of crap wood from the basement and turn it into something worth using. 👏👏👏

Excellent video, Dude! Looks like you've been a content creator for years. Good videography. I'm addicted to The UA-cam but as a professional UA-cam viewer, it looks to me like your 902 followers will definitely have a few more zeros in a couple of years or less. Keep up the projects! Well done!
