This is super cool! But sometimes the ocean does have it's stillness which that was added into it but WOW!
I like how physics are so incredibly realistic and there is this beautiful tree floating in the air. I love minecraft.
We all love the Minecraft
They don’t call Minecraft the greatest sandbox game of all time for nothing man! 😎 👌
Yeah really idk why they called this a realistic physic mod when the waves literally arent even moving the boat at all or anything
Thats really cool. I wonder, can you soften the reaction of the boat in the water? So it's not such choppy motion on the waves? Maybe it would look more natural if it reacted more softly/slowly to water-terrain changes
I'm pretty sure it has to do with keeping your horizontal speed constant so the mod doesn't have to modify that section of code
@@gagannnnn I think you're right but still it would be cool if it worked the way this guy explained
Just like real life
Yes, but it's ridiculously expensive
it would look more natural if it took air from the waves
Incredible! Now I can get seasick without leaving the comfort of home!
you could put another layer of animation to the boat so it doesn't look like it's stuck to the surface of the water. Maybe a sway animation would be nice to counter it. Never seen anything close to this in minecraft, really well made mod.
The physics mod is always impressive
*looks at burning cpu sadly*

@@tututoller aight, thanks man!
works surprisingly well
The fact this is still in Minecraft and not an animation is MIND-BLOWING. People are really pushing the game and the engine beyond anything I thought was possible!
Someone else pointed this out but I wanted to expand it. The way the boat moves feels really strange on high wave levels, as I believe you are just getting the surface normal of the water directly below the boat and using that for the rotation, but it would look better if it were an average of close points or at the very least some kind of interpolation between the current rotation and the new one. Besides the sharp boat angles, this mod looks cooler and cooler every month
Haubna appears to be the creator, not hodilton. But I agree, the sharp change in angles, it makes it look like the water is just pure solid and not liquid.
EDIT: It's getting added! Check the comment on Haubna's latest video about ocean physics.
It is fixed in later release, it just that video come sooner than it changed, you can check how at the moment boat handling waves: ua-cam.com/video/hlIs7dlEino/v-deo.html
@@XCanG Wow! That's definitely quite the improvement. It looks way better now. Not sure if boat jumps are realistic, but I googled it and they're apparently a thing so, neat!

The only thing the water is really missing (which might be on the shader and not the mod) is Snell’s Window when looking up from underneath. Subnautica goes to extra lengths to pull off the effect, and seeing the refraction of water like that does SO MUCH for the immersion
for those wondering what Snell’s Window is, if you’re underwater and look straight up, you can only see things above the surface through a cone of light
It’s the shader, not the physics mod. SEUS shader actually adds snell’s window, im not sure which other shaders do but I know that one does and it looks incredible.
imo inhibiting visibility in an exploration game esp. with lighting as basic as minecraft's would be bad. You'd defo need to make it an option in the mod if you want it or not.
this is genuinely spectacular
its fun to think that a lot of games already have this ocean phisics and it isnt rlly heavy to play in a pc with, but in minecraft is the first time and it is REALLY HEAVY😢

Happy New Year!
i know it is probably difficult to do, but if you are travelling at speeds and going over large waves, maybe add it so that you will be in the air for a little bit. Might make it look more realistic.
I just checked his patron and 4 hours ago he said he's working on it and probably will release it tomorrow. It had a video of the boat getting some air and splashing back down into the water.
@@maxinac ah right, thanks
@@maxinac wow
this is really really cool, just needs to be adjusted so it only has big waves when a specific amount of blocks of water are touching eachother, as it does look a bit weird with high waves in small ponds
Pair this with weather mods and traversing the ocean could be tense😮
You should work with Create Aeronautics! would be great having a ship battle in MC like with the old pirate ship mod

This mod is great! The fire coming out of my PC shortly before it exploded looked super realistic!
considering there are other games that naturally have these physics on water and can run on a mid pc such as Stranded Deep, (i've run it on 4gbs ram and an intel 620 before) you shouldn't really need an unrealistically powerful computer for this
@@CaramujoDaLeste that's a good point, it's more about what the game engine can handle and how hard your CPU is working real time. for example, if you have a shitty laptop that can barely run TF2, how are you able to watch videos on youtube of really good graphics? it's all about what's running it

is there a way to configure the mod so that when it rains the waves get bigger, or their height grows as you get further from the shore? it could be a great addition
This would be a great addition, especially if it scales up with thunder storms
you can all ready see there is he showed an options menu for the oecean physics so it wouldnt be that hard to have the game change a few values when it rains storms or is clear
you should make a different game at this point, i dont understand why people get impressed by such bullshit
@@wisenotwise2676 Why so upset for no reason
There is already a "Weather Strength Multiplier" in the settings as shown in the vid (1:15).
By default, clear weather is 0, Rain is 0.75, and Thunderstorm is 0.34.
This would be so good with specific presets for different weather types
This is supper cool. Ive been waiting for a really good water physics mod! I think the slider should be tied to the weather type and distance from land.
Imagine a perfect RTX experience of that underwater 😍
Pc nuke
@Matt SEUS PTGI (the lightest ray tracing shader) looks nothing like that underwater
Funny smoke is coming out of my intel HD laptop
It would look exactly the same as in this video, lol. RT is overrated and adds just minor features that you won't really notice. Shaders did all the job already.
My PC would explode
Okay that is pretty awesome, but oceans are usually calm on a normal day. When it's cold or there is some sort of weather like rain or storm, that is when waves/bumps start to pick up.
Seems like the mod has these kind of settings to play with
🤓

MC modders never fail to surprise me with how far they can push this "game" (more like a game engine than a game at this point (where you can create your own game with mods and maps and stuff) with Mojang basically abandoning it, the only thing still keeping MC alive is it's modding community) with their amazing creations, also compatability with the block physics mod is amazing, keep up the great work bro

Imagine if blocks were half the size they are now, the terrain would be so detailed!
Now THATS a mod that would be interesting to see!
basically infinte slabs
increase player size and make everythin twice bigger? 🤔
@@iga9110 you might be on to something here, only problem would be tree trunks would have to have a whole new generation algorithm to it and a new texture like a corner. otherwise the tree stumps would look weird with bark around each block. but yes could be done i think, and then the old texture can be used for branches
Building anything would take 8 times the effort and time then
This is an amazing mod! Congrats on this, I love it! I would love to see it be quasi-random throughout the ocean too, so perhaps near an island its calm but out on the sea its very turbulent and windy. Nonetheless, I love how realistic it is!
I was thinking this too!
Mods keep getting more and more realisitic to the point it would be so real and so detailed, that anything you would think about doing in minecraft would be the same way it acts in real life.
Damn! This is better than the water at my local beach!
"How laggy you want this mod to be?"
"Yes"
Damn, this is so realistic. I can smell my PC burning already!
How to create a nuke in 10 seconds:

That's so crazy that the boat itself reacts to the waves. I would have expected them to not have any colliders but I guess that's possible. Brilliant!
It's a shame the boat and the player can't influence the waves though. Although, I feel that is either impossible or too intensive to be implemented.
Amazing! One idea they could implement is so that the boat doesn't stick to the surface of the water 100% of the time, and can jump with the waves.
This is so cool! It would be cool if the wave height was biome specific
This looks cool, only issue i have is with how slowly the waves move, and i think it would be cool of the boat "cut" more through the bigger and sharper waves, when it just goes right over it looks like the boat is glued to the surface and the water feels almost solid. Would be neat to SEA the boat maybe jump a bit when going over a big wave with speed. And where the ocaen meets the land it looks unnatural as well, like i would love to see the waves wash up onto the shore
You really put that pun there didn’t you?
@@reedomu Of course. puns are sick.

Broooo good job, I love it, I found it beautiful and really cool
It would be cool to see big boat mods or other sub aquatic vehicle mods using this water mod. Now it should really feel like you’re on a galleon. Other than that, cool mod showcase. I do like how you can modify the waves to me more vanilla friendly or possibly very violent!

it remains only to add waves from the objescts near the water (like boats, items, player) and this mod will be perfect! very good work!
I love this! I know it might be kinda hard to do, but I think it would be cool if the boat would launch off of high waves when moving instead of snapping to the mesh.
Like in GTA?
@@Krisztian08 exactly
I just checked his patron and there's a video of this happening, he's working on it
this mod really shows off how insanely fast Steve goes when given a boat
It would be amazing if you could also do something like having the character actually get moved along with the waves instead of just being rotated so it's perpendicular to the waters surface, that would be honestly insane and if you pull it off then you are officially the best Modder of all time
Woah, Awsome
This looks absolutely marvelous
Now we just need some interaction effect between boat-water oar-water. And particle effects (like the ones that the player generates when splashing) would do just fine!
