Very interesting. Thanks for sharing your story. I enjoy youtube for the knitting inspiration but really enjoy 'meeting' the crafters. And your couch is gorgeous!
Soft AND cosy? Gorgeous. I bought some mindful DPNs purely because of the pointiness but they seriously set my teeth on edge and they are now looking for a new home. The search for the ideal texture/pointiness combination continues.
Gosh! So many emotions watching your podcast! Inspirational. I could listen to you for hours. Write a book! Do it id read it. I have so many ideas in my head but struggle with too much in my head lol that I give up. Depression is a constant shadow but gosh you gave me a lift. Thank you so much for sharing this piece of your life😊
Ah this was fabulous, Jackie! Thank you for these tips and tricks! So far, I don't have any desire to design, but I take my hat off to designers like you - I enjoy the genius that unfolds in my hands from pattern to fabric so much. I don't know what I would do without knitting - same as you, having that thing you can hold up at the end of the day and say - look I made this - its an unbeatable feeling X Ros X Ooh and Congratulations - 3 years! And with little ones! Absolutely fantastic!
Congratulations on 3 years! And for sharing your story. I've been that down before and had serious issues with decision fatigue and overwhelm like you described. It's such an awful experience. I'm so glad you're at the other side. Thank you so much for sharing all the tips too! I'm literally working out a hat pattern as I knit it and looking at inspiration and marrying ideas and figuring out how things are constructed and why. Next I'm going to knit it in my husband's size to make sure my maths is right and then we'll see! It will likely be a free pattern but I sure do love the process of creating it.
@@Thewoollybadger My only concern about making it paid is that the techniques aren't mine. I did the maths and scaling based on my gauge swatch but the hat decreasing I learned from watching Roxanne Richardson's channel and the brim technique was another UA-camr explaining the Oslo hat. I'm not sure where the ethical / copyright line is
I had to laugh at the comment of "everything in knitting is slow, it's slow, it's fine" while I'm hand winding the 2nd ball of mohair after the ball winder made a mess.

Oh thank you so much! Depression is a beast, but it can and does pass x

Yes to the hat design! And don’t underestimate your skill and worth - I say make it a paid pattern!
