- soo i applied to 12 schools in total (mainly uc's and csu's bc i really wanted to stay in california) and i decided to film my reaction for all my acceptances (and lots of rejections too ❤️). feel free to comment what schools you got into so i can hype you up hehe ;)

As a European it’s so interesting to see the American system on universities. Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
how does it work where you’re from?
@@444fawn we can actually go to whatever uni we want to. We just have to choose our subject and that's it!
lulu yeah like in Ireland it’s in a point system. So you do an exam and how well you do measures how many points you get. You need a certain amount of points to get into each course in uni and you find out late July/ August

here in the u.k, we only apply to 5 universities, and wait for offers. once we get the offer, we have to meet the grade requirement to get in. so we can celebrate that we 'got in' but we still have to do summer exams. 🙃

You should not be disappointed! This was an especially hard year since UCs were test blind. Getting into UCSB and UCI is amazing. Congrats!

You did so well. You did all your best and you shouldn't be sad but motivates you to do more and more. When I prepared to enter a university last year,they delayed the preliminary exams and this was very bad,the whole entrance session was a circus. But then it became a bigger circus when I was accepted in 3 unis but different majors. And now the circus is even bigger because I'm a med student...online.
ALSO,, a lot of you guys have been asking for a stats vid but i MOST LIKELY will not be making a whole separate vid on my stats so i'll just put them here:
weighted GPA: 4.17
SAT: all of the schools i applied to didn't require SAT/ACT scores this year
korean subject SAT: 800/800 (again, the schools i applied to were test optional so i think i just sent it to Pepperdine??)
extra curriculars: youtube, figure skating, marching/concert band, Christian club leader, korean school teacher, art teacher, math and english tutor, student leadership team
keep in mind that college admissions are rly unpredictable and it's really different for everyone!! whether you got into your dream school or not, i'm sosososo proud of you
It’s surreal that I was in your position almost 3 years ago now... I applied to almost all the same schools and got very similar acceptances (and rejections!), and now I’m a junior at UCI 🥲 congratulations and never forget that your college experience is whatever you decide to make it, hope you have a great one! 💛💙

I am currently going through admission decisions right now. This reminds me of my admission decisions process. I know how stressful waiting can be. I got waitlisted to UC Santa Cruz so I got really discouraged about getting into my other schools. UCI was my top choice when I got in too but my decision was quickly challenged by UCLA WITHIN AN HOUR! I was not expecting it whatsoever and now it's really hard to decide 😫
Also Korean family YAY! I'm also Korean so I'm happy to hear your family speaking Korean.
Never let a rejection phase you. I have three schools left and still have yet to experience a rejection (if you don't count my 2 waitlists). But I will take it head-on and feel happy about schools I did get into.

Here is not that easy after you finish school you have to take an exam konkor that is about all the things you study in grade 10-11-12 and after the results came out you can apply for universities

@@rachelkim1 no in Asia usually your chances of admission all rely on the big test, like if you score well on gaokao it doesn't matter if you had no extracurriculars, you can get admitted to top universities easy

It’s so nice to learn about other countries’ way of acceptance. Here in the Netherlands you apply to a university of applied sciences or university. A lot of the study programs don’t have strict cutoffs. For my study program (sociology) there weren’t any cutoff points so everybody that applied got in.
Do they apply hard grading curves to reduce the number of students? Or do they pass and graduate everyone so long as they can do the work?
Well the High School system in the Netherlands is very complicated, so maybe look into that. Because that is where the cut offs already happen hahah@@joeyp1927

@@rachelkim1 It was a bit of a bummer finishing online, but I loved it! I would definitely recommend getting plugged into a local church and college fellowship (I go to Berean Community Church)!
I live in France and I'm 24. I've been watching those videos since I was 15-16. The college admission process is so different here. My dream school will always be UCLA but I never applied to go study in the US because of the price. But I'm still happy with my studies. We always end up where we're supposed to !
There is always the masters degree!

Congratulations on all your acceptances! We applied to a lot of the same schools! My top was UCI too but I was waitlisted there so that had me really bummed...... but then I got into UC Berkeley! It really does all work out in the end haha. We may not be be at the same campus but we’re soon to be fellow students of the university of California system!!

UC Irvine!! UC Irvine is such a home welcoming community, people support each other, and the resources are helpful. I heard people at Berkeley and other competitive schools mess with other people’s education where at UCI everyone is in it together. I think UCI is a great school especially if you like a higher pace school system which you can finish faster because I’m graduating UCI in 2 years instead of 4

Hiii I’m going to be a business admin major too & from what I’ve heard UCI has an amazing business program! But so does SDSU for a state school tuition & an amazing social life & area :) They both have great networking & prestige for business majors & an amazing area it just depends on who u are personally! Seems like u have ur heart set on UCI but just wanted to lyk abt SDSUs options after researching a lot :) Congrats on everything I’m so proud of u
