- The NBA trade deadline came and passed with yet another missed opportunity by the Nugget's idiot GM, Calvin Booth, to upgrade the team around Nikola Jokic. And here we are, yet another wasted year of Jokic's career.

It’s truly remarkable. In my opinion Westbrook, Braun, and Gordon are the best support he has, followed by the inconsistent Murray and Porter Jr who somehow get paid boatloads 😂

Murray has been inefficient as fuck.
MPJ only recently his groove back and that's against mediocre defense teams.
Braun is inconsistent recently and can't make his own shot. Only good for fast breaks.
Westbrook turnovers the ball too much when he's ball handling.
AG was good until he got injured this season.
The only real help he really had was when Murray was deadly from 3 during their title run. The rest are mediocre. You're looking at the points but ignoring the fact that Jokic creates the open looks for them and they're still struggling with efficiency.

He ain’t an All-Star but he does fit Denver’s system perfectly.

Booth reminds me of the Hawks the last few years. Had one good run that ended in a championship at least, but didn't build off of that to keep the team contending. After losing to Minnesota last year, he should have made a few moves. Everyone knew that OKC and Memphis would be back, and Houston has now made a huge jump too
I've been watching the Nuggets every game. Honestly, their team is a lot stronger and they are contenders. They have a great team. MPJ, murray, braun, Gordon, all can have big scoring nights depending on the defence, and russel westbrook is a game changer as well. The bench is also stronger than I thought, with good defence and scoring, although still somewhat inconsistent. I didn't want them to make a trade honestly. They have a championship core already, the young players are developing... they have a bright future.
I will say they need help at center, as Jordan needs to be better on both ends of the court. But highly skilled, defensive centers are hard to come by.
Yeah exactly. The only real way to make a trade was to include Porter, and he's just as good or better than some of the players he was being considered being dealt for. As long as the team stays healthy, they have a good core of like 8 players to rotate in the playoffs.

The NBA is just a garbage product and has been for a long time. Mid 80s through mid 2000s were excellent times to be basketball fans. This modern garbage with no defense or physicality, flopping, 200+ combined points on a game to game basis/three point contest, EVERYTHING about LeBron James (hands down the single most overrated athlete in American sports history), “load management”, player empowerment/forcing trades to where they want to go, ridiculous contracts, officiating… The NBA absolutely sucks now. Basketball WAS my favorite sport back then. Now I watch a ton of football and hockey, but the NBA makes my stomach turn. Firing Adam Silver is a very necessary first step but the truth is a quick and easy fix doesn’t exist. It took years and years of poor decisions to do all this damage and get us here and it’ll take years and years to fix, if it’s ever fixed at all. I am very pessimistic about the situation and believe the league will NEVER be as good as it once was. Basketball’s best days are behind us.

Pieces need to change if they play like G leaguers in the playoffs while they are payed max. They know to point how Jokic plays heavy minutes because of his paycheck, how about they take others accountable.
This is the right take. Blowing shit up to try to grab Trae Young or some other expensive piece just so Denver can slot in an "all-star" for Joker to play with does multiple things that don't immediately improve your team. Also, missing key players at the beginning of the season had them out of the gates much slower than they otherwise would have been.
There's an argument for getting a defensive piece and/or trying to add some rotational depth, but Denver is big, has some young talent, guys that can shoot, veteran presence, and not to mention the best player in the world. If they get sent home in 5 against the T-Wolves, fire away, but I don't see that series going Minnesota's way this year.
You can shit on Booth for a lot of things, but not making a panic decision at this deadline is not one of them.

Denver's leadership is failing Jokic and his teammates. When you see teams in your conference making major moves, then it's a clear sign that you should make moves as well. I don't understand why Denver didn't fight for a Jimmy Butler or at least Wiggins.
