I know we live in cynical times, but the value of technology that brings us people such as Jon is priceless. It takes a real commitment of time and effort to produce these videos; not to mention the decades of honing a craft. I for one am extremely appreciative of this channel and the vehicle that makes it possible. Thanks again Jon for your continued excellence. Dan
BONDO SPREADER !!!!! BRILLIANT. I've been fighting with different application methods and sanding like crazy between coats and still have not got tbe chalk board smooth enough. I'm off to the auto parts store now. THANK YOU.
Your video and the narrative that goes with it, just a class apart and I look forward for each of your projects. This one I have to specially mention to thank you, as I am about to start a chalk board (huge 4'X8') in my son's room for him to work his mathematical formulae which run real long. Thanks for sharing such wonderful DIY instructional videos. God Bless.
Great video. I like the way you build up a profile for frames and doors with multi pieces of wood. l have used your style of cabinet doors on my work a few times now. Keep up the great videos!!
I made a chalk board out of a glass picture frame recently. Instead of canned paint I used spray on chalk board paint. I did 3 thick coats and it came out really smooth and flat. Perhaps painting on glass helped but not using a brush eliminated any stroke marks. Thanks for the great videos.
great video! my wife has been asking me all summer to make one of these chalk boards for the kitchen, now I have a better idea how to make one, maybe not as large....thanks for sharing Mr. Peters! Mike
Did you lightly shade the whole chalkboard with chalk before first use? like rubbing the chalk sideways covering the whole board? I heard you have to, otherwise you will see your words forever at least some. I bought some chalkboard paint for my son for Christmas and have yet to put it up. Thanks!

not sure I think so , the board works great we use every day
Sorry I was not specific, what kind of paint is the white one? Thanks
Love your work Sir 👍 Subbed 😁
Hello Jon, what kind of paint you use on this?
If you have an easel or old chalkboard, do not throw it away, use whiteboard paint or chalkboard paint to refinish it!
Couldn't you of given the black board paint a light sanding with a 2000 grit sandpaper? If you were concerned with a smooth surface.
Ha ha " so I asked my wife first". Yup, I know how that works too.

Great to see that woodprix has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
Go to woodprix if you'd like to build it yourself.
If only I had watched this before making mine, oh well :/
