I’m in my mid 50’s I lived in Port Credit for a few of my high school years, I was born and lived all my life in Mississauga. I’ve seen this area grow from a bunch of connected towns into the large suburban city it is today. It’s nice to see Port Credit hasn’t changed that much over the years, not as drastically as the rest of the city.

Yes! Pls. let Port Credit retain its charm. No big box stores here! The grocery stores are located East of H10 & on H10 i.e. Cousins. & other grocery stores West of the lighthouse.
Once the Brightwater condo's & townhomes come up in a few years time, the traffic will increase & just hope Mississauga gov. maintains that area next to this development.

My heart stopped beating viewing this video. I used to live around Elizabeth during 2000-10. Looks like things have changed as far as business is concerned. Sad to see No Frills go. New CIBC is really big. We used to get Pizza from a place at the corner of Elizabeth & Lakeshore. I wonder if it is still there. I guess Loblaws on the other side of the river is still there. Marina is the best place to spend time. Hope Port Credit continues to retain its charm. Thanks for going at a slow pace. Keep producing such videos. I am looking for one on Malton.

@13:40 It's crazy they got rid of No Frills. There's a Loblaws to the West, just past Mississauga Rd. and a Metro to the East. Like you said, not in the immediate area, but not too far either. Be sure to come back on a nice sunny weekend and see the chaos of people and traffic 🤣.

So easy to forget how nice parts of the city area since the Square One area and the Hurontario corridor is normally the first thing that comes to mind.

I love Port Credit and visit it often on weekends and enjoy it all and spend from an hour to 6 hours each visit. It was even more appreciated during Covid world shutdown as it was still worth visiting. It's a small village with tourist designation and open longer hours and holidays and I greatly appreciate every visit. I haven't seen this video yet and look forward to seeing it then i'll give my feedback. I really spent little time their before Covid times and visited it often during those times and still enjoyed it.

I'm so glad you're exploring other areas of Ontario. Was getting tired of watching just Toronto videos again and again. I'm really thrilled that you're expanding your vlogs to different parts of Ontario. Hopefully in the coming months you'll show us the entire Ontario :). Could you please make a video on Oakville next?. Thank you so much Johnny for showing us the beautiful Ontario through your lens. These first person view virtual tours means a lot to me (kinda feels like I'm actually there when I watch it in 4k haha). Thanks again. Have a good one :)

Oh my, how my village has changed. I grew up in Port Credit, in the fifties. Actually I was six in 1950. I remember the train tracks just north of Lakeshore on Huron Ontario st went over the road and traffic went under. Thanks for the update. The old school guy.

This was great, Johnny!! Mississauga is Canada's sixth largest city though and we don't need to be referred to as "suburban Toronto" anymore. Aside from that though, I really loved your video. Some other nearby areas that might interest you are: Stavebank Road (lots of historic old dry stone fences and character homes and uniquely no sidewalks), the Historic District, and the Adamson Estate These are all within walking distance of the core of Port Credit, where you were in this video. And next time be sure to take the path underneath the Credit River bridge to see the lovely mural, which represents the salmon in the Credit River and is in honour of the Mississaugas Indians, part of the Ojibwe Nation, after whom Mississauga was named. I can send you some pics of the mural if you like. Hope you come back soon :)

Indeed, in fact I think Mississauga no longer qualifies as a suburb as more people commute to it for work rather than from it. For the sake of my audience outside of the GTA and due to the mostly suburban style built environment I decided to throw that in the title. Cheers

To those commenters who say there is no grocery store nearby, you're mistaken! There is a beautiful, huge Loblaws at Lakeshore & Mississauga Road, and Cousins grocery on Hurontario, just north of Lakeshore. Both are in easy walking distances from any of location seen throughout the video. Just moved to Port Credit in the last month, and absolutely loving it!

Thanks for the walk around "The Credit" . You walked past where I lived for several years when you were at Tall Oaks Park. The Waterfront Trail does follow the streets through that area. The Port Credit Library has been closed as it is an unstable building. I haven't read what they plan to do. The Robins Doughnuts place was originally a Tim Horton's Burgers, before Tim Horton got into coffee and doughnuts. It was an A&W outlet for many years where they brought a tray of food out to your car.

@@JohnnyStrides Me too, it's good to see the inside of a coffee shop atmosphere and I can tell getting and tasting coffee is different in each place and depends a lot from country to country, from city to city due to mineralization of water, milk, coffee source and of course surroundings to some degree ,which adds on to the whole experience. Try to get to Starbucks and show their bakery Johnny, haven't seen, tasted any better so far, but Denmark is pretty close although can't beat Canadian Starbucks muffins..Weird thing is StarBucks in London,UK sucks big time...

Hi again Johnny Strides. I wanted to tell you that, although everyone was sad to see No-frills shuttered (and nothing having replaced it), Rabba is not the only grocery store in town. Loblaws is only a 15-minute walk west along Lakeshore and Metro is about a 15-minute walk east along Lakeshore. There is also another grocery store called Cousin's Market, which is about a 15-minute walk north up Hurontario. I am a car-free senior and those grocery stores are well within walking distance of me and my shopping trolley, or me and a bus ride. Thought you might like to know. Have a fantastic weekend.

Used to have a lot of younger families and kids running around...doubt that''ll be the case in upcoming years. Pro tip: check out 'The Adamson's Estate'. There's a road leading to the lake just off of Lakeshore and Shaw road. Absolutely beautiful at night especially with a full moon reflecting off the lake. Dear Mr. Johnny Strides... Our Hero, Johnny, was vlogging in the wonderful city Mississauga with PORT CREDIT as a jewel in the crown.... Johnny is Toronto's Vlogger.... Our Hero was vlogging the boats as they float upon the sparkling water.... Meanwhile, a weird guy clad in stretchy yoga pants and on the front displayed the symbol of a spatula..... OMG!... Johnny, it's Spatula-Man and known to his therapist to possess less than a third-of-a-brain, his head is flat like a spatula.... And he's attempting to use his little spatula to flip over innocent pedestrians.... He sneaks up behind and places the spatula under a sneaker and with a snap-up flips person over.... He released a crazy giggle each time... Three people have already been flipped over... OMG!... Johnny!.... Wait for a second... Johnny has a plan... YES... He aimed the vlogger gizmo at Spatula-Man catching him attempting to again flip another person.... Johnny's Super-Chat, YES... People have already called upon the Men and Women in Blue... Thank goodness Johnny was here to capture on vlog the mischievous nature of Spatula-Man because the vlog can be used as evidence.... And now Spatula-Man has been arrested.... The Men and Women in Blue shake Johnny's hand and steal mug shot.... "Hi Mom, I am on UA-cam.... I just met Johnny!" the Man-in-Blue said..... Johnny is Toronto's Vlogger.... The end.... Be Calm and Vlog On!.... Always in Good Taste... CHEERS!... Be Supportive and Subscribe... Touche, Johnny!.... Port Credit is saved!
