As a near-native in Holland now, I recommend Emily tries Poffertjes in Amsterdam. Teeny tiny pancakes with loads of butter and icing sugar on top. Watching the guys cooking them is also quite a performance.
Bruges is my favourite place in Europe, it is so great when the day trippers from Brussels get back on their coaches, and you are left with a few tourists and the locals, the whole vibe changes and it is a great place to be.
Thanks to you two I get to see places like this. I can't travel so I enjoy your videos so much. The waffles and chocolate are the icng on the cake...so to speak! XX
Hi Emily & Louise and pets, if you need a safe and quiet parkup on the countryside on route to Norway, let me know. We live in Germany and have a big garden (4000 Sq. meters) where you could easily park. Greeting and safe travels!
From when I was 6 months old until I was 6.5 years old we lived in Shape, Belgium which is in Casteau. We traveled all over Europe. I remember a lot of the places like Bruges and Brussels, we went to Holland, the place I will never EVER FORGET was the concentration camp in Auschwitz. Enjoy your European tour and I pray your van makes it 100% of the way. God Bless
Geek alert here, but there's such a nice variety of shots in your videos and I really like the way in which you pivot the pace (with that shot of the pigeons, for instance). You guys really put much more effort into your work than others and some of us can see it.
Adore that darling boy AJ (and Summer of course) - thank you guys for rescuing. Been involved in it for a lot of years and people take notice and learn from you. Those fries looked flipping AMAZING by the way.
So nice to see you on the continent again! I spent 6 days in & around Amsterdam with my Brompton cycling out to quieter villages just 2 weeks ago, though been loads before. The city centre was busy I will say, a lot of hustle and bustle. Be sure to look everywhere when you walk! Anyway while I won’t suggest space cake, I do recommend trying the pancakes both savoury & sweet. I can highly recommend The Pancake Bakery (visited a few times over the years) however note it is busy. They also love their frites with frite sauce or many other sauces. If you like blackcurrant buy cassis (non alcoholic), I got through a bit on my recent trip & try some Chocomel, the Dutch love chocolate milk. Also pick up some Hagelslag in the supermarkets, basically predominantly chocolate flavoured sprinkles the Dutch put on bread for breakfast. It’s nice on toast 😋. On another note not sure what area you’ll be staying. I’ve stayed at both camping Zeeburg & Amsterdamsebos sites both nice for different reasons, however Amsterdamsebos Park is huge & beautiful with lakes, fields & woods. Note however there are low flying planes due to proximity to airport. If you have enough time another place I loved was the castle at Muiden not far from the city. This all might be a bit late for your visit to Amsterdam however Enjoy!
Space cakes.. DEFINITELY 😂😂 .. The Midnight sun is such a unique, cool experience, hopefully you guys will be up there long enough to catch the northern lights too?? Great vid as always lovelies xx
We love Belgium great place , I had a dogfight with oyster catches in Suffolk last year , they don’t back down do they , they attacked with a wingman , honestly they went full top gun on me. Looking forward to this chapter Helen and Martin
Being belgian, expat in France, I must say I totally understand Emily : when in Belgium, you just want to eat it all, waffles (both kinds), beers (can’t try them all…) and chips (the best in the world). You just have to make sure you’re getting the good ones and not some « just ok » made for tourists.
I totally misheard what Em said and thought she said "i sleep fine...you could be "shatting" in my ear and i'd still sleep" hahaha. Rewound it 3 times and then realised she said "shouting"!!
Great to having visited my home country Belgium. Bruges is great, and maybe you would have liked Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels even more. Have a safe trip to and in Norway. Beautiful it will be, with or without those extra little animals, haha ;)
hi. im currently working my way through your videos.... my husband gets too hot with the heating on at night and im the kind of person that used to sleep with 2 duvets over me in colder months before we moved in together. so i have been getting into bed with a hot water bottle and watching your videos at night lately. your videos are so relaxing. I love seeing all the beautiful places you are visiting
This must be your best video yet, I was laughing all the way through. Reminded me of a chocolate raid on Bruuuuuge we did by yacht some years back before discovering van life. Can't wait for the next instalment, keep it up. XX
Heading for Scandinavia: Dark Blue cap or carton: full milk 3% fat Light blue : 1.5 % fat Grey : skim milk. 0,5 % fat Green: buttermilk Red cartons (small) : whipping cream
Boring, oh so boring. NO drama, crisis, tiffs, breakdowns, empty snack cupboards, drone destruction, grumpy bollocks and so on. Just massive smiles and joy at the start of your next adventure. Had to change pants again laughed so much, remember us old uns can't hold it you know. Great photography and drone shots. THANK YOU for having me along.
I could write loads of words describing what I like about your channel but, put simply, I just completely love you guys, you both bring me such joy and happiness, thank you and huge hugs to you all.
Chocolate, waffles and then chips and then bloody yoga ! What a life style. Crackin drone shot of the oyster catcher , wow, nearly crashed. Cheers Richie.
I am from the Netherlands, love you’re vlogs, but please please don’t be that stereotype tourist in Amsterdam who is there for the cannabis. Amsterdam and the Netherlands has so much more and better to offer 👌🏳️🌈🇳🇱
I really enjoyed Covid Time. No one would even drive their car. I was practically the only car on the road. I loved it! Now, the roads are so busy it takes a half hour to go even the shortest distance.
Every financial goal requires patience, dedication and consistent spirit knowing that investment is currently the most lucrative business in the world, both NFT, real estate and Crypto shares are really positively changing people's lives.
You're right! Investing in Crypto market isn't a myth. A few years back I felt it was impossible but here l am today...all l had was God and a dedicated broker.
Yes definitely try the hash brownies Emily, I could do with a laugh🤣🤣🤣. Also top tip for your bites, put a hot spoon on them and keep there for a few seconds, repeat if itching hasn't stopped but I promise you it works. Enjoy your road trip and keep posting your amazing vlogs ❤
Most women go Window Shopping, Emily goes Window Binging. I thought the bird was a visual effect, absolutely outstanding good luck. Editing skills are beyond expected. Bruges is translated as Brujas as in Witches, quite a "gray" city, wish one day to visit. ¡¡Pura Vida!! Fun Facts are the best.
As a Dutchman, try your spacecake, but top it of with a real Dutch treat: a Frikandel Speciaal! A typical Dutch snack, loved by everyone. Warm, meaty, comfortably soft chew, with spicy aftertaste. Some choose currysauce, I like it with ketchup. I ‘m in Italy right now, enjoy the Dutch and there culture. Have fun!👍
My hubby & l enjoyed a fantastic day in beautiful Bruges late Sept before Covid hit. There we’re thousands of people everywhere,it was extremely crowded. We were on a magnificent 24 day cruise. In my part of Australia 45C is common in Summer & horrible. Love seeing wonderful parts of the world we have been to through your travels.Thank you so much Louise & Emily.♥️ from Australia.
I spent a glorious 10 days wild camping in Lofoton which is an archipelago in Northern Norway. I spent most of my time around Henningsvaer. Believe me the scenery will blow your mind!!
Ever since I saw this city in a movie,it's been one of my bucket list destinations! So happy for your trip! Watched the expawers take that train! Never heard of such a thing. How cool !
Great start girls, keep up with the foods as were real foodies, hence the reason we always holiday in France, look forward to the next episode, stay safe😎😎😎
Tip for Emily: Ammonia is the best treatment for bug bites, and alcohol is a close second. The ammonia neutralizes the venom since it's a base and venom is acidic. If you get it on the bite quickly, it can prevent it from turning into an itchy bump. If you get there late, try rubbing alcohol whenever it itches, also works amazingly well. Can't wait to see footage of Norway! Good luck!
Norway is stunning, the ferry to Lofoten is brilliant and lots of free camping north of the Arctic circle. To wake up surrounded by reindeer was special. Enjoy your trip.
If you haven't tried "Smidge" then its a must for midgie and mozzies, skin so soft just makes it greasy for them to land on you. I live in the Highlands of Scotland and we all use Smidge.
Hands down you still really are the best Van lifers on UA-cam I think it’s because you are yourselves, As for the space cake yea go try one . See you next week here on UA-cam .
Bonus brownie points for the title work in your editing programme! (The 22.5 hours later and Somewhere Else ones I mean) And by that, I DON'T mean a hash brownie. That would make a hilarious video by the way. Perhaps you could get the drone up to see who gets highest?
Louise and Emily,Thank you so much for taking us on your travels. I remember years ago I went to Brugge and I must admit I was like you Emily shopping for chocolates they were yummy. Just love travelling with yous. Take care.❤
Coincidence !!! after a 2 month trip around Europe we visited friends in Breda last Sunday and Monday (I lived there for 10 years many moons ago) on our way back to the UK...
Kudos to you Louise for supporting the local economy and providing added value to the content you bring to your channel. I, for one, am very interested in the local delicacies and whether they live up to the hype so thank-you for sharing your experiences and providing your honest feedback following proper sampling of said delicacies.
Summer came to south of Norway this weekend, so the temperatures are finally stable over 10 degrees at night. 😉 Ticks and mosquitoes depends on where you are, and the weather right then.. I am planning on taking a 2 week trip north to visit my sister in July. And the offer stands, if you are around Tonsberg, you can happily get some rest here.. 😊
The editing has stepped up a notch. I particularly appreciate the cool text effects. Very cool. With regards to midgies, smidge is good. I'm Scottish trust me. Unless you want to poison yourself with deet. Yes to hashcakes 😅
Ooooooh! You've taken me back many MANY years. I used work in Ostend for a while and went on a day trip to Bruges. All I can remember is the wonderful crypt of that church and the canals. And the canals stank!!!!!!! Do they still? It was a lovely place. And, as I'm typing, I'm remembering the old women dressed in black sat outside making lace. Oh and the waflles were great - I became addicted to them. Nostalgia ain't good for you...........
And the first night I landed in Ostend I accidentally got drunk on Guinness. I hadn't realised it was stronger than normal (I was young & naive). Now look at the nostalgia you've started.
always sit here grinning when i'm watching your vids! Brugge stays beautiful - nearly 25 years since we passed through in our van and even my 6 year old learned to love mussels - and those frites! Emily continue to enjoy!!
Hiya you two, I think I've mentioned it before, I live in Nürnberg and my gardens big enough for you to park up in for a day or a few. Have fun while you're over here and I hope to meet you some time. Tony
Excellent as always. Just something worthy of note, that place where you camped is very nice, great facilities and yes, a short walk into town but beware for others who may go there, it is also the main coach park for Bruges and come a month or 2 it will be absolutely rammed with coaches as well as campers.
The coaches are separate from the campers, they have to go through a separate barrier, yes it’s next to it but not in the same area 👍 I get it would be noisier during the day for sure
OMG the chocolate shops looked amazing, it's no wonder Emily wants to stop at every shop. Beautiful river footage, it just looked so idyllic, what a lovely place to spend some walking time. I can't wait to hear about the next food jaunt. Great video. Take Care, Hugs UK
Really excited to follow your adventure through Amsterdam up to Norway. I think it’s only right that you test out the space cakes for all of us that haven’t been to Amsterdam (yet) ! Good luck Gary and Katie :)
Great vlog guys !! And Emily you left England as a passenger but if you carry on with those waffle and cake indulgences you’ll end up coming back as cargo 🤣, but honestly guys thanks for the tag along on your great experiences, summer and aj and the pair of you stay safe and keep the vlogs coming !!
Way back in the late 80's we had 3 months in Europe vanning. Only time we got moved on was in Le Mans. We parked in a supermarket carpark and got 'the knock' at 6am! Workers were there to chop down the only rotten tree of probably 50 in the carpark - guess who parked right beside it! Couple of beers for the workmen and everyone was all smiles!
Use buttermilk to make pancakes, scones, and smoothie type dri.nks... not really for tea or coffee but some people have an acquired taste for that. It's a healthy dairy product! Keep in fridge
Nice vlog girls. What a special place Belgium is. Beautiful towns etc and the chocolate.... OMG. We can't wait for your Norwegian adventure too. Safe travels on the road.
I've just found your channel and am binge watching everything!! Thank you for the Welsh trip as I'm headed out there for the whole of September in my jumbo transit Vera. Your vlog gave me loads of ideas. Louise, your filthy humour has had me in stitches - its right up my alley! I've watched a lot of van life vlogs and honestly, you're the best 👌 👍 Plus, you're the nicest couple on UA-cam! Anyway, all this flattery'll swell your 'eds so I'll bog off and watch more stuff. Lata's! Tracy.
Always enjoy listening to their witty banter. English is not my first language. I just found it. What distinguishes the british english, over the american english, is the witty banter. I should congratulate myself. I knew i will find it. I am cought in a love triangle between the american and the british english. Life is not easy, when english is not your first language.
Haha that’s really funny, we made the same mistake with the butter milk in Belgium - and I agree with Louise: tea with yogurt bits floating in it is not good 😆
Stand in the square, with the tower behind you: on your left will be a lane - and just off that square there's a small restaurant, where you will get the most perfect steak, ever.
My then partner and I shared a Brownie from a (legal) café and went shopping. Neither of us got anything from it so we returned to the same café for more brownie but the very responsible owner refused to sell us another, telling us we hadn’t given it enough time 👍👍 VERY soon after, it kicked in!!!! I was convinced he was going to fall in the canal and I was totally disoriented and freaking whenever we went near the canal side. Glad to have tried it (the Brownie, not pushing him into the canal) but had no inclination to repeat the experience. Was advised it would work wonders for our passion but I fell asleep… 💤💤💤💤💤💤 😂😂😂
Super cool blue camper in the aire at Bruges. Antihistamine cream is a godsend for midge bites. Ypres is a lovely town in Belgium if you get a chance to stop off on your return leg
Lost a car there years ago, we parked it, noted the street and promptly forgot where it was when we returned hours later - interesting wander round fora couple of hours to find it. If you like Bruges, try Mechelen between Antwerp and Brussels on the A17. Superb chip van there.
Bergan is beautiful too. Olso is great. We drove over the Hardangervidda in April and it was stunning - recommend a stop in Flåm and Norways mountain railway
Glad you liked Bruges. We've been going there every year for the last 17 years (except the COVID ones :-( ). We've made a lot of friends there over the years. We're due back this August, can't wait. Enjoy the rest of your trip to Norway, another lovely country.
What a start to your trip 😊 my grandmother, who is sadly no longer with us, tried...unknowingly...a special brownie and was amazed how well she slept, lol. smashing the Childs pose there Emily, I like a bit of yoga but also a body combat HIIT 🥊 So good to see places alive again 😀 I'll look forward to the next episode!
Top girl's. Norway is beyond stunning. Been many times with work and in campers. You can never have enough time in Norway. Lofoten island's are a must see.
@@campervibe whale watching I would strongly recommend at the North end of the island's. But you have to just follow your own path and make your own memories. Keep up the good work.
Next time you are both in the Netherlands you must go to Giethoorn its called little Venice as its a village on water . I live 30 mins in City called Zwolle which is also very beautiful.
Good Vlog. Did some of Norway in1995 Bergen to Lillehamer for there Land Rover national rally late July early August. If you are going any where near Lillehammer the Luge (Bobsleigh, large go kart in summer) was well worth a go. Scenery was awesome keep an eye out for Elk crossing the road.
Ok Emily you've sold us on Bruges, we'll add it to the list. Space cakes, yes give it a go. Good video - especially the intro with the lettering and soundtrack (tell Louise if you would). Roll on Norway. Stay safe girls, regards Reg. PS Hang in there with the brace thingy!
I'm with Lou on the crowds and Emily on the food!!
lol
Same here!
As a near-native in Holland now, I recommend Emily tries Poffertjes in Amsterdam. Teeny tiny pancakes with loads of butter and icing sugar on top. Watching the guys cooking them is also quite a performance.
They sound delicious!!!
Does sound delicious, I will be trying all sorts 😀😀
Emily and Lou, you both are just awesome! Seriously, thank you for bringing us along!!!
Bruge was so lovely! Thanks for taking us there. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, Gals :)

Enjoy your European tour and I pray your van makes it 100% of the way. God Bless
It would be absolutely hilarious to see Emily raiding the snack cupboard after trying space cake. Enjoy your trip! 😀
I think I would empty it 😂
🌷🌷🌷🌷🍄🍁GOD BLESS YOU GUYS AND KEEP YOU SAFE ON ALL YOUR WONDERFUL ADVENTURES I PRAY 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉
@@campervibe who knows some of us have the opposite reaction 😆 for me it all depends on the levels of THC vs CBD and the different flavonoids.
Was my first thought also, she could possibly raid all her snack stash while talking you to death...
:-D
Geek alert here, but there's such a nice variety of shots in your videos and I really like the way in which you pivot the pace (with that shot of the pigeons, for instance). You guys really put much more effort into your work than others and some of us can see it.

Haha yeah you should definitely know and thanks
Great electric kickboard scene at the beginning of the video👍, it was as great as emily running scenes😄.... take care..
Feeling a bit down, logged in to UA-cam, up you pop with smiles and laughter. Thank you. ☺
😀😀😀
😀😀😀 oh I will
Hiya you two, I think I've mentioned it before, I live in Nürnberg and my gardens big enough for you to park up in for a day or a few. Have fun while you're over here and I hope to meet you some time. Tony
Thanks Tony, super kind of you
Excellent as always. Just something worthy of note, that place where you camped is very nice, great facilities and yes, a short walk into town but beware for others who may go there, it is also the main coach park for Bruges and come a month or 2 it will be absolutely rammed with coaches as well as campers.
The coaches are separate from the campers, they have to go through a separate barrier, yes it’s next to it but not in the same area 👍
I get it would be noisier during the day for sure
OMG the chocolate shops looked amazing, it's no wonder Emily wants to stop at every shop. Beautiful river footage, it just looked so idyllic, what a lovely place to spend some walking time. I can't wait to hear about the next food jaunt. Great video. Take Care, Hugs UK
They were too good 😂
Really excited to follow your adventure through Amsterdam up to Norway. I think it’s only right that you test out the space cakes for all of us that haven’t been to Amsterdam (yet) !
Good luck Gary and Katie :)
Thanks guys, suppose I could take on for the team 😂
Great vlog guys !! And Emily you left England as a passenger but if you carry on with those waffle and cake indulgences you’ll end up coming back as cargo 🤣, but honestly guys thanks for the tag along on your great experiences, summer and aj and the pair of you stay safe and keep the vlogs coming !!
😂😂 few more exercises needed then
Way back in the late 80's we had 3 months in Europe vanning.
😂😂
Holy smokes your editing and cinematography is amazing! I love the way you are putting your vlogs together atm. So profesh!
Thank you
Use buttermilk to make pancakes, scones, and smoothie type dri.nks... not really for tea or coffee but some people have an acquired taste for that. It's a healthy dairy product! Keep in fridge
Yeah it was in the fridge when I saw it 🙈
Nice vlog girls.
Lata's! Tracy.
Hey Tracy, thank you that’s super kind to you, hope you enjoy wales 😁😁
Always enjoy listening to their witty banter. English is not my first language.
I just found it.
What distinguishes the british english, over the american english, is the witty banter.
I should congratulate myself.
I knew i will find it.
I am cought in a love triangle between the american and the british english.
Life is not easy, when english is not your first language.
You have done well to understand us then 😀😀😀
Haha that’s really funny, we made the same mistake with the butter milk in Belgium - and I agree with Louise: tea with yogurt bits floating in it is not good 😆
Stand in the square, with the tower behind you: on your left will be a lane - and just off that square there's a small restaurant, where you will get the most perfect steak, ever.
Brilliant video, loved the birds flying up to the drone x
Absolutely loved this Vlog, so fun-filled and fabulous camera work as always. Great buildings etc
You need head nets for the midgies, also consider one for AJ when walking as they will drive him mad.
I believe it depends on where you go and when, we have heard mixed reviews, suppose we will have to wait and see
Anywhere inland and heavily wooded will be quite bad. Think west coast of Scotland between May and late September. It’s basically the same.
😂 yeah never heard that it works for that just chill time and munchies, I have been told you need to give it awhile when you eat it
Yes... on the road again. Looking forward to sharing your journey... cheers 👍
That would be me all day long, I have to take pictures of where I park my car 🤦🏻♀️
Love your honesty grrrrrls.. Stay safe n enjoy your travels.. Keep them wonderful vids coming..
Here we go again, Best of luck..
Fingers crossed .
Have a great time now you can get back there 😀😀
What a start to your trip 😊 my grandmother, who is sadly no longer with us, tried...unknowingly...a special brownie and was amazed how well she slept, lol. smashing the Childs pose there Emily, I like a bit of yoga but also a body combat HIIT 🥊 So good to see places alive again 😀 I'll look forward to the next episode!
Yeah I like a good HIIT as well, easing myself back in 😂
Top girl's. Norway is beyond stunning. Been many times with work and in campers. You can never have enough time in Norway. Lofoten island's are a must see.
So many people have said about that island, definitely a must
@@campervibe whale watching I would strongly recommend at the North end of the island's. But you have to just follow your own path and make your own memories. Keep up the good work.
Next time you are both in the Netherlands you must go to Giethoorn its called little Venice as its a village on water . I live 30 mins in City called Zwolle which is also very beautiful.
Hi love the town you were in the building were amazing the waffles and chocolates looked lovely have a good time takecare x
Definitely go it was super pretty, so looking forward to Norway 😀😀
I SO enjoy your channel. Thanks for giving me a look at where you travel! Love from Texas!
