I have a 2019 crosstrek which took me a while to get used to because I basically do what you're showing here, except that year adds a "hill brake" which prevents rollback for about 3 seconds. I would have trouble because I normally keep the idle a little lower when letting out on the clutch and pump the gas the way you do, but would stall at times (because of the braking action). After I figured out that the car was braking for the first three seconds, I was able to correct that and now just let the clutch out a little and wait, then all is good. Love your videos!
Slow moving traffic, plus slight uphill and everyone being a fucking vulture trying to squeeze in my lane the moment I leave a tiny gap is a nightmare when you’re still learning. But this video just reassured me that I was doing the right thing because I was doing that delicate balance with the clutch plus the small blips on the throttle to creep up and not stall out. Nothing quite like trial by fire 😂
really awesome video!! confidence just comes from lots of practice keep up the good work!! and don't be afraid to use the handbrake as well when stopped on a hill combine that with your footbrake if you want extra peace of mind that you wont start rolling back! haha

The little panic pumps on the gas when starting off are super relatable haha I've gotten much smoother over time but it took a while
Wouldn’t say they’re panic pumps, some people prefer small taps to keep the RPMS lower. Plus it’s less time you’re slipping with revs
I remember this being my worst nightmare when learning how to drive manual but I learned just like how everybody else did 😂
